Inn the end, we just chuck it away, yet yesterday we welcomed it?

How true BoP, what as terribly wasteful world we live in. I don't throw anything away if it can possibly be used again. I wash out plastic bags - amazing how many food items come in sealed bags these days - wipe foil, after his daily brush the dog hair goes over the wall into the orchard for the birds to take for nesting material. Am I going too far when I soak labels off glass jars so both paper and glass can be recycled?! My cleaning cupboard has 5 mostly natural items, plus rag cloths of course, and as for these new 'beads' one puts in the washing machine to make clothes smell good for up to three months, if anyone buys those they've truly lost the plot!!! I didn't welcome them yesterday nor will I tomorrow, or ever...

DFV My brother spoils me, he bought me 6 bars, they'll last me 6 months. That wouldn't have happened if the children still lived at home! We're going to Spain in September, a fellowship convention and a short extension for a holiday.

A huge pleasure, Sinatra at 100 on 5 followed by my new Andre Rieu cd's while I do the housework.

Gave away my slow cooker inner on the local fc site, the casing and dial fell apart:eek:. It gave me excellent service for 6 years so no complaints and the new one arrived this morning. Perfect timing.

The local Aladdin's Cave had the electric light tube I needed for the kitchen which saved me driving 6 miles to the nearest chain store. On the off-chance I asked if they sell safes, they have three different types. I can't catch them out!

Wishing you and yours a healthy, happy and prosperous New Year, have a super time it you're partying _party_ or if like me you've got to the stage that you just prefer your bed I hope the fireworks don't keep you and your dogs and mogs up too late!

Take care n God bless :)

    Good afternoon everyone :hello:

What a great festive period it's been. Well, busy at least.

    1) Caught up with old friends. One of my resolutions for was to keep in contact with old friends more frequently - done!

    2) Eaten my bodyweight in Christmas cake. My mum makes DH one each year... as does MIL... I don't bother as he's "treated" by everyone else...

    3) Sales shopping for things I needed and I haven't veered off the list. First time for everything, eh?!

    4) Some Christmas cards bought in the sales for next Christmas.

    5) Groupon voucher bought for a local cafe. Approximately 15 mins walk away and one I've been to before.

    6) Made Mary Berry's "Easy Lemon Cheesecake" for a NYE party at a neighbour's house. Just need to get it out of the tin... Bracing myself!

    Happy New Year everyone!

Pleasures for today (New Years Eve)

    1) A lie in!

    2) Trip to bank so sons could pay their cheques in and smaller son could order a new bank card.

    3) A trip to Maplins/Currys for the spending of Christmas monies...

    4) School friend came round and we went to a bonfire party hosted by second mum and dad. Very muddy in the orchard. Fireworks were good, and food. I took brownies.

    5) Back home and brother here too. Played on the Wii and had a game of monopoly where bigger son played "paranoid"!

    6) Just in bed with one hwb.

    HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Frith, managed to read about your unenforceable invoice from a pp scumpany. Seen off with good reading&mse help from Parking sub-forum under Motoring. If Council, pepipoo are the specialists. You'll need to scan in both sides to upload there.
Just listening to a very surprising Paddy Greene on DID. She's even giving me tolerance/reason for evil RT storyline:-)
That's enough struggle with this silly system. Takes half-hour to appear if at all, otherwise goes dark or "Timed out".
    Shan't bother again if it doesn't self-correct.
    Bonne Ann!e à tout et à tous.

  • Zonked early, oh look, BoP has dragged himself to a another year!

1 Last year BoP did not break any resolutions. Same as the year before! This year, BoP has made his usual resolution. None!

2 Take the blast this morning. Two GTN. Nce and slow. Let's see if it works!

3 Train fares gone up again. In the last three years, outer local fare has gone from £2.60 to £3.10. If they collected it, ...

4 Supper today will be salad and chicken tikka.

    Yesterday is so last year!

  • 1) Fireworks last night, missed poor old Docky but it was a real treat to be able to enjoy the fireworks and know he wasn't scared and suffering!

    2) The last of the Christmas meats have been used and now we can get back to 'normal'.

    3) Just had a phone call from Charlie retriever and his Mumi and we're collecting Cookie in a few minutes and going for a walk.

    4) Laid the fire in the woodstove which I'll light when I get home, it's much cooler here today and I've been chilly round the edges all morning.

    5) Found a lovely jacket for my Zebra in the TKMaximus sale yesterday, it's a waterproof with orange penguins on a bright blue background, won't fit him for a couple of years but it's super!

    Happy New Year everyone!

    Pleasures for the last 24hrs:

    1) Spent NYE with friends of friends, but whom only live a 3 minute walk away. Great evening, but as I rarely have more than a small gin I'm feeling the pain today... The Easy Lemon Cheesecake went down a treat and many people commented about how delicious it was! :j

    2) Sorted out DH's curry club subscription, which he was given by his twin sister for Christmas. Looks good from https://www.thespicery.com :p

    3) Received a hamper from a friend. Have spent alot of time gazing in wonderment at some of the delicious goodies.

    4) Writing thank you letters for people's hospitality over the past few days.

    5) DH ironed the duvet cover... He's a keeper! ;)
