    1. Weather man utterly wrong, wrong, wrong. Yellow thing, remember that? - well, it did, all day. On the other hand, heard white stuffforecast in non-sassenach regions, called dd-land.

    2. Goodness knows what over 4hrs of pavement-pounding would have been like otherwise.
& played postie with '00s of candidate bumf requests, around [at least 10,000]sneaky little foot-only impossible mazes of hidden Cambridge. Total foot-shred and total address/numbering cauchemar[AWOL all logic/counting/street patterns] but DID THEM, then 2 hrs' postal voting phone Bank.

    3. All &'s apple blossom is out and little robin continues to fly in and out to her 5-egg nest. Cannot over-emphasise that & has to physically brush by shelf she's using - shoulder and nest+eggs less than a foot apart. On verra:-)

    4. Long-running gate latch repair saga continues. Final[should be] inner-blokey session[love my Brico symposia when mood is right] with M's meant a dark and handsome man in metal shop honed an mtm spindle for &'s Feb. replacement which was butchered 'cos of dodgy measurement instructions leading to wrong sums.. NOT 48mm. Should be 71mm. All of which is most riveting and meaningful to no-one but &[she knows what she means].

I did have a lovely time:-)

Thankstealady and thanks everybody , it really does help. As I've said before we don't 'know each other'.....or maybe we are just friends who haven't met yet. Yet, each day ,we come here and share our days, our pleasures, our dissapoinments ...the occasional rant! So thank you!

Today was Tuesday , the day before results ! The day before we find out if cancer has spread, if it has, where , how much. The thought frightens me so much but once we know, we know and a plan can be made. The MDT ( multi disciplinary team ) appointments are full on. There will be at least 3 teams of surgeons of different departments working on OH, so they will all come in with consultants, registrars, junior doctors, from each team, they will poke, prod, shine lights, take photos, nutritionists, speech pathologists, pharmacists, cancer care nurse will come in .
Then they all go and catch up and then someone will come and tell us what's what. There will be other patients at the same time. It's really full on , fast ,fast ,fast and then slooooow whilst you wait for some one to come back in.

Yesterday, whilst waiting for OH when he was in for his MRI, the familiarity of it all just rushed back , quite overwhelmingly. We've been there and done it all before, which whilst it's seems a while ago, feels like just last week!

I sleep, I wake up and boof! It hits you , right in the chest, sucks the air from my lungs, and my heart pumps so strongly and loudly .

However, what will be , will be and no matter how loud my heart beats won't change what's going to happen, so I just have to wait until tomorrow .

Some pleasures? Well , work salves the mind, something else to think of ( briefly)
My Haggis boy! Head on my shoulders. Just having a cuddle. Only fed once tonight :)

I had a bath, I snoozed ( then woke up , with thumping heart!) ....last night I fell asleep with wet hair....this morning I was sporting a horrendous toilet brush look! Hair washed again and dried! Toilet brush look is not my best look!

Payday! Money transferred into savings accounts.

Spag Bol for tea, easy peasy teasy!

RTC brownie or RTC caramel slice for pud.

    Have a lovely day x

Just catching up after a few days away - Mhags - you are in my thoughts and prayers. What you are going through and a few other thought provoking situations over the last few day (some work some not!) have really focused my thoughts on the SIMPLE bit of pleasures today! So with that in mind:

    1. Family - the ones that drive you mad as well as the ones that make you glad!!! the smiles, the laughter, the tears and the shouting are all pleasures - and they are all mine!!! (please feel free to remind me of this when I am tearing my hair out with them!)
    2. More about family - my mum - the Reverend Mother! I worked out today that she has been supporting me with my family for 20 years (since I started my nurse training with 2 small babies) - today she has run round picking up prescriptions for DS so he doesn't end up in a state tomorrow and stayed with DD3 and DS til late as I had a late meeting in work! - what would I do without her?
    3. My home - again a pleasure that doesn't always feel like one (cleaning, repairing and paying for it!) but it is a pleasure as it Is fit for purpose and can accommodate all of my lot and some - so I could help a little one in trouble (long story but I could end up having the daughter of a friend with her 2 little ones to stay - as she is struggling and splitting up with partner)
    4. My work - I talk a lot about my work - but it is a real pleasure - I work with some crazy and creative people and at the moment the emotional effect of what we do is being challenged to the nth degree - but we are supporting each other by crying together, laughing together and eating cake together! - I am very proud of working there!
    5. My strength - something happened this week that reminded me of how far I have come and that I have the strength to keep going! I am not going back to being the person I once was who wasn't able to stand up to people who hurt me and mine- well that person has well and truly gone! But it has been a pleasure (and pain) to remember what has been and think about what is still to come!
