ampersand - you do need to be carful about the watched one and it dragging you down - I am sure I could find some good reading about this - emotional labour and burnout is my topic of interest - it makes you entirely human in every sense of the word to be affected by this - and yes you have a life to live too! so don't be too hard on yourself!

My day has been under a cloud - cough keeping me up at night and voice disappearing mid sentence is not a great combination for a busy day in work! Anyway - stop moping and find some pleasures!

    1. Wet and miserable so weather fitted my mood perfectly - or the other way round! - but it amused me!
    2. Constructive meeting in work and lots of enthusiasm which hopefully means less effort on my part to get people to do their bit!
    3. After a dodgy start got a 'well done' from my boss - she of little faith! - I always get the job done even if is by a hairs breadth!
    4. No effort dinner of left overs from the weekend - healthy too!
    5. Early night planned - just need to stop coughing and sleep!

    Better day ordered for tomorrow!!!!

Thankyou vicky[you won, we lost at w/e - blast from mourad via Var-Matin. 'On n'est plus champion.......'] and judi - your comments much appreciated.

As for 'cough keeping me up at night and voice disappearing mid sentence', similar ici. Came from nowhere. Thought it was extreme rugby shouting at first. Whisky and lemon or whisky and orange are excellent - not that I've had any this time:-)

re:'emotional labour and burnout......' usually I am the stalwart and the non-stopper and the motivator and the listener and the soak-all sponge, the do-er, the reassembler of birds with broken wings[which late and blvd R would warn against].

The little thing given yesterday was perhaps something of a watershed.

'nuf of that. Normals now and can't wait to head to byes.

    1. reverbe - £5 note in ages-since-worn coat pocket.

    2. Like my new 'phone and will play-learn with it more shortly.

    3. Yawning immensely and often. Was going to begin prep. for big desserts for tmrw night's agape meal. Won't. Demain will do:-)

    4. Made more corn fritters to satisfy some continuing urge at mid-day. They are far too yummy and unlike anything & really approves of...oh well, best olive oil for friterie.

    5. Big wind and rain and nasty ongoing. Saw far back dividing fence vertically split and gaping. Looked next door and saw neighbour's new puppy playpen reinforcement has caused it. Luckily he came out and saw same. Fixed by rtn ce soir.

    .......have now Vicky:-)

Agree with one of the peep-tweets...not a phan of face fur and they're all doing it atm.

Well, he needs to drum some defence sense into Toulon during one of his monthly training seshes. We led 18-0 at half-time, then lost 34-24. Var-Matin comments are choice.

    1) beautiful morning. even had the window at work open
    2) macaroni cheese for lunch. last portion out the freezer. was yum
    3) someone brought in chocolate crispy cakes made with fruit and fibre so obviously :A
    4) went to Agape service at the cathedral. Was lovely - 2 trestle tables top end of the nave. 3 courses of middle eastern food interspersed with readings, prayer and simple songs, then blessing each other with oil scented with myrrh and sharing communion bread and wine
    5) lift home from mum and now tucked up in bed. the weather deteriorated and is now cold and wet, so the joy is now being in the warm

Good afternoon from warmsville, we are enjoying some pleasant weather after the cool night air has been warmed by the sun. Very chilly first thing and once sun's gone down.

I had an excellent day at work.

Most pleasant drive home , I think I got every light at red but the colours on the trees made up for it, a stunning display of autumn leaves.

All my babies in at the one time. School hols, day off uni and the other no uni until later meant they were all in .

OH came home from work early which was a nice surprise. We went a walk with dog via the Salvos to drop off a bag of stuff and the library to return books and stick some mags back in the box. I do hope someone enjoys my UK mags :)

Girls have made brownies and I'm going to make a chicken pie for dinner tonight.

    Have a happy Tuesday :)

ampersand thanks for reminding me about corn fritters. A cheap and yummy fave here, not had for a while (and perfect way to mop up HM chilli jam!)

I'm the household cheerleader too, however recently I've realised that sometimes I simply have nothing to give and have to pass my pom poms onto OH to recharge. Sometimes being a little selfish allows you to look after those around you better IMO

    1. HM butternut squash soup - always delish, and now the freezer is starting to clear.

    2. Got lots more planted in the allotment (though the winds last night kept me worrying about everything being blown out of the ground!)

    3. House looking clean and clear - feeling on top of things.

    4. DD had a fab time at first day of holiday camp, which relieves my guilt at dropping her there so I can get some work down

    5. Managed to get a bargain on a huge roll of MDPE pipe for the allotment.

    6. Watching Big Allotment Challenge on Youtube cuddled up to OH last night.

Pleasures for yesterday (Monday). Writing this may take my mind off the delightful septic tank emptying that is progressing...

    1) A lie in!

    2) Sons went to the barbers and had very short hair cuts.

    3) A lovely drive through the Cotswolds. Also, a complete waste of time drive as Snowshill Manor was shut (?) and both roads leading to Broadway Tower were closed for resurfacing so we couldn't go there either!

    4) Went to Croome (NT) for lunch and a run round in gale force winds.

    5) Went swimming with sons and my brother.

    6) Made a chilli for tea.

Getting irritated today because bigger son can't stop fiddling for one minute and I need to get packed for Wales tomorrow. It used to be easy as I would do it at 9pm when they were asleep. Now I don't have that window of opportunity and they have both half packed random things. :-/
