    Pleasures for today (Thursday)

    1) A lie in.

    2) Got places on our holiday organised by Autism West Midlands - hoorah! This did then mean having to completely rearrange our trip to Switzerland for 2 weeks earlier in August :-/ Cue cancelling and reinstating hotel, NOT being able to get same youth hostel in Germany so having to find another, rebooking Swiss army knife factory trip... Took 2 hours!

    3) Went to let the hens out (I imagine they are missing bigger son). 3 eggs today.

    4) Went to Ludlow but there was not a parking space to be had in the whole town. So I went to look at Knighton (not very interesting) and Presteigne (slightly better). Presteigne always called Press tee IG knee in our house. Stopped in Ludlow on the way home but nothing interesting in the charity shops.

    5) Went swimming with my brother.

    6) Tea at mum and dad's.

    7) Caught up with Holby City.

In bed now as have to be at Land Registry Coventry for 8.30. It's a good 1.5 hour drive and I want to be there early to park...

to add to the fun, my driver's window in the car is now stuck permanently slightly open. If it rains overnight, I'll be sitting on a bin bag.

Not looking forward to this meeting as it involves finding out which bit of my divorce is not legal...

5 Still undecided whether BoP is to be ceremoniously killed off! Happened to mention trinkets and darlings in the same thread, obviously someone objected, but it was the same words I had used a post above, just reiterated in the style of BoP. Butter, real butter, has solidified inn BoP's mouth! Cool, ice cool.

4 Elevenses this day, BoP is scoffinn proper wholemeal digestives, two of, in a proper loose leaf cup of tea. No dunking is involved. Other varieties if biscuit are available from the emporiums.

3 Juts bin to w8rs to get some bits inn and then some snorkers for the morning. Town was quiet foir a change.

2 Night BoPsie is out with her BoP! Wobbleades will be taken as refreshments.

You see the words as they are written, long before our peers rewrite the history of the event.
  • 1) Walking Cookie again as my heel is much better, she was so very pleased to see me when I went to get hr, bless her!

    2) Yesterday I picked the first really ripe strawberry from the garden, today I picked half a colander full, sweet, succulent and delicious.

    3) It seems to be a really good wild flower year and the roadside verges and woods are so pretty and colourful.

    4) The runner beans have finally sprouted, YAY!!!

    5) We got some glimpses of the sun this afternoon and I saw the very first swift of the year flying overhead when I went up to water the polytunnel this evening.
  • Wobbleades are going to be consumed, more later!

    A collection:

    1. Some lovely chats with new students.

    2. A super night at the live music club. I finally remembered to book tickets for a charity fundraiser tribute concert for our late soundman from the club at a town hall locally. So a great night out to look forward to next month.

    3. Visit of grandchildren and DD, DD went into Tidy Mode and sorted out so much for me, DGD made tortilla pizzas for us all for lunch. The clan left weighed down with various bits and pieces, so I was also decluttered.
DD's slow cooker had broken, so she got mine, it was hardly being used but will be used regularly at her house.

    4. This year the children who loved to fire footballs at my picture window and wreck the plants in the flowerbed fronting it have finally grown up and found alternative pursuits.
As a result my oriental poppies look beautiful. Dr C. split the plant last year when weeding, and the new plants that grew last autumn overwintered well, and have a flower or two each.

    5. A slightly longer than flying visit from Dr C. who also left weighed down with various bits of freebie clutter, obtained for him (E-cigs x 2, curtains, VR headset, headphones, Minions mug, sweets and choc I forgot to give him at Christmas, jeans...)
Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.

Some pleasures for the last few days,

The healing powers of sleep, bad headache on Wednesday so went to bed with HWB, slept for hours and woke up feeling much better.

We are surrounded by nesting birds, in the eaves of the gable end, in the chimney pots, in the hedges and even in the guttering above the the extractor fan in the en-suite. Funnily enough not one in the nesting box :rotfl:

The pink perfection of the azalea, burst of cheeriness in the wet misery of the last few days.

Meal out with friends, vodka tiramisu?... ok if you insist.

Not exactly Os but having my hair cut this morning, something about a good cut that makes you feel so much better about yourself.

Taking the long way home from the stables tonight so that could finish listening to the News quiz.

Gogglebox with wine and GB butterscotch choc.

Well! A long day for me today.

    1) Getting to Coventry by 8.15. This necessitated getting up and out of the house by 6a.m. :-/

    2) Finding the Land Registry, despite the satnav taking me through the very centre of Solihull.

    3) A chatty and helpful man who has sorted out 1 problem out of 3. We shall see what the Land Registry lawyers say about the other 2.

Also, they're really pushing this at the moment: https://www.gov.uk/government/news/new-free-counter-fraud-measure-from-land-registry-for-companies

It is free to sign up and stops your house being sold fraudulently.

    4) A cup of tea and a teacake at the Herbert Art Gallery and Museum. (They organised for me to go on my first ever archaeological dig but I'd never actually been inside until today!)

    5) A bit of geocaching.

    6) A quick trip to Coventry market for some flat peaches. They don't seem to be sold round here but there are always plenty there.

    7) A trip to Charlescote Park (NT).

    8) Another 3 egg day for the hens.

    9) Finally got passport delivery company to agree that my parents can sign for them tomorrow.

    10) Went swimming with my brother.

    11) Brother made my tea.

    12) Feebly started to clean the boys' room. Have put everything away, hoovered and changed the beds.

    13) Gogglebox.

    14) In bed with 2 hwb and about to watch HIGNFY or listen to the Now Show.

Off to see my school friend in Oxfordshire tomorrow,

    1. I was up early working from home for an early international conf call, so I get up about half an hour before hand to make sure I am awake and ready, and then the neighbour starts drilling at the wall when it started at 8am helpful, thankfully it was only occasional. :o
    2. A boiled egg with soldiers of course for brekkie.
    3. For lunch I changed our bedding, old in wash and new on, and same for the animals, and a grilled bacon roll, a productive lunch hour.
    4. DH closing my laptop at 4pm saying it’s Friday, so I then popped out ran a few errands, hoovered and then mopped all the floors.:p
    5. Carbs lots of carbs for tea, a cheesy pasta bake.:)

    1. Feeling a little better after wash out bank holiday weekend. Its been a struggle to go to work this week but couldn't risk more sick leave with the disciplinary measures enforced at work - managed a bacon roll for breakfast from the canteen mid morning !

    2. work over for another week and birds were singing when I emerged from our windowless, airless office at lunch time

    3. final presents arrived for DS's 21st next week. Personalised wrapping paper bought with batman and his name on is fab I'm sure he will love it as hes really into tv series gotham & the latest batman film. Visit to parcel office in town - not a pleasure to pay customs and Royal mail handling fee for another present from US but its a one-off gift cant be bought anywhere else and what he wanted so I took the hit £11.49 !

    4. had a naughty BK Cheeseburger in town but tasted delish and was only 99p. Have been eating what I fancy this week after being off my food all BH weekend ....

    5. .....chocolate brownie ice-cream :o
Have still managed to lose 4lb in a week according to scales this morning. Must try and keep it off !

Have a good weekend everyone x
