BINGO!! :rotfl:
Morning from a very rattly train - driver is on a mission
1. Finished my HNC teaching for the year - won't be sorry if i never do it again. Don't like the group much at all - and there's so many of them. To be fair i haven't really had the time to give them the attention they need - and that has come out in the feedback. Am trying to drop this module. I think i have two more lectures to deliver this side of October :T
2. Finished work for Easter - i am working at home on Monday and Tuesday. Though in reality that probably means getting ready for my holiday in New York, DD and i leave on Weds. As they owe me over 100 hours, I don't feel too guilty
3. blossom and magnolia coming out
4. Saw man with magnificent moustache again
5. Dropped another two pounds in weight. This diet has been amazing for me - 1 1/2 stone lost in a year (so not stupid quick) but i can keep it off and am loving the food. Not really trying to lose weight now - but i am only two pounds off a lower stone band (I am 10st 1, so two pounds is 9:13 - tempting tempting).
Off to stay with dad for the weekend - looking forward to seeing the sea and the clocks going forward.
Have a good weekend allI wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
We have got a bear
Just a quickie afore fotos, as back from the edge of SparraLands, but BoP has garnered the bear. Blu Ray disc acquired and suitable for viewing at home.
5 Haircut, full price at the barbers and something for the weekend.
4 Bacon buttie and tea next door. Finished with a piece of cake!
3 Doing the football at three again! foto later!
2 Nite on the tiles in town with BoPsie.
1 It is you that makes you happy, not some silly event nothing of yours! Besides, a little care about yesterday. Do today, your best, then tomorrow you will be blessed.
Right go in there and get me that bloody donkey!0 -
DD can you write a sentence for my dissertation that has those three words in please? My tutor would be well impressed!!!
Managed to chat to DD about London but not sure it had the right effect! Have suggested we do a girlie weekend - just her and me - but still not sure she is happy! She came home and had a rant last night about having no money even though she has just been paid (welcome to adulthood!) - rent, driving lessons, race day with her friends which clearly needs new outfit and lots of spending money! Its a hard life! At 22 I had a mortgage one child and one on the way and worked night shift in a nursing home of £2.87! I wouldn't wish that on her but she thinks she has it so hard and I find it really frustrating!
Anyway - today is now crazy busy as DD1 is coming home (I thought she was going to friends before her half marathon tomorrow!) but now has asked if I would do dinner for her 2 friends too - so better get my act together - lasagne on the menu with lots of garlic bread and salad to fill every one up!! But day of house cleaning and washing before then!
So yesterdays pleasures:
1. Sunny day
2. Everything blossoming
3. Delicious dinner of roasted veg lamb and pasta (sounds weird but was lovely and enough left over for lunch!)
4. Snuggles with D3
5. Seeds are sprouting in conservatory - just need to get some time in the garden to make space for them among the weeds!0 -
Back in action. Guess they won, then!0

Good evening everyone :hello:
A lot going on over the last couple of days, being the end of term.
1) Have been asked whether I'd move into teaching slightly older children next year. Oh yes! :j :j
2) End of term drink with colleagues. Nice to be able to laugh! Some of those, who have been teaching in the area for longer than I have, were seeing former pupils whilst in the pub. ALL former pupils were old enough to be in the pub drinking, by the way!
3) Meal out with a friend, before we went to the local arts centre/cinema. She had a voucher for food, so my contribution was £5! :j :j
4) Item on eBay is out-performing my wildest dreams and the auction comes to an end tomorrow! Absolutely mad! (though I'll gladly take it!)
5) Rugby today - and they won!
6) Finished my book.... then started another.

1. I pre cooked brekkie as I knew we had to be up and out early to help at an event.:p
2. Loaded up the car with handmade designed certificates, homemade bedding whipped up on the sewing machine as prizes, and popped in a Thornton’s Easter egg we got cheap from home bargains.
3. A very wonderful result I won first pick in a raffle so also first prize I’ve never had that before it was lovely, followed by winning enough food to keep the animals happy for 2 months.
4. A friend also stopped by where we were for a few hours it was a lovely surprise.:T
5. Absolutely shattered after a very full days fundraising, so we picked up a Chinese take away on the way home, felt like a very indulgent over indulgent treat, we had to unload the car so re heated it just now.
6. It feels really nice to have had a productive day, talked to a vast amount of people, very out of my comfort zone.0 -
Lost a long post yesterday so will sum up to say I had a lovely afternoon at a leaving do for one of smaller son's specialist teachers. Nice to see all his fellow communication centre pupils and former pupils who had come back to say goodbye.
