Ooo, ice cream town! Haven't been there for a while.

    Pleasures for today:

    1) Went to sleep probably before 10pm last night so a good sleep!

    2) Work not too bad.

    3) Someone brought in a piece of Christmas cake (well, several, but I had only one piece!) and it was lovely.

    4) Quite a rigmarole after work. Had to get smaller son's school taxi to drive him to bigger son's school. Bigger son had to run from school to be there ready for the taxi. I had to drive at some speed from my work to bigger son's school to try and intercept them!

Then we all went off to the gym (!) as bigger son has signed up... He did his induction while smaller son and I had a cup of tea in the caf! (and we did have a giggle at all the men leaving the gym with the "gym walk" - arms always swinging about 20cm from their sides!!)

    5) Got to wave to former colleague outside bigger son's school (he was only at my work for a term then transferred to the other high school).

    6) Indian takeaway for tea- hoorah!

    7) We caught up on the jobs I did not do yesterday due to going to bed so early.

    8) Read Kasper Kandinsky to smaller son (his Christmas stocking book).

    9) Enjoyed watching First Dates.

    10) In bed with 1 hwb and will listen to the News Quiz just now.

Good evening, we now have a very pleasant night after a day of rain but we need the rain so I'm grateful for it. Pleasantly cool too :)

Work : a bit of a love/ hate relationship at the moment. Yesterday was foul however today was better. We have a new girl who's started working with us, she's nice and bubbly but hello love......some of us have been here since 6.30am ...as she made herself a salad and went and sat outside for a break! Had a subtle word!

Went out after work today with OH and had a very nice Apple and pistachio cake, with a marscapone topping.

Lovely welcome home from Haggis Dog, what a handsome boy.

Somebody left used scratch cards on their plate yesterday ...one of them was a $2 winning ticket. Exchanged them for some new ones and ooooh I won $12.

One more day of work to go before off again......I can do it!

    Have a great weekend!
  • 1. thank goodness its the weekend !
Awful week at work - now a call centre - lost my voice by Friday :(

    2. lovely chat with union rep (day before I lost my voice !) who was very supportive and will attend occ health meeting with me

    3. have been sleeping a lot - feel shattered so obviously need it as I am normally lucky to get 6 hours. Came home one day at 3.30 (started at 7.30) and fell asleep at 4pm on the sofa - then woke when eastenders music came on. Switched tv off (hate eastenders) had dinner and went to bed - then slept till 6am when the alarm went off !

    4. The weather has warmed up again the last few days ... and the sun is shining today :)

    5. my new boots bought online in the sales arrived at my local newsagents and one pair are a fabulous fit and so very comfy like a pair of slippers . I hate going shopping so it was great to order online and collect locally and its very rare for me to find boots that fit so well with the shoe inserts I have to wear so that was a real pleasure. The other pair a size larger can be returned free.

Have a good weekend everyone x

Catching up after a bit of time off the site.

1-100 The NHS - a week ago, my mummykins had a horrible accident at home. I found her, it was all too close to home for me as I've done similar in the past (ankle :( ). The paramedics came, scooped her up after a few hours of stabilising her condition, and she's tucked up in one of the finest hospitals in the country being looked after fantastically by the nurses and doctors.

101-2000 My DD! The little kitty has only gone and won the academic scholarship to the senior school :):) :) So proud of my baby's achievements and have emailed her teachers to thank them for their efforts and care that they have shown her since she started with them a year ago.

2001 The celebration breakfast of pains au chocolat and apple juice that DD and I are about to go and devour once we can drag ourselves out of bed.

2002 My lovely friend P, who has taken time out of her own busy teaching schedule, to email me some lesson plans as I've got enough on my plate with stepping up my mummy/caring duties, dealing with my hellish class and keeping up to date with all the flipping marking :)
  • Breakfast done. Rubs Tum. Where next?
  • Kittikins - well done to Miss Kitty on winning her scholarship !!Sorry to hear about your Mummykins - hope she is on the mend soon x

Come on BoP - more clues please !

Saturday morning lie in bliss. Wishing all well, including those with trying jobs. Best wishes to kk mum, and well done kk's dd 5 for yesterday
    1) long morning, snuck off for lunch 1:10. Hm turkey and leek stew with rice. Very nom, and now just 2 pieces of turkey in the freezer (ys crown after Christmas, cooked quartered and frozen beg Jan)
    2) colleague came up to staff coffee room and we discussed marker training for Monday. Both feeing a bit brain dead so nice to have change restful discussion rather than hunch over computer
    3) she gave me a lift to town after work, saving me the bus fare
    4) friend's birthday. He had a bring a cheese party. Bought very nice chilli Brie, tomatoes and ciabatta (they were out of baton) and of course wine at mr l
    5) very fun evening spent eating 5 of the 6 cheeses (I don't do Stilton) and playing board games. Eschewed taxi, so whole evening cost £7.21 plus the pound for his CS book pressie and £1,49 funny card in same CS. It said 'congratulations, this is the oldest you've ever been' and wrote inside he could reuse it every year :-)

Very surprised Raffles hasn't called in his Union Rep. Since he assumed Command, many establisheds by which he was wooed are being scuttled left, left and centre:-) Latest being Lady Bopsie and bop floating off between one rub tum and another.

Wonderful news kk - felt it could be no other, but wanted to wait, not word, until. Yes, wherever needed in our luckier parts of world, emergency service personnel turn up, do, are outstanding. That said, linger over your pains au choc et jus de pomme. Well, hugely well, done C.

skint - sleeping for health, Raffles is your template[all cats actually, but whisper that]

dfv - Scout Motto. 'xx xxxxxxxx'. You do same please:-)
