Mchags, sending stength and hugs. We are here through good and downright awful times. So so sorry for the emotions you are going through now..
I'm going to put some pleasures on as well, hope that's alright.
1. All the paperwork was received for my new role signed and all done. They rang to confirm I start in a couple of weeks, they will confirm the time of day in a few weeks.:j:beer::j
2. So DH said lets grab the van and head off again while we can:), so that’s what we are doing. Queue mad rushing about like a mad hatter.:o I have everything crossed and saying a few words to the big man that he may change the weather outlook to be a bit more favourable for the next week or so.:o
3. The docs kindly prescribed some “emergency stock” strong painkillers.
4. As we are upping and going with animals in tow as well I whipped around with the mower which did not start first time:eek: and plonked all the indoor plants in water and I have a couple of water bulbs I’ve put outside I have fingers crossed they will be ok.
5. Loaded clothes - I mean summer clothes <eek> in and our freezer stock to the van fridge.:money:
6. Watched the first Outlander programme on kindle it was absolutely wonderful, and downloading a few films on the kindle to take with us:p
7. Wow we are rocking and rolling to wales tomorrow can’t quite believe it not like us to up and go but lovely to be able, still trying to take it in:rotfl:
8. Dinner is a hm curry, when the floors are dried and I can make it back into the kitchen, doh:)0 -
Well done PK and the van hits the street, Jenny sends her :heartpuls to the needy and others. She is checked up soon!
Rite, POETS Day the morrow, and I leave Midst of SparraShire again. Last nite, in inn, some one from Yorkshire, other more noble counties available, rused about his heritage, slightly wobbling a lad from Gods County, Lincolnshire. I enquires, as he muted that he came from donny. I enquired as his mother went to a club in Doncaster in the early eighties, and he said yes. I remarked he could be my son. He left. Tail down. Exit. Left.
Now where was BoP. Ah, the tax evaders, and the b list pop stars. Boooogar! strangely quite about the southern shores of the Mediterranean!0 -
Mhags - I understand what you are going through. I understand and feel for you - those long nights ahead where you toss and turn but don't get much sleep. I lost my brother to this sh1tty disease he was 28 years old, then I lost my mum to it as well. By the time I was 34 years old I had lost my dad, brother and mum in that order.
So I understand, but your pain is unique to you and although I kind of know what it's like no one can walk in your shoes and feel that pain, hurt and anger - and the depth of feelings that runs with this other than you.
No one knows what it is like until you go through it and no one knows the stuff in your heart, mind and soul that drives you onwards to combat it. Only you and yours can do that Mhags, but we will all here on MSE walk some of that path with you and hold your hand for while at the end of this keyboard and try and make the way a little smoother!Cat, Dogs and the Horses are our fag and beer money:beer:

1. Congrats PK
2. Payday tomorrow!
3. Getting a few things sorted for our year group's residential trip in June, woohoo! Can't wait(but I'm sure I'll be saying something different at the time when I'm sleep-deprived!)
4. Went to an interestingish course this morning - have had 2 days out of the classroom this week, and we have Mass tomorrow, so a nice gentle easing-in to school after 2 glorious weeks off.
5. A very nice man in MrA's reduced a chocolate cake that will be OOD on Monday (my bday), nomnom.0 -
Oh, mhagster. Sending all those massive, gentle hugs and warmth to you, DH and your family. Rest assured, this MSE family is here for you all. My thoughts and prayers continue to be with you on this road. x
Pleasures for today:
1) Picked up some yellow sticker bread to go with soup for supper.
2) Discovered a free way of reading an expensive local magazine online! Hurrah! :j
3) Paypal payout from some of my eBay sales - and duly popped onto my savings spreadsheet.
4) Got a bag for recycling clothes in aid of my school. Good job I have a pile of clothes to put in there, isn't it?
5) Social media. I've met a couple of lovely people on it who are fellow rugby supporters and now I've arranged an appointment to visit the gym on Saturday with a view for membership.Sealed Pot Challenge #021 #8 975.71 #9 £881.44 #10 £961.13 #11 £782.13 #12 £741.83 #13 £2135.22 #14 £895.53 #15 £1240.40 #16 £1805.87 #17 £1820.01 declared0 -
Evening all.:)
Mhags and family - more warm hugs and heaps of strength winging their way to you. So pleased though for the speed you could access diagnosis and so pleased that you have that cuddly dog of yours.
PK, it's super news about your job and your on-the-spur-of-the-moment travels.
My five pleasures for Thursday:
1. Spent the afternoon digging well-rotted manure into a large area of ground that had already been dug over once. I was dripping with sweat in the sunshine but completed it in the time I'd given myself.
2. Linked to that is the more general pleasure I'm feeling at the moment about reclaiming my fitness after so many years of not being well and last year's op. It's lovely to push myself. I'd forgotten how good that feels. And I'd forgotten what it feels like to be really tired for a good reason.
3. Getting DS2 back home after his work trip away for a couple of days.
4. Watching the Red Admiral butterflies which seem to be very abundant round here at the moment.
5. Chatting with DS1 in my car on the way back home tonight.
Sweet dreams

Hoping you all wake up feeling a little less bruised and battered, and feeling a little more that the family can face this together mhags
1. Mowed the lawn, cleared our and dug over the one bed in the garden. Took most of the day with breaks but I did it. Dug a dead rhodie out of a pot where it had been for the last several years and planted a dogwood in its place. Four bags of garden waste to go to the tip when I can persuade someone to help me get them into the boot.
2. Sat outside and had a tomato and cucumber sandwich lunch, and a glass of iced lemon juice. Summer's coming
3. Still outside, finished the cardigan make over. I've turned a plain cardi into something unique and quite impressive, if I do say so m'self
4. A leaflet was delivered about one of the candidates in this area, with 9 photo's of herself. No info of achievements or policies, more a personal photo opportunity. Needless to say I'm voting for someone who tells me what they hope to achieve. (Or should that be what I want to hear!)
5. Postie also brought me a Silversurfers discount card free and valid for 6 months. After that they charge but of course I won't be renewing
Sleep tight0 -
Mhags, echoing what others have said, what expletive cruel, cruel timing. Massive hugs.
Expletive disease. No respecter of the calendar, of plans, of life.
I've been AWOL with far more minor issues, the calmer waters having proved a temporary lull, but, crossing fingers firmly and looking to past form, now we ARE set more fair.
Life is infinitely more pleasant, I am not on constant watchfulness, and can once again enjoy a simple settled routine.
1. Conference call for work- massive changes afoot have had our little band of e-workers holding our breath on that front, it's been everything at once lately. Still holding breath a little but quite a bit of hope now. Hoping for no false dawns with this one.
2. Weight loss continues but I can now take pleasure in meals again. I discovered a bundle of low cost recipes on the Aldi USA website - many low cost and tempting with novel twists. I think that link is to the pasta page, but there are many more.
3. Cycling in the sunshine. With SPF on, naturally. But see song link below as I've been humming that whilst pedalling, since Tuesday evening.
4. The company of friends, and some wonderful music at the live music club. Rediscovering a song from my childhood that was sung on Tuesday. Bro and Sis were soul/Tamla fans, bro was also a West Coast folk/rock/blues fan. So was I, by very youthful osmosis. TG for it as well. What would I be without music?
5. Various bits of important post have arrived safely and I can now give them my full and undivided attention. Phew.Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.0
