1. 2 hwbs going fine here, Frith. Very cold today. Rhubarb still blanketed.
2. Non-stop working day, nearly nil to show. One of those. Never mind. Stopping now.
3, Again, phone mucking with enzed, this time non-famberley biz. Eventually spoke with someone. Annoyingly, must rtn to town of horse early to complete arrangements, when Spits prep. needs &'s all-day attentions. Had intended half of today thus too. More Never Mind.
4. Heard 'Game, Set and Fix' File on 4 tonight. More 'Oh dear' for wimbo phanatic &.

Can't believe your shoes went unremarked, Frith - not so here :-)
dd - my goodness. Your Hurrrchhhrrs crimbo labyrinth was exceeding ott, even titchneresque in its twisting elaborations. No wonder new colleague loved it:-)

Woke up Sunday night with a swollen left side of my face ear and neck with some serious pain, the dentist fitted me in Monday evening by which point I was a bit of a state, thankfully teeth are fine, but a rather large gum abscess spreading infection making me feel very unwell, 2 loads of antibiotics and it feels like it’s kicking in now.
1. The antibiotics seem to be working but I thought they would be quicker or I would feel much better by now I’m just impatient.:o:o
2. Easy cold quiche with new pots and beans for tea.
3. My interview came up, but I had to postpone it due to the above, hoping it will be later this week should hear back tomorrow.
4. Watched a silly horror film so bad it had me laughing.:rotfl:0 -
Thanks DD - not even applying for job though - not right to my family so not right for me!
Pleasures after a bad start (not good sleep and had managed to switch alarm off slept in and had to do both school runs due to missed buses!)
1. NSD - as I left purse at home in the chaos!
2. Still working through store cupboard and freezer and still eating well! (Pork, veg and potatoes tonight, bottom of fridge soup for lunch tomorrow and stew in slow cooker for tomorrow night! )
3. Rev mum taken flat and moving in on 15th Feb - I'm already off work (half term) so can help with the move
4. DS got paper round (feeling that this might not be a pleasure for me but he is over the moon!!)
5. Lovely chat with University lecturer about a PhD part time - lots to think about but probably not the right time this year0 -
Old fogey alert! Old fogey alert!
I am now the proud owner of my first ever pair of reading glasses.....and have just purchased a cord to go round my neck to hang them there when not using!
Day off number 2, I awoke to the joyful sound of raindrops. What a wonderful sound when it's so desperately needed.
Appointment at opticians to resit field test for peripheral vision and to pick up glasses.....passed test this week and tried on new specs......er.....I can't see to read with them....yes, love they are distance ones....well, no love....they should be reading ones! Anyway , problem duly sorted with a bit more of a wait and its a miracle....words are so clear! However , I am wondering if I should just have got bifocals as they are off/ on / off again...hence need for old fogey cord!
Went out for some brunch with OH, I could read the menu with my new glasses! ''Twas amazing!
Then home and read my book with my new miracle working glasses , may have snoozed then finished book.
Nice dog walk with OH and Haggis, took books back to library and chose 2 more and then spent the grand sum of $1.95 on a cord for specs. I have misplaced a book from before christmas so have once again renewed it . I'm on my final renewal though so may have to pay for a replacement.cannot think what's happened to it.
My boss sent me a link to a rather nice review of the cafe ( I'm rather scared of reviews incase they're horrid) my cakes were photographed and I felt ever so pleased!
Do have a day most lovely.
PS no offence meant to anyone reading this with their glasses attached to them by cord or chain or as I saw fancy necklace type thing!0 -

McHags: I caved to bifocals, as I know I would lose pairs, and I like being able to see, but I’ve had to get used to trying to keep them on, and they take a little getting used to but it’s worth it, the transition lenses also work surprisingly well.
1. It was lovely to pop out today, picked up an order for DH and went to Lidl which worked shopping magic on me – ho hum I have been after a big casserole dish, but they were all too expensive even in the sale but they were lovely, Lidl had a plain glass 3 litre one which is fine for a fiver.:money: Oh and a lovely little plant which has come home for 1.50, :opicked up the animal chicken with 30 percent off which is handy, so considering I only went in for milk and bread I failed miserably.:rotfl:
2. Feeling a lot improved today, I may rattle a little but feeling much better.
3. Made a tuna sarnie with the fresh bread was delicious.
4. Cleaned out the fridge, made bread pudding with leftovers and rest to birds. The washing is also up to date now and drying on various radiators.
5. I’ve just printed off 4 coupons thanks to MSE.
6. This evening is relaxing with a great book0 -
Hands up here for a wearer of varifocals, only take them off for reading a book, then it's nose on page like Mr Magoo...
Some pleasures for last couple of days,
Along with the four male pheasants, we now have a female visiting the garden, on Monday she scraped a hole in the ground and sun-bathed in it, gorgeous.
Went out to the shed to inspect the apple stores and only one had gone bad, not wrapped or anything just spaced out on the potting bench, the apples that is not Lainey.
Heard back re job, have an interview on Friday.
Had a date afternoon with Captain Scarlet, went to see the SW film, held hands and surreptitiously scoffed Xmas chocs.
Driving home from BuryStEd, mist hanging over the fields, temperature dropping, bbrrr.
Well wishes to poorly dental folk x0 -
BoP tonight is watching inn monochrome. BoPsie refused a Monroe, but I got a Rita instead!
5-2 Rita Hayworth. The Lady from Shanghai. Need I say anymore?
Not everything is coloured, just now it will be wet paint!0 -
Pleasures for today (Wednesday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Got a lovely, long sit down. In the car, with traffic lights in the next village meaning the traffic (such as it is) was backed up for over half an hour! To add insult to injury, it was -5 this morning and I wound the driver's window down to turn safely at the junction in my village then it wouldn't do up again!!
3) Work wasn't too bad.
4) We went to town so smaller son could buy some new headphones.
5) Cheated and had tea in Sainsburys.
6) Did half an hour of Wii Fit whilst watching 24 Hours in A and E.
7) Sons helped me bring more logs in.
8) In bed with 1 hwb.0
