Evening all, Saturday evening here and it's been a pleasant day .
I've been at work and was rather busy but out the door at 2pm .
OH took the train in and we drove back in my car.
Stopped for late lunch and we both had the most delicious cauliflower soup.
Nice dog walk .
Lovely chat with my sister.
Tiny pink rosebuds on one of our climbing rose bushes. Autumn leaves....OH said him and Haggis swept the driveway....you wouldn't know as its full of leaves again!
Have a good weekend0 -
Yesterday was a good day.
1. Toast and marmalade with coffee for breakfast.
2. Would have been a NSD but sponsored a friend through just giving as she is walking the Great Wall of China later this year. She is a bit nervous about the amount of sponsorship she needs so thought I would sponsor sooner rather than later.
3. Spent time pottering in the garden. I love being out there.
4. Stir fry for tea - chicken but very little chicken. DH is so much happier eating it with meat in. I used about 1/2 chicken breast for both of us.
5. Spoke with MIL - she seemed happier than earlier in the week and hopefully she will be going into a cottage hospital setting to recuperate.
DH had an expensive day - his brakes needed replacing on his car and cost £560!!0 -

Five for yesterday
1. Met a friend for coffee at an independent garden centre. Managed to leave without buying plants.
2. Watching my chickens in the garden while drinking a coffee.
3. Lamb stew cooked in the slow cooker with enough left over to freeze.
4. Chat with a neighbour.0 -
Had the busiest day at work....literally , my busiest day in the kitchen....more than earned my bonus! Love the camaraderie from colleagues ....even in the biz we still manage a laugh. Laughing is good.
OH laughing last night whilst on the phone to his sister, good to hear.
We went out had late lunch / early tea . I'd a chicken Caesar wrap.
My friends were in at work for coffee , so have offered, very, very kindly their chauffeur service when OH is in hospital , they will pick me up. They did this the last time and it was such a gift then and I'm sure it will be again. I am very grateful.
The news about the new princess. How lovely0 -
Freshly made coffee after a somewhat wakeful night with a scared dog after fireworks in the village
His Dadi is home after a couple of work days with DD1 so the dog is now a happy chappy
It's actually stopped raining!
Wonderful scent of lilac from a completely in bloom bush when walking said dog this morning, amazingly sweet
The thought of a nap this afternoon and waking up to a cup of freshly made tea!0 -
Rite, I have been downgraded with the ether interface at the forum! So it appears I may has un thanked peoples. And I cannot re thanks peoples. So and the thirst post keeps coming up.
On the account of the new brat, we shall call her Alice. The oath I took in January 1980 still counts. If you do not like it, you can get a one way ticket at Ashford.
5 Steaming in Wales yesterday, and chips, and fish, and scampi, and mushy peas and wobbleades and feet up and slippers off and socks chucked in front room. BoPsie is very good now at rounding them up.
4 Week in midst of Sparrashire done, and monies paid. BoP motor, driven without conviction, had a paddy in Burford. Sorted. had service just two weeks ago and we shall be not using that garage again.
3 Dumped BoPsie at the Duck Pond, she volunteers there on Sunday and it gets here out of the house as well. Otherwise she would be chained up.
2 day I has a personal message for DD UTM
When the water flows
BoP notes this forum downgrade is the total dog's left one!0 -
Good evening everyone :hello:
Feeling slightly better, but I'm now unable to smell anything due to a blocked nose. Joy!
Ampersand - you obviously shouted loudly enough yesterday! Many of my Leicester Tigers acquaintances made the journey too.
My pleasures for the last few days:
1) Against my better judgement (ie I was feeling VERY grotty), I kept an appointment to see a friend in London and we had afternoon tea. We meet for our joint birthday celebrations around this time of year. One time we went to see Jason Donovan in the Here & Now show... This year and last year we've had tea.
2) Visited the Sonia Delaunay exhibition at Tate Modern, using my Art Fund card to get 50% off the entry price.
3) Visited an artisan cheese fair this morning. Loads of free samples! Oh, and received a free cotton bag too, which has made its way into my handbag for emergency shopping needs.
4) Done the ironing! :j :j
5) Cheese and Lincolnshire plum bread for supper. Oh, simply heaven!Sealed Pot Challenge #021 #8 975.71 #9 £881.44 #10 £961.13 #11 £782.13 #12 £741.83 #13 £2135.22 #14 £895.53 #15 £1240.40 #16 £1805.87 #17 £1820.01 declared0 -
I just wanted to tell someone, because the ring is yet to be bought (we are probably going to buy the house first then see what we can afford) so only OHs parents know, as he tells them everything but...
He asked me to marry him :j0
