Sorry to hear about your news, DD. :-(
Here are my pleasures for today:
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Trying morning at work. Afternoon was a meeting that sort of petered out.
3) Brother babysat smaller son for a couple of hours.
4) Bigger son's parent evening. A bit of boasting coming up... really rather decent grades predicted (except for French, which he loathes) and lovely things said by every single teacher. 5 of whom want him to do "their" A level! Saw my colleague with her son, and also Mr N (I sidestepped neatly each time!) and had a chat with his son5.
5) Chinese takeaway for tea.
6) We all worked on smaller son's Sinter Klaas present, which is to my dad this year.
7) Watched I'm a Celebrity.0 -
Hi from a nice warm evening in Melbourne . To be a very hot weekend...blah!
Woke at a decent time.
Chat with friend from home.
Cash back from podiatrist. ( just round the corner)
Took DD1 and her friend to the airport and wished them Bon voyage . Although in my eyes she's still my wee girl I have to remember that I was travelling at that age . I suppose one of the things we strive for as parents is to produce independent adults. Anyway both were very happy and very excited.
Went for a late lunch with OH where we just shared our lunch.
Home and a snoozette .
Will wait until first flight lands before I go to bed ....then they have another one!
Have a good day....work beckons tomorrow0 -
Just to say I'm so sorry to hear about your mog DD. He had his place in your family for five wonderful years, bless you for choosing a rescue and giving him the love he deserved. He'll be at Rainbow Bridge waiting for you one day x0

1) We enjoyed the quiz last night, things are looking up we came second!
2) It's been so mild here today I haven't needed a hat or gloves and we've not needed to light the fire for the past couple of days either, saves wood and makes being outside a pleasure.
3) Found some really tasty Polish Gingerbread Hearts in the 99p shop, opened a pack on Sunday when Zebra came to visit and he loved them so I got a couple more packs this morning.
4) Picked up some nice pieces of various cheeses from the cheese counter YS in T*sco this morning, very bargainous.
5) Met a new puppy this afternoon when I was walking Cookie, such a sweetie he's called Dylan and is a black lab/beagle cross just over a year old, such an enthusiast!!!0 -
1. Turning down the thermostat on our new boiler, our water is hot, hot, hot and needs adjusting. The plumber that fitted it said we should notice a slight drop in oil consumption as it's far more efficient, fingers crossed.
2. Spent ages grooming Bill, took my time and he relished in the attention, shiny boy.
3. HM Carrot and Butternut squash soup for lunch.
4. Off into Uni City for a hair cut, also picked up two more presents, just about done now bar a couple of stocking fillers.
5. Windy but mild evening walk with the girls, this weather is strange.0 -
This time last week my DF was taken ill into hospital and it’s been a rollercoaster since then of he’s coming out, followed by he’s deteriorated, then more of the same followed by a phone call this morning, could be the reason for pleasure no.1.
1. Woke up to the phone ringing and a stinking headache of the migraine sort, I got up and took some strong painkillers, went back to bed for 2 hours, it took till the afternoon and a couple more painkillers, but it worked phew.
2. Minted pie, new pots and veg for dinner was lovely.:D
3. I’ve started prepping the caravan, all the bedding is in and washing, all of the cutlery and mugs through the dishwasher. The fridge and floor has been sterilised. It was nice to take my mind off looking for work and ill relatives.
4. Put on a face pack and read the kindle while waiting, loved that one of the animals found me to curl up on.:rotfl:
5. Hmm I think I just had what would be at least a triple portion of dark chocolate cheesecake, eaten far too much.:o:o:o:o0 -
Goodness. Massive hugs to all those who need them. My thoughts are with you all.
Busy time of year with me - singing practices full of Christmassy songs, trying to keep "normality" going in class, a learning walk (ie informal observations!) by a governor and two teachers... And that's just the day! Sad day today when we were informed of the passing of the school's chair of govs.
Pleasures:
1) A good few NSDs.
2) Similar number of NPDs.
3) DH has an interview next Tuesday. :j :j Current job/company is looking wobbly, so he's on the look out for pastures new.
4) Complained to Tesco, via Twitter, about a tomato which was going rotten on the day of its sell by date... All being well, I now have a gift voucher in the post for the cost. The benefits of social media and being able to upload photos immediately.
5) Cat cuddlesSealed Pot Challenge #021 #8 975.71 #9 £881.44 #10 £961.13 #11 £782.13 #12 £741.83 #13 £2135.22 #14 £895.53 #15 £1240.40 #16 £1805.87 #17 £1820.01 declared0 -
PK - hope things improve for your father now.

1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Felt really ropey this morning but improved a bit as the day went on.
3) Had a training day at school so glad I didn't miss it as I don't know when I would ever have caught up.
4) Stopped at 2 saw yards on the way home and got the panels to mend the fence.
5) Bigger son mended the fence and adjusted the bolt on the gate. Nearly dog proof.
(P.S Anyone who wants a sneak preview of small dog, send me a pm and I'll send you his link!)
6) Popped to the butchers in the village (now the only shop left) and got some nice burgers for tea.
7) Sons out at games night at the moment with brother and brother in law.
8) Have done some Christmas ordering online and also ordered the Christmas Eve pyjamas - hoorah!!
Remembered 9) from this morning! Colleague: "It was nice to meet bigger son last night. He's good looking isn't he? And tall. Not what I was expecting". She didn't mean it like that but it's made me laugh all day!0 -

3. Stripped the bed and all clean sheets are on.
