Ampersand- enjoy tomorrow! I was offered a free ticket but had to turn it down. I know a few Tigers fans who are heading to Twickers and are being encouraged to support ASM; our director of rugby played for them for a few seasons. However, I'll be cheering for the rouge et noir.

Mhags - so pleased it hasn't spread

    These are in no order.

    1. Long chat with former colleague - she is so much happier since she left and moved to the other side of the country to escape the boss. She has lots of exciting plans for the rest of the year.

    2. Laughing at a man singing away to the radio - his wife was laughing aswell. We were stuck in a traffic jam at the time and he was really enjoying himself.

    3. The service in the local post office it is always friendly and makes it a pleasure to go in.

    4. Made banana loaf to use up the bananas which DS's didn't finish before they went back to uni.

    5. Planted out some cabbage seedlings. Helped by my friendly robin who comes and joins me in the garden. My tomato seedlings are growing really well.

    6. Lots of eggs from my chickens.

    7. House looking fairly tidy still.

    4. Fuelled up with discount. Will do usual free parking behind YH Thameside. Bus pass for the rest means great double-decker top front seat meanders and many memories. Ooh, I'm so looking forward to this - major catharsis.

Evening all. Once again in ice cream town :D

MHags - so pleased it hasn't spread.
    Ampersand - love the reunion
DD - good result I see

Been busy sorry for AWOL (if ya noticed :p)

    Pleasures for last few

1 another reorganisation consultation day. I been here 18 years, I been through a few. Bullsh!t bingo at its best today. OH texted "have you got a job still?" Here was my reply, cobbled together by colleague and I from our selection of BS "We are on an articulated journey, going forward, with transparency of objective. We have insufficient critical mass as well as the T as well as the R as well as the E. We are committing to devolved budgets, project space, tribal report and moderation across the university - with strong line management endorsement with the Montreal effect." His reply "yes, but have you got a new logo"? :rotfl:
2 fun with said colleague yesterday in a rambling journey of procrastination that went from a student visit to Freiburg through to Florence Bush. Who?
3 tap dancing. By George, I think I am getting it
4 DS is seeing his revision paying off - by George, I think he might be getting it also :T
    5 lunch with bezzie
6 more Kondoing. Someone is taking the Knex off our hands
7 found a receipt in OHs drawer - for a meal out in 1994 :rotfl: we moved to our current house in 1998. He moved a four year old receipt
8 had the electric point fitted for the new hybrid company car we are getting in 2 weeks. Doesn't look as bad as feared
    9 sunshine and blossom
10 drove to away day today. A good excuse to sing along to my iPod as loud and as bad as I liked. I don't tend to do that on the train :p
11 woke up yesterday disgustingly cheery - and it lasted all day :D

    Nighty night all
I wanna be in the room where it happens

Get well now, all the poorlies

    1. Am blaming mhags for this one as she put the idea into my head after mentioning having her eyebrows waxed. I have to take rather a lot of steroids, among other things, due to bellows not working as they should hence I was beginning to look like Michael Finnegan, so braved having my whiskers waxed. The pleasure is a chin and upper lip looking and feeling as smooth as a babies...and it wasn't nearly as painful, physically or financially, as I expected it to be. I keep stroking my chin like a wise old man, it feels so good!
    2. Lovely friend visited and brought chocolate cream slices to have with our tea :)
    3. Not long got off the phone, another friend arranging for us to have lunch then go to watch Cinderella with her grandchildren tomorrow.
    4. Potted up a clematis and delivered to DD, I had three thanks to the generosity of friends but no room for them all so DD has adopted one
    5. Gogglebox, was a bit gruesome in places this evening but ended on a very happy note.

    Sweet dreams :)

Mhags - glad to hear your news.

My pleasures for last couple of days

    1. On the theme of eyebrows had them threaded, look much better.
    2. Making plans for work after voluntary redundancy.
    3. Lovely lunch today with 3 friends.
    4. Friends agreed to come on my birthday weekend next year. It's a big 50.
    5. Ds1 visiting for the weekend.
    6. Lovely sunshine even if it was quite breezy.
    7. Chatting to my mum and dd today.
    8. The young man I mentor at school got 10/10 in his spellings.
    9. Downloaded some free books that had good reviews.
    10. eBay sales doing well. Still 2 days to go.

    1. Relief and joy at Mr MHag's news :)

    2. Hooray for the lady in THAT thread and glad justice is finally catching up with her ex

    3. Just downloaded a fab font that looks like boxes of different sizes that I will use to hopefully help those few (ummm, nearly all) of my class that don't get have their tall letters going up to the top and their small letters going down below the line....happy to email a link to the freebie website to anyone who'd like it :)

    4. Had a good birthday - although it feels like it was a long time ago now after the hectic week I've had!

    5. Have been put to bed by DD a couple of nights as I've been so tired :( but :) at being tucked in by my beloved :):)

    6. On B'day, I opened the door to let the children in and they burst in and sang to me, made me some lovely cards and pictures and were appreciative of their chocolate treat at the end of the day :)

    7. Have planned what I hope will be 2 awesome observed lessons for Wednesday - a class worship and a science lesson. Bit worried about the latter, as my observer/mentor appears to be a bit disappointed that I'm not doing an experiment, so I hope he'll be fair in his assessment of my teaching the darlings how the ear works! Time will tell....

    8. Had an awesome day teaching the whole of years 3 and 4 about 'le fete des muguets' and an associated song. Lots of cards and love of French shared :)

    9. More love of languages shared with my inaugural languages club after school the same day - we taught year 5 and 6 members of the club the muguet song, all learned a bit of Afrikaans and I was delighted to find out that 2 of the club actually speak Czech, so that's another language to add to our list. Latin next week :)

    10. I've booked a table at my favourite restaurant for me and one of my lovely chums to belatedly celebrate my birthday tonight.

    11. I usually praise the NHS, so am disappointed to be whinging but happy that DD is getting great care privately from a sports physio. She's had to give up ALL active sport bar swimming for a while due to her leg possibly being more injured than was initially diagnosed.

She needed a fresh x-ray and was duly taken to the big hospital for one, where some numpty had typed in that she'd originally hurt the OTHER leg, and so the x-ray numpty refused to x-ray the leg that hurts, as she didn't 'have authority' to do so, despite a GP's referral asking for hurt leg to be done!!!

Cue, daddykins taking her back the next day with a sterner GP referral letter, insisting that bad leg be done, and numpty actually opening DD's file and realising that the notes referred to the WRONG leg but the x-ray had been done on the RIGHT leg!

Hopefully my baby will soon get the right treatment she needs and will be back to her 6x weekly sport soon!

    12. My parents, for taking so much time, money and effort to take her to 3 days' worth of medical appointments.

    13. DD, for being put through lots of pain when being manipulated by all the medics and for being stoic about not being allowed to do sport, and for having possibly broken her leg all those months ago! Love, love, LOVE my DD's positivity.

Phew! Well, that was supposed to be a quick catch-up but has turned into war and peace.....

    Get well soon VickyA xx
