Comments

  • 1) Spending most of the day with DD2 and my Zebra child, shattered now but Oh So HAPPY!!!

    2) Chat with my lovely Sister in Law and arranging to have a 'Girls Film Afternoon' on whichever day is destined to be wet this Bank Holiday.

    3) Dodging a motorway blockage on our way home by taking the longer but less congested route through the country lanes.

    4) A lovely restorative cuppa or 3 when we did get home.

    5) He Who Knows is going to order us some plug plants of wild primroses and cowslips to put under the hedge in the front garden, they won't arrive until September but I love both flowers and shall so enjoy having them to look at in the garden.

    Quick pleasures for today:

    1) Not a bad sleep.

    2) Sons got up early to check the hens.

    3) ECG for bigger son was clear. Just the ultrasound to go now...

    4) Got to work an hour late (see 3) and it went OK today. Colleague brought me in a muntjak shoulder and I think we'll have that for lunch tomorrow.

    5) New washer/dryer arrived!

    6) Court paperwork arrived (to do with sorting out house deeds) and has thrown me into a flat spin. It mentions a statutory charge (?) which is also mentioned on the deeds. I probably do owe legal aid something (paid for most of it outright). I can't find out how much! I phoned the right number and they had no record of the divorce number, the deeds number, my name, former name, address - perhaps I don't owe anything???? Perhaps my bill never reached them? Very worried.

It also mentions part of the house should have been put in trust to sons - within 28 days of the divorce. There isn't a trust :-/ There never has been. This is going to be appalling to sort out.

Pleasure is the paperwork is FINALLY HERE. Was sent wrong papers then took 3 more phone calls to prise this off them.

    7) Went swimming with sons and my brother.

    8) Bigger son helped me move the hens onto fresh grass and he put in 2 new perches. He is quite peeved that they haven't used them yet! 1 egg today.

    9) Watched Gogglebox.

    Good evening .

After a very relaxed Friday ( read ....did nothing !) it was back to work today. I was rather not looking forward to going in, usually I'm in very early , I was still early but not as early as I would normally be. I've not felt like that about work for a while. Anyway, the day was okay. We were steadily busy and I will do the same all over again tomorrow

OH came in for a coffee and we went home together.

Brought burgers home that need used up.

Grocery shopping. A few things rtc, a few things on offer and another gift card topped up for our holiday.

Lovely welcome home from my dog ...less than lovely welcome from DD2 who was locked out ! Serves her right for not taking her key!

    Have a great weekend :)

You decide, has BoP Passed or Failed his MOT.

5 MOT carried out on Jenny yesterday. BP 118/58. Cholesterol 3.9 1.9. Now what has BoP said about eating properly and non of that emulsifier stuff. Remember Glycerine was introduce to fatten up Turkeys for Thanksgiving. Add a drop of colour and hey presto, you spread it with a knife. Emulsions coat walls, not your veins!

    Eat properly like BoP

4 Treadmill test carried out, no longs collapse. Well, after single pneumonia twenty plus years ago, what do you expect! Oh no, BoP has to undergo the ultra imaging to see if the kink on his heart has got worse. No worries, as BoP not going downstairs yet!

3 Me and BoPsie went into town last evening on the WosTer train, to Stroud. BoP had a quart of decent wobbleade and Tikka Bites. Rubs Tum. BoPsie also had wobbleade, as she does not like that gassed nitrogen infused chemical mix called lager. Again proper foods, not that corn pulp glucose cardboard type snacks either. Wobbleade has a head, not foam. Apply the same rules to coffee!

Now, as you see that BoP's BP is inn good order, for eating proper foods, let youy know that the so called creams etc you see on them 14 week old cakes in the emporiums. Well most is made from rusks of corn, developed by the Russians during food shortages in the 70's. A rich glucose syrup! Now, what else do they do with that rusk waste. Oh, think of a Mexican sounding name, mush it up, roll it and bake. You know them as Tortillo! Avoid.

2 Night is the usual sticky chicken. This week we have had double sticky chicken. Last night we had proper chunked mushroom curry, with toe nailed onions, saffron rice, and sticky chicken pieces. Rubs Tum! Raffles even tried to join inn as well!

Oh, and the usual fest this morning of double snorker, best back, mushrooms, fried tatties, grilled toms, SpagYetti hoops, and hot buttered toast topped with poached egg! Rubs Tum.

Come up and see the sun shine!

    Some pleasures for yesterday,

Picking up some goodies for the BH w/e in Mr Sparks, used voucher so money off, ooh and another voucher to use next time.

Cold so chicken and pearl barley soup for lunch, used to hate PB as a child but now love it.

Went over to see Bill, just got to the top paddock and a hailstorm hit, nowhere to hide in the flat fens so took shelter behind my lad :rotfl:

Gogglebox followed by final episode of Flowers.

