Tuesday evening here, just had pasta and a carbonara-esque sauce. Rather yummy.
Sitting in the family room that is now back to normal! All furniture back where it should be having been moved around to accommodate a tree.
We have been out since early this morning, DS had asked if we would take him to the Yooyangs, so he could mountain bike. We dropped him off and then headed over to Geelong which is a seaside city.
We had just dropped son off at top of the ranges and saw a little echidna walking in the bush. Got out of car and observed it quietly ....it observed us quietly too....have they gone yet? Noooo! ....have they gone yet? Ooh I will just close my eyes and pretend they're not there! Most fabulous!
Stopped for a coffee, having taken a wrong turn . It was lovely. Had a 'crazy slice" it was an Oreo biscuit base, topped with peanuts caramel and chocolate. So rich, need never eat another one.
Sat on grass overlooking sea for a while.
Had a wander then it was time to go back for boyo. I dozed off on way home and woke up just as we arrived in our wee town, which was just perfect timing!
Have a good one0 -

Inability to

Some pleasures for yesterday,
After all the excitement of the day before was nice to have a lazy start to the day.
Last of the smoked salmon with scrambled eggs for breakfast.
Took the girls for a leisurely walk, Mum came too as sunny and not too windy, big dog brought "Grandma" every stick she could find.
Quiet at the yard so just me and Bill went for a walk down the lane, once again terrorised by the geese, am positive they lay in wait for us. Equine pal had just calmed down when bloke in one of the few houses turned on power hose to clean car, thought we would end up in next county!
Enjoyed last episode of AC serial on tv although had to use cushion protection for some scary scenes.
Frith. - really enjoyed reading your post re Grandparents and how lovely that you could find out more about ypur GF, thank you for sharing.
Lyn. - how Zebra child must love his Oma, you have so much fun together.0 -
Sneaky day in work today. So nice when the uni is officially shut. Have actually got my emails down to 63 (believe me, that will be a very good start to the year!) and taking a short break from what brought me in - the final draft of PhD student's thesis. Up to page 29 / 261, but 188 onwards are refs and appendices. Have read most of it before, so should be a final finesse. 5 for yesterday
1) another lie-in, courtesy of ds who once again walked the dogs
2) lunch was a lish hm turkey and leek soup
3) Star Wars with ds for 12:30 showing - very much enjoyed it in all its 3d glory (and yes, still remember going to the original with my parents and sister in the old ABC in Luton)
4) walked over to slimming world. had put 2 pounds on, which is 2 pounds less than i put on last festive seasonWill try extra hard to get to target as then classes are free (i don't do well going it on my own so it is worth the £4.95 a week to me)
5) pianist friend came round and i was treated to another 2 hours of Brahms and Liszt (the sober variety) before he headed home and i headed kitchen-ward to finish off turkey soup.MrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

Hi folks, I have been lurking on the thread for some time now, I love how friendly it is and thought its time I joined in.
1. Emptied all the pound coins out of my purse (£6) and added them to the 'birthday present' piggy bank.
2. A quick freezer inventory, turned up more than I was expecting including a large joint of pork which will do nicely for New Years Day.
3. A lovely walk around the park with the dogs and some rare but welcome sunshine.
4. Meal plans sorted for 31st December to 8th January.
5. Feet up now with a lovely cup of tea and sleepy dogs at my feet.Well Behaved women seldom make history

Blow. Did not get any cake! Now if BoP was not such a kind person, I could really ...
5 Got tredder out for a hike. And offs it went. Wheels and all. Good song. In town and back again! And points put in tracking card from emporium. Not enough to spend there, but rule of BoP. Better in my pocket than theirs. Note, BoPsie checked prices, and at the local w8rz, they are cheaper, and a free T and paper. No questions!
4 Had cup of tea with BoPsie in the free caf! w8rz, with a decent tart. lemon one for BoP. BoPsie had the Korean delicacy, a Yum Yum!
3 Checked the prices of the biscuits etc after Christmas. Loads of wasted non entity puddings on offer. Still nowhere as good as BoP's exams pudding, that is soaked in IoM Whiskey. Note, no brandy sauce in house of the BoP. Rubs Tum!
2 Nite, we are due to watch a BoP{sie film. She is a little too over excited as it has Burt in it. We seem to have no Marylyn films available, and as BoP, see above, is so caring, no doubt some nibble bits could come around.
Ace of Spades. My favourite Lemmy quotes!
"Kanye West? Never heard of her."
During the Bomber, where a replica Lanc hung over the stage, he strides onto the stage and quips.
"Good evening Dresden, I bet you haven't seen one of these for a while"0 -
1) Leftover croissants for breakfast appear to reheat just as well as when they are freshly cooked, yummy!!!
2) Trip to the city with DD1 on the bus where there was not very much to purchase in sales (think we're a bit late) but I did buy the Zebra an awesome hat that is a Tiger face and then found a fleece in orange and black stripes that will make him into a real tiger, such fun!
3) I might have also bought him a circus play tent in Ikea, what his Mum will say I daren't think but I'm sure he'll love it and I'm allowed the pleasure 'cos I'm Oma!
4) Met a 16 week old new puppy for the first time when we walked Cookie this afternoon tinged with sadness though as his predecessor Freddie who was a cavalier king Charles spaniel and a friend of mine died unexpectedly a few weeks ago and I didn't know. Mum lasted a month before needing to get Bertie who is a cavalier Bichon Frieze cross and made up entirely of soft soft fur and wriggles with a lot of licks thrown in, enchanting little thing.
5) Just heard that my Zebra had a lovely time at his little friend
Lewis's birthday party this afternoon, oh my goodness, birthday parties already and he's not 2 yet!0 -
I too lolled at the drawer of punctuation frith
Well spoke too soon when I said should be a quick finesse. Left work at 4:45 only a third of the way through. At 10 pages per hour reckon I've another 14 hours ahead. So for 5 good things
1) got emails back down to 63 before I left
2) took last of the Frozen hm bean stew for lunch
3) ds came to meet me with the dogs
4) then I walked him and his laundry down to his flat
5) then I met dd2 in a local hostelry - colleague from work already there watching the cricket. I was wearing a xmas jumper and surprised all smash decs gone. Whatever happened to the 12 days of crimbo?
