Been MIA for a while. Gutted to hear your news Mhags, God bless you and yours xx
Five pleasures for today;
1. A lovely day at work. Teaching is a funny one these days. Much of it goes against the grain and the admin sucks the fun out of it but I do love those kids:)
2. Left over pasta bake for tea. Delicious and no cooking.
3. Garden looks lovely. Tidy and colourful.
4. Unexpectedly bumped into my sister and had a lovely chat.
5. Thoroughly enjoying my new book that was passed on to me by a collegue.

I've never been able to get my head round the fact that you are not only getting up, but that it's tomorrow! Hope you have a good Thursday, MHags.
Pleasures for today:
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) OK day at work. Wore my new outfit (well, top from Sainsburys, rather nice knitted cotton cardie from charity shop, prev M and S). I almost looked as though I had chosen my clothes intentionally!
3) No rain today.
4) Went on the allotment a bit. Bigger son dug up the first of the new potatoes and I picked raspberries. A 2 egg day.
5) Things came from British Hen Welfare Trust in the post. Some grit for the hens and a "small man size" T shirt for me. I don't know any men THAT small. I forced my way into it and smaller son looked a bit startled and said "It's not really designed for ladies in the...front... is it?" and I could see what he meant when I looked down! So I peeled it off again.
6) Made a chow mein for tea.
7) Did lots of gardening - weeding and sweeping.
8) Watched the Wales match. Smaller son, "Why are you crying already?" Me, "Because Alex Ferguson has learned the national anthem!" Sniff.
9) In bed now and might do some German or may watch Casualty. A colleague at school is teaching me a bit of Italian before we go on holiday. :-)
oh, and 10) Smaller son enjoyed his taster days at his upper site bit of school and bigger son is doing A level taster days at his school's sixth form bit tomorrow and Friday.0 -
Mhags - Mrs L said it so well, thinking of you all (((hugs)))0

Mhags - much love being sent your way. Prayers being said.
As a family you have such strength which will help in creating lasting good memories. Xxx0 -
Evening and thank you all once again for your kindness, it really does mean such a lot.
I have just pinched a roast potato out of the oven ! Very nice! We are having chicken wrapped in soft cheese and bacon..we are having cooked ones ..Haggis pinched a raw one! Bad dog.
My car wouldn't start this morning, bit of a cough and a splutter and then nothing, so instead of supermarket we went to local shops and got enough.
Trying desperately to catch up on laundry. Wet washing hanging around. Sigh....for long summer days and washing dried in half an hour ( nah...not really)
Reading lovely emails and messages from friends and family.
Lengthy chat with my sister at 3.30 am! Back to bed at 5am and dozed for another couple of hours.
Marathon Corrie watching session.
Have a lovely day0 -
I haven't posted for a while, been a bit tricky here, but I was so VERY sorry mhagster to read your news. Echoing MrsLWs sentiments and sending you my very best wishes.
DundeeDoll - another Dorothy Dunnett fan. How lovely!! Think reading your post about your meeting in Edinburgh was my first pleasure today
My second was being discharged from the hospital yesterday after seeing my own cardiologist. Back to the care of the surgery. She was more than happy with my recovery and says I am a sensible and intelligent woman!!! Still reeling from the shock of two compliments AND a positive outcome. Still have a link to the hospital I can use if things deteriorate suddenly (fingers crossed that they don't but you never know)but such a huge relief that I embarrassed myself and cried in the waiting room when I came out, causing a huge family panic. Foolish woman that I am0 -
Aye proper tea. Wince of milk. Cha.
5 Not a lot we can say. See above! Just remember when mum BoP went, she said in her room she could see heaven. I thought the old, well old at 52, 31 years back, had gone nuts. No. She gets up,matured and pointed. Blundell park. Theatre of Fish. She lived for her football. Still,my did get use of her season ticket!
4 Just uploaded a cv so back in hunt at last.
3 Bit Kate today as been busy doing BoP things. There, better. No curry for tea today, had to make do with pork pie and fresh garden salad.
2 Night watching the lasses thrashing leather on willow again. It's cricket.
Blow today, it is gone. Tomorrow it is history.0 -
Cappella, What a relief.
BOP, Good luck for the work hunting.
1. Washing line dried.
2. Bye jove is it time to unpack the summer clothes box, that will make sure it rains..:o
3. Dinner using up anything from the fridge ham, salad and spuds.
4. Picked up veg and bread with a couple of sets of garden lights from £idl, as you do, still keeping a close eye on prices.
5. I find out tomorrow about my job, as it’s a contract may or may not go on, I am sitting on the fence I don’t mind, it will be useful to know both for budget planning and as I will extend our planned break away if not which would be a nice positive.:rotfl: And another positive it’s time to sort the food cupboards out.:o
6. Loads of passionflowers out, we bought it as a cutting for a pound about 2 years ago and it looks incredible around the trellises.:)0 -
Hi everyone.
1. Cleared all odds and ends out of fridge and cupboards before I went shopping and turned it into flapjack, chocolate crispie cakes, quiche and vegetable soup. Also helped keep food spend under budget
2. A bike ride before tea.
3. Leftovers from freezer for lunch and tea . Love having nice food but not having to cook on a work day
4. Late start at work so I had a lie in, coffee and a good read in bed and breakfast with DD without having to rush.
5. Peaceful day at work.
