Another cooler day with a drop of rain to quench the parched garden.
A dent has been made in the ironing mountain.
A small kindness from a stranger whilst I was running errands earlier today made me smile.
Chilled Chardonnay - naughty midweek but enjoyed.
Not a great day but I can still find pleasures in it - that can't be bad.

    1. My last day was lovely - in my honour, all the teachers said alliterative names for their classes at praise assembly :) My class have been the Pearly Pearls each week, and my enthusiasm has known no bounds ;)

    2. I was made to feel so loved by the nice parents of the generally nice children, and totally ignored by those I was anticipating being ignored by. Thankfully, no shock there! I was blessed with some lovely hugs from children and parents. Rose-tinted glasses are now on :)

    3. Our house is now like a florist's, boxes of chocolates are safely hidden from DD's magpieish fingers and the many bottles of prosecco are in the wine rack :)

    4. Took a colleague up on the offer of her spare room and had a few glasses of prosecco whilst out at the casino for the end of term do!

    5. Laughed inwardly at the sight of not sure how many teachers and TAs all carefully betting their 'free' £5-worth of chips. I was one of the biggest winners, with £28 :)

    6. My first day of the holidays yesterday - went into old school to make sure I'd taken all of my documents off the shared drive and then to new school to start setting up my new classroom!

Good morning from early o'clock. Watching the light start to come up over the pentland hills , about to make OH porridge then off we start our looong journey home!

We've had a wonderful week although we can see tumour has grown and spread which is alarming to say the least, we just want to get back home to Melbourne safely and the comfort of knowing our doctors are there.

We have laughed and laughed which is so good for the soul.

We've been hugged and squeezed and loved and I feel very buoyed up on that love and friendship.

We've eaten ( well I have ) about a month's worth of cakes in a week....looking forward to my fruit platter on the plane.

I've seen my great niece , who just seems to accepts she sees her Great Auntie every 2 years or so and we fit like a glove with each other. I love her to bits!

I can talk as quickly as I like, use familiar local words and be understood...I have not been asked to repeat myself all week, how novel!

I've seen lovely British birds and lovely British flowers but actually was surprised when I found an indigenous Australian plant , the bottlebrush in our local castle's garden! I've been woken up by a blackbird singing every morning instead of the magpies warbling back home.

I am lucky to consider I have 2 homes , which I hold both dearly in my heart.

We went to see the Kelpies yesterday , stunning beasts of metal.love them.

Had a lovely dog walk with aunt and cousin yesterday...."will it be dry ? I only have my sandals. " ....cue walking through a quagmire .

Lovely and simple dinner of macaroni cheese and cottage pie .

My aunt and uncle have been a constant of my life, always encouraging, warm and welcoming so it's a true pleasure to have stayed with them for our last night ... They also live near the airport :) and oh...the joy of limitless internet!

Right , got to go, catch up when I can.

Dearest mhags and OH, quickly here [looking oh-so glam with Marge Simpson conditioner pile-up on head]in order to wave as you pass over our collective upwards smiling heads.
We're beaming, all waving and sending every smidgeon of love that's as real as this is virtual.
I'm walking down to Vicarage shortly, no Haggis with me, but by golly! that boy needs his man and his mam back asap.
&'s maman is eating all the vanilla slices so OH doesn't have to.

Blessings and happy homeward landings, &.
