5 OS Pleasures in your Day Today part 2

CCP yes it is the thought that counts - here's my (albeit delayed) wave to you!
So far today hasn't been so bad -
1) Back to work today after various trips to hospital both for me and OH - the pleasure in that was it meant I could see my colleague/friend who is so supportive and lovely and share a chat over a lovely cup of tea.
2) Lunch of left over (freebie gift) pie
3) Left work just after lunch as I am still in some pain after yesterday's appointment and dropped into local hospice to pick up the Tshirts for our work fundraiser. Being there made me appreciate the things and people in life that I take for granted as it always reminds me of visiting my dad before he died.
4) Came home to find OH much brighter and feeling better which is great!
5) OH's mum had popped in and left us a bag of donuts - one of which I am enjoying with a cup of tea!
Hope everyone is having a good week - mine is definitely improving, plus it's only 2 days until puppy day!!Clearing debt to save for a simple wedding.Starting 2016 With debt of £77000 -
Well, here we are at the end of another day. There really hasn't been much happening today; doctor's appointment, lots of resting and some tv - that's about it! Here are my five pleasures for the day:
1) Resting up with a cup of tea.
2) Making a list of recipes I *have* to try.
3) Making a list of things I'd like to do this year.
4) Watching the Wartime Kitchen & Garden that I'd recorded from a while ago. It's fascinating to watch - reading is one thing, but visualisations and dramatisations can be great to see.
5) Comforting pasta bake for tea. Mmm...
I'm feeling a bit more perky now, but I'm worried about sleeping tonight. I don't want to interrupt DH.Hope everyone has a nice evening.

It was these http://www.douglaswillis.co.uk/ they won best independent retailer of the year in 2006 and my package came with frozen ice blocks in it to keep it cool lol. Now I have a big old polystyrene box which I may have to reuse in the garden somewhere lol! I think though I will order next time a months worth as it's free delivery then and put it in the freezer.
Brill I will have to try it! I havent previously found an online delivery butcher that is cheaper than the likes of tesco and better quality at that. Thank you :A[STRIKE]Saving for a deposit on a flat[/STRIKE]

Evening all. I've had a day with very few pleasures in it, tbh - I'm sooo tired, my cough (which I thought was on its way out) has come back with a vengeance, and it's been wet, cold and windy all day (although, just to ring the changes, it's currently sunny, cold and windy). At least it's not snowing here, I suppose - my thoughts are with everyone faced with the dreaded white stuff again.
wssla00 - thanks for the link to the online butcher - that looks quite promising for next time my freezer needs refilling (not anytime soon, sadly, as my attempts to empty it aren't going quickly...)
Kitchenbunny - I'm glad to know you're feeling perkier, and I hope you manage to sleep OK tonight after all.
I'll see if I can find five pleasures for today:
1) One of my colleagues bought in HM cupcakes for birthday, including some tasty carrot and walnut ones - although I wish I'd know before taking a bite that the decorative carrot on the top was made of coloured chocolate <shudder>
2) I popped into Tesco at lunchtime and the lady who served me was very pleasant (yes, I know I said I wouldn't go there anymore as the staff are usually so rude, but I'd run out of bread flour, I had a voucher, and it was raining and Tesco was the closest shop)
3) My sister hasn't answered my text message, which means she must be at work and not able to phone me tonight. Yes, I know that's mean, but I'm really too tired to cope with a conversation with my sister tonight.
4) I'm trying a new recipe for dinner tonight, steak braised with red wine and tomatoes, and I might just drink a glass of the wine in the hope that it will give me sweet dreams (or at least knock me out so I don't remember the bad ones).
I really can't think of a fifth one today, I'm afraid. I hope everyone else has had a better day.Back after a very long break!0 -
wssla00 - Mr M supermarket has locking plastic boxes half price this week, I just bought a 2.6 litre one
Hugs CCP, hope you feel better soon, enjoy the wine xx
1. DD slept in my bed last night as we had a v-e-r-y late night and she needed the comfort of being with her motherWe had lovely cuddles this morning and a sneaky lie-in.
2. She was delighted to see a surprise vase of daffodils on the kitchen table, we like buying flowers for each other, it was my turn to "surprise" her.
3. Have sold a DVD on Amaz*n, the first one in ages, I was beginning to think my listings were no longer valid!
4. Went through my bits of paper ripped out of newspapers/magazines pile and found some useful money off vouchers for different shops, shame April is 'Austere April' and I mustn't be too frivolous
5. The car has heard all your kind wishes and seems to be getting better. Thank you!!0 -
Evening all
Right, I have decided to stop dreading going to the caravan! I knew what dh was like when I married him 10 years ago!!! I will enjoy it and ds1 can help me as well. Shame it is going to rain!!!!!!
So, mine for today
1 More sorting and washing for caravan
2 Making more washing gloop, think I have perfected it now!! :T
3 Bought myself some pink wellies for the caravan.
4 I got myself a mac and one each for the kids for £1 each (seen them for sale on the campsite for £7 each ) so we will be ready for rain!

Evening everyone :wave::wave:
Thanks for your patience with my hugh post yesterday but I thought I'd try and mention everyone after all your kind comments.....sorry if I missed anyone ....I am by no means perfect
One thing I didn't mention was my little accident on Satudary night. Caught my heel on a step and crashed right into some hefty patio furniture stopping myself with my nose. This resulted in a massive nosebleed. I felt fine on Sunday but had a massive headache in the early hours of Monday so took Monday off. I had a hospital appointment in Norwich this morning and then drove to Great Yarmouth. I nipped into Next there to take something back and felt very weak and lightheaded but felt fine when I got out so nipped in Boots. By the time I got to work I had tunnel vision in my left eye and another massive headache over my right. I managed to get the necessary stuff done and went home again. I've been to the doctors who kindly told me I had concussion and that my blood pressure had dropped. Apparently I'll be fine.....just feel a bit stupid because of my clumsiness. Anyway, enough of my stupidity
My latest:
1) Today was my last hospital visit....everything back to normal
2) Seeing the cockerel today.....hadn't seen him for a couple of weeks...I had heard him so I'm presuming he was flirting with my neighbours chickens
3) The back garden ducks greeting me as soon as I opened the curtains
4) The doctor telling me I had a very healthy blood pressure (he said it didn't need to drop much to make me feel like I did today)
5) Lovely warm bath
Sparrer - Some of my daffs still aren't anywhere near flowering. Some years they haven't even flowered at all. Good for you for putting that £40 away for your car tax
CCP - I do mine every couple of months and then get the garage to check when it goes in too
wssal00 - Congratulations on reaching your target for the freezer. I hope you find something suitable
Kitchenbunny - I loved the Wartime kitchen and garden too. I'm hoping it comes on again
Hope you all had a good day. Take care
C xAs my dad always used to say 'Just because you've got the money doesn't mean to say you have to spend it all at once'0