Smaller son also mentioned (casually) that he was top of the class in (mainstream) science and had got a 6b in his assessment!
Pleasures for today:
1) A lie in!
2) Swimming with sons and my brother. They want to go on a trip to a 5m diving pool to have a go off some high boards. :-/
3) Tasty sandwiches for lunch.
4) Quick game of football.
5) WI jumble sale was on in the village hall so we went over to buy some cakes. Second mother was running the tea stall and she came dashing out from behind the serving hatch to give me a hug when I told her I had got a job!
6) Chips for tea.
7) Brother came round for the evening and we did Earth Hour (8.30 - 9.30 with no electricity on). We introduced him to our traditional game of "Footshrimps" (I don't know why it is called that) where 2 family members lie in my bed under the covers, and any other players think of a way to scare them! I thought I kicked proceedings off quite well by creeping in with my dressing gown on backwards, pulled up over my face, pulling the covers off sons and letting the smoke alarm off by them! Brother and smaller son excelled later by creeping about, pulling the covers off, dazzling me with a torch and managed to squirt a medicine syringe of water in my face!!
Think that is it for today. Smaller son wants to be up early to watch the Grand prix.0 -
Had a good day - I managed some ironing early before going out on a hen do.
It was very enjoyable and lots of drinking and eating and I spent less money than I thought I would which was a pleasant surprise.
Managed to meet someone on the train to travel with so had a good talk there and back. She is someone I like but ver rarely see.
DS1 drove me to station and picked me up as DH was busy collecting DS2 from another station!0 -
So I will start this long post again...
My weekend pleasures in no particular order:
It's my birthday
No work
Phone calls to friends and my sister.
Toast and peanut butter and mooch through papers at fave cafe yesterday morning
Train into city and high tea at a 5 star City hotel.
We had : top tier, 2 different kinds of macarons, blueberry ( amazing ) , cherry blossom ( nice enough) there were 2 each per person.
Middle tier: 3 of each savoury item . Mini eclairs filled with fois gras and fig jam, chicken roulade on a tiny toasted scone, salmon and prawn mousse on brioche with caviar, !!!!alladiere with caramelised onion and roasted cherry tomato.
Bottom tier : 2 of each plain and fruit scone with jam and cream.
I had peppermint tea and OH had 2 pots of English Breakfast tea.
Then.....the cakes arrived...oh my goodness! #stuffed
Tiny chocolate cups filled with pear belle Helene, raspberry White chocolate dome, Mille feuille and the most exquisite tiny ,orange infused madelines served with lemon curd.
It was an absolutely lovely treat!
Then we wandered through the city, caught up with big 2 kids and had some food with them...as in pinched some chips as we were still stuffed and then we wandered up to the theatre where we were seeing :
Stephen K Amos as part of the comedy festival. It was funny, I was tired, I laughed but I may have been dozing off too, towards the end!
Home
Today, I woke up early-ish and it was rather chilly, put the heating on for the first time this year. We then heard on the radio that it been the coldest March night in 7 years , so I felt justified!
Had a chat with my sister, who I've not spoken to since Christmas day.
We took the dog for a walk and it was lovely, sun was just warming up but with a cool nip to the air. We've just started to let him off lead if there's absolutely nothing around. He had so much fun.
Then we went to a new place to us that was recommended by a friend. It was a cafe in the stables of a stately home, which unfortunately wasn't open today. I had an amazing breakfast of : banana cake (toasted) topped with marscapone , caramelised bananas, berries and toasted coconut. OH had scrambled eggs with pancetta on a toasted English muffin. It was very busy and we did have a very long wait ....( I always tell my customers if there's going to be a wait.....no one has ever waited 30 minutes for a latte! ) it was a nice experience , a treat but I wouldn't rush back because of the length of time we waited, I imagine they are busy all the time. It was very noisy and I had the start of a horrible headache coming on.
We had a nice wander around the formal gardens, admired the veggie garden....including the 3 biggest hens I have ever seen!
Came home and I went to bed with an absolutely thumping headache.
Up later and sorted out my wardrobe...again! Big bag of stuff for Salvos. I'd stored a pile of things to slim down into over 6 months ago and said I would keep them for 6 months....I have not slimmed down , I probably won't slim down enough to fit into them again, so out they go!
We had Indian food for dinner, not cooked by me! We watched the very bizarre episode of casualty.
We took dog for another walk/run round the oval and had a nice chat with neighbours on the way home.
Will soon be time for bed and back up at early o'clock for work but what a fab weekend off
Have a lovely Sunday ....enjoy that extra daylight tonight0
