Sparras back on the nest!
5 Looks like the last of the Golden Flakes are going to be smothered this week with ice cold milk and one shake. Still, got bar guns last eve on Fish. I said the snorkers were finite. They are. Done! More on the use of the fish later the week.
4 There that is that said. Getting pills for my op this day, some cloppy dog rels! Stunning. Has to take for a year minimum. Far too many pills now!
3 Did the crosswords this morning in 8 minutes, and the other quizzes were polished off well before BoPsie rose from her slumber and had her Golden Flakes of corn.
2 Watched the Speedway last evening. You get an even game, and a mixed crowd. Strange that!
Looks like we had a self imposed unplatforming!0 -
Love the Speedway BOP we used to go every week to watch Canterbury Crusaders in our YOUF!!! smashing crowd and we're finding the same nice type of folks at rugby matches nowadays, none of the HooliWooliganism of Football and all very good natured!
1) Just been up and picked another pound and a half of lovely ripe strawberries from the garden plot.
2) Found a nice sturdy wooden tractor and trailer for the Zebra child in a charity shop this morning.
3) Nice Cookie walk today, warm wind made it comfortable to be out in short sleeves although it flapped things around and she had to check out every thing she didn't understand, curious little hound she is.
4) Trip to town produced some new jeans, a couple of smart teeshirts and a much reduced pair of summer shoes in the Clarks sale.
5) Tennis on the TV SUPER STUFF!0 -
Pleasures for today:
1) Not too bad a sleep.
2) Work bearable and made more exciting by flash flooding which came through 2 different entrances so we had to use the out of bounds stairs!
3) Did lots of French and German learning on DuoLingo.
4) Went to town for a cup of tea with my school friend.
5) Quorn pie for tea.
6) Went to see the hens at which point there was another cloud burst! We were halfway through moving the run so had to carry on regardless. :-/0 -
On a train back from lahndan.. Another day, another train.
yayy Sparrer's back and homemade chicken bread is making me laugh... :rotfl:
So, pleasures
1. a day of furniture painting on sunday. Chest of drawers is rather pinker than i imagined, though the paint is called Nougat, so i should have guessed. Bookcase is white with a danish oiled top - gradually losing the orange pine.
2 OH and DS were out all day, sunday. weather was filthy so glad i was mostly in. Got DD to drive the car. She passed her test last january (2015) and hasn't driven since, so i needed to force her. She needs P plates....
3. Cooked roast chicken dinner on saturday - had left overs with avocado and salad on sunday. was ok....
4. Best friends mum died yesterday. no pleasure, just needed to write it somewhere.... Brought back when my mum wentThere is a pleasure - phoned my schoolfriends with the news and it was nice to chat with them, even in sad circumsances.
5. I have walked my little tootsies off today in London - I've probably done 7 miles and i aint' home yet.
6. Stewardess on the train has given us loads of (chocolate) Ugli bars. they're me fave
7. nice pizza in a restaurant on the South Bank. i rarely eat carbs but with all the walking, i reckon I will burn them off...
8. Spent all day in a library doing archival research. I always thought I would enjoy that - but it was a bit dull. ; nice place to work though (the RICS on Parliament square).
Night night all, won't be home for nearly an hour. . And I'm back tomorrow :eek:I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
1. DS2 went to help MIL with various odd jobs. Most were outside so he had to dodge the rain.
2. Work was busy but someone had brought in cheese and French bread for us all. The cheese was lovely.
3. Chat with a friend - it was good to catch up.
4. Watering my post and hanging baskets which are looking good.
I have grown the plants from seed so am very pleased with them this year.
5. Enjoyed watching football with DS2 and DH. DS2 is so much calmer watching football than rugby.0 -
It's late Wednesday afternoon, sun still shining and bright but chilly. Need to bring washing in before it starts to get damp.
Up early and lovely chat to friend from home....so much to chat about!
Ironed, washings done, hoovered, bed stripped ( must remember to remake before bedtime) , bathrooms cleaned.
Got our postal vote ...blooming 'eck! You either vote ( in order of preference ) 1-6 above the line....or 1-12 below the line......cyclists party anybody? Our first election that we can vote in is when we are on holiday. The form is about 3 foot wide!
We have a very large family room which has dark wood paneling which I loath. We have persmsison to paint but then OH was ill and it never got done and paint is very expensive ....anyway, the panelling is also in my office so in my wisdom today I decided to paint it. So I walked up to the hardware store and was looking at paint ($35/litre) when the man who worked there asked if I needed help, told him what I needed it for, so he said he had a 6litre pot that had been made up for someone last week and they never collected it , I could have it at a cheaper price if I liked it. Monterey White ...cream rather than white and would $30 be okay? Absolutely
So I've spent the afternoon painting the office with a little help from girls , had to deal with a few spiders along the way ...yikes! I'm hoping it doesn't need a third coat. Listened to Uk radio as I painted. I also seem to have painted myself.
Making a shepherds pie for tea so need to think about peeling some spuds.
DD2 has only one exam to go.
Right, better get washing in.
Have a lovely day0 -
Oi, you lot settle!
5 If you get BoP on your side, there is more fur than you can take. Raffles, King of the Toms round our Parish, had a mega treat yesterday. BoP, with his Raspberry Jelly this week, and oranges, dipped his ice of chocs into the bowl, missed and slammed onto the floor. he finished it! Had to take another out of the freezer!
4 And then only had to chop up the strawbs for tea, And add ice of choc for BoPsie for hers as well, Tum was well rubbed again!
3 But this morning we had kitchen disaster. Thought we has enough of the toasted golden flakes for the week and only had enuff for the BoPsie bowl of cereal. Had to quickly do some hot buttered and marmite toast, early inn the week, topped with an egg out of the frying pan. Rubs Tum. That's one egg down!
2 Day, does BoP go out and get some snap crackle BrekFest, or think of hot buttered toast and blackcurrent jam. Now BoP is thinking, could be mega dippy egg session!
It will be different!0 -

2. I found my perfect maxi dress, I would never have thought it would fit but it looks really great and it was 70% off in one of those flash store sales next to work.:j
3. Toad in the hole tonight, when I’ve finished watching the Simpsons.:o:o
4. I’m going to change our bedding and pet bedding tonight, then a bath should be nice for the night.:)
5. Bird feeders re stocked, I had to wait for the fussy bu%%ers to eat the stuff they aren’t so keen on.
6. Nice to be feeling quite so positive.0 -
Funny sort of day.
1) Not a bad sleep but woken early by the cat.
2) Didn't rain ALL day and work didn't flood again!
3) Went to see the hens. 1 egg today.
4) Made salmon, peas and pasta for tea then rhubarb from the garden with tinned peaches and custard.
5) Watched 24 Hours in Police Custody which is always interesting.0 -
Hi,I am a returner to MSE - not been on for a while so created a new user as I forgot my log in details.
Anyway, I am feeling a bit low at the moment for a variety of reasons so I think it is good to focus on some positives. So, here are my 5 positive OS things from today:
1. Got quite a bit of work done today (struggling with concentrating at the moment so this is a good thing).
2 DD1 went to her new dance class today which she loved, so it made me happy to see her happy.
3. I had a short walk, which was good to have a little 'me time'.
4. DD2 made me laugh by telling me she wanted to play giraffes with me (draughts)
5. Had my current favourite breakfast this morning - Greek yogurt, fresh strawberries and some nut, dried fruit & seed mix for a bit of crunch.
Feeling a bit more positive already0
