5 OS Pleasures in your Day Today part 2

1. Stripped down the turkey, got todays lunch out of it and the rest will go for turkey curry on Monday. Not bad three meals out it and zero food waste to boot!
2. Sat and watched the news with a cappucino as it was piddling it down outside, watching these mad people going crazy in the Next sale! Felt very smug with myself when some woman announced on Sky news that she had spent £300+ on a Stella McCartney bag that she didn't even need - her own direct admission - but bought it because it was 30% off in the sale! It's times like these that you realise your sanity is totally incheck.
3. Lit the log burner after lunch and put my feet up for a bit.
4. Hugs with horses, dogs and the cat!
5. Sun is forecast to shine for most of the day tmorrow - thank goodness sooo looking forward to that. Gosh it's been so terrible and dreary.Cat, Dogs and the Horses are our fag and beer money:beer:

Some pleasures for Christmas Day and Boxing Day,
Waking my DM with a cup of tea on Christmas Day and finding her in tears, not for a bad reason but because she had opened a smashing present, a memory book made by my niece and nephew.
Presents included a number of books and welly liners, hate hate cold feet.
Cracking into the Binham blue cheese in the evening, you can keep the turkey thanks, I'll just have cheese.
Full moon flitting in and out of clouds when took last trip into garden with the girls.
Then early walk this morning, sun rising on one side of sky, moon setting on the other, glorious.
Dry but breezy walk out through the lanes with equine pal, fresh air felt good after yesterday's inactivity.
Few rousing rounds of Yahtzee but no forfeits for DM.0 -
Pleasures for Boxing Day.
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) House looking more tidy.
3) Went into town and bought a new fridge freezer. Mine is not particularly cold now and has frozen then leaked water on the floor for the past 2 years despite constant thawing and poking clean.
4) Had to drop forgotten ipod off for sons (at their father's) so had a chat with them.
5) Went swimming with my brother but only managed 0.5 km.
6) Brother came for tea - curry which looked suspiciously like yesterday's dinner ;-)
7) Watched Skyfall.
Got to get up quite early to visit friend I've not seen for ages. I'm actually going to have quite a social life for the next 3 days!
ETA - it seems what we thought was a small muntjac with strange ears (spotted on Christmas Eve) was a Chinese water deer! Not seen one of those before.0 -
Another circumventing post via mob in teetering hrs of Sunday.
It is painful and ludicrous, even if in 1st world prob.terms.
Frith, I have that same fridge-freezer.
Inability to
post/access mse via putah is tiresome

A quick hello from a day most busy at work!
Crazy day but just one more to go and then off again.
Cool morning ,had been raining overnight which hopefully goes some way to topping up the water butts which were almost empty .
Met another delicious chocolate Labrador today " is yours a bit crazy? ' I was asked .....Yep!
Have a good day0 -
Mhagster I think chocolate labs are bred a bit bonkers (sis has 2!) just not quite as severely as Red Setters...
Skint - please hug DS from me as a thankyou for all extra help being given in emergencies. Being safe doesn't stop me being wholehearted grateful!
Being surprised to see the three balloons that topped stockings still whole & bright & promising fun. [Which son will start playing I wonder, or will it be me?!]
That despite dire weather warnings & what turned out to be sinkholes in the M62, we got to my MIL, shared delight & strength in family & made it home again.
There are blue skies & sunshine - I enjoy the balanced toy of 'should I wake the chaps to see this yellow thing, or let them sleep more'?! It seems a beautiful apology for all the distress & anxiety of yesterday.
There was just enough smoked salmon left to make a breakfast for one. No fuss, just tidy.
There is a bird singing - cheeping perhaps, like a dud car alarm. Peep peep peep, pause, peep peep peep peep peep & so on.
Remembering son's expression as he carefully separated cake from icing & marzipan, & passed me the cake before falling on his heap as if he'd not fed in days! He does love icing that fights back.
Peering at a jar with something in it. None of my lot are currently medical students, so it's probably not organic. On a biscuit tin lid with other modelling impedimenta - likely to be something soaking to remove old paint. Not in the bathtub this time....
Great big hugs to all who need them, health peace & a restful brew likewise and may goldfinches cheep exuberance around you too!0 -
Duvet check. Cricket started early! Aft'noon all.
5 No cold turkey here, we had salmon. Sits Rubs Tum. Just having biscuit and tea on coffee table.
4 Bar Guns. Got new coffee table in sales. Half price, and another 20% off. We had to get one as Raffels was crashing on pest of tables. He will not crash this one. It is solid oak! Weighs a ton. Imperial, not that frog carp. He helped build it, well, sat in various boxes. BoPsie built the drawers.
3 Tea this eve will be curry, rice. Home maid with chicken and mushrooms, served hot inn cor blimey me sauce! Served with fresh salad. Rubs Tum, again.
2 Nite we ares offs to town, with red paint. Guess what we is going to do?
A good friend will serve you like your mother in the morning, be at your side all day and in the evening, make sure you are safely home.0 -

1)Waking up to the sound of my darling Grandsons laughter.
2) Taking him to the park this morning when his Mum and Dad went to the cinema, then on to visit my brother and DSIL who love him too.