    And for today,

Much milder so most of the day spent outside.

Spent the morning in the garden, weeding and tidying up my herb garden, perfect for Beltane Eve.

From the tiny garden spiders to the constant movement of birds around the hedges the whole area is teeming with wildlife. The apple tree seems a couple of weeks behind other fruit trees and the leaves are only just coming out, the pink blossom will be next.

Washing done and dried, smelling of outside and fresh air.

Now watching, and enjoying coastal walks with my dog.

    Pleasures for today (Saturday).

    1) A lie in!

    2) Smaller son went to the motor racing with my brother.

    3) Bigger son worked on the allotment all day, constructing a small shed to keep the tools in.

    4) I pruned lots of the overhanging trees down the hedge side and watched the hens.

    5) Sausage sandwiches for lunch. Muntjak for tea was very brown and boring. :-( The gravy with it was quite nice, though. Wouldn't rush to have it again, much prefer pheasant or pigeon.

    6) Went swimming with sons and my brother.

    7) Popped down to cover the hen run at 8ish (still worried they won't find their way back into the sleeping end). 2 eggs today. Barbara is the most intelligent of the chickens by far. :-D She stood for ages looking at the perch bigger son put in yesterday. Then flew up and sat on it! Smaller son very pleased by this. She does a lot of standing still and stretching up and gazing about, as though she is plotting... She kept walking into the sleeping end and tapping but when we opened the door of the nestbox, she stopped immediately and gazed at us! We never did find out what she was doing.

    8) Watched Casualty and ate cornflake cakes.

    Good morning all...
Right. It's May, it's my time of year, (birthday mid month), time to cast off winter shackles.

    1. Meal out with friend. A third friend who was supposed to be joining us had the car break down en route so the next meal out will be sooner rather than later. Good.

    2. Tried a Jack Monroe teabread recipe involving white chocolate and tea that was very, very nice. Mine didn't come out like hers did (chocolate chunks too big?) but was more of a blondie. It was a lovely treat, all the same.

    3. Read two brilliant biographies. One a freebie, Dan Waddell's biography of his Dad, Sid, 'The Voice of Darts'
The other, Graham Norton's autobiography, The Life and Loves of a He Devil. Not as scandalous as you might think from the blurb, thankfully.

    4. Lots of freebie stuff, not very OS, perhaps, but most of it destined to be given away. Most useful, probably a slow-eat dog bowl for little Walter,
Some parcels were delivered next door and the member of staff who carried the pile across for me went back with a nice little vehicle set for her three year old nephew. I have recipients lined up for other items. Dr C. now has a smashing pair of curtains for his old Victorian rental house, I had gently nagged him about getting similar from a charity shop.

    5. Being back. I will have to read back on what I've missed... I may be some time.
Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.
  • Well it is Sunday!

5 PM2DD #UTM Oh no, the plan to play Forest Green by finishing fith has gone awry. They won! Now we have to play the upstarts and current form team, Braintree! Looks like next year!

4 Breakfast this morning BoP had a delicious bowl of golden toasted flakes, with ice cold skimmed milk. Real food. Toast and Hot buttered, salted, Jam was also washed down with proper loose leaf tea! Please remember that if tea was meant to be white they would put the cows in the plantations! Fresh squeezed orange and lemonade was poured as well! Rubs Tum!

3 Went to emporium of w8rs this morning with BoPsie. The week shopping came to a massive £17 and a few pennies. Proper foods were purchased, including mini peeling oranges, and nasty pasta items. Dog Chilli is on the brew for the stove this week. Other emporiums will rip you off!

2 Night for tea, is Dog Chilli. Snorkers in a rich chilliness, with mushrooms, beans of kidney. Served with Special BoP Fried Rice. Tums will be rubbed. BoP also licked the spoons this morning as a fresh ginger and chocolate steamed pudding has been made. It is now on the stove being bubbled away. Instant fresh lumpy custard will be served as well. As I got the BoP pleasure, jelly, this morning saw the packets of foamed custard by Aunt BaySee! It is full of carp. Avoid! Last night the Sticky Chicken was soon rid of the plate, and tums were rubbed. Wobbleade, probably far too much, was consumed!

Look you got no problem when you smile, it melts their heart!

    DigforVictory Thank you:)

    Today's pleasures
    1. Another yard of brambles and nettles dug out of the new allotment before it poured down today.
    2. Appetising scent of roast chicken wafting through the house.
    3. An allotment neighbour gifted us slices of homemade lemon and poppyseed cake :) Delicious with a mug of strong tea after fighting with thorns.
    4. Goldfinches on the bird feeders here in the garden. So pretty, but little bullies as well!! They drive the sparrows off the sunflower hearts very fiercely.
    5. Glorious display of red and yellow tulips, despite the dogs best efforts to destroy them.
