ampersand - I agree about the face fur - DH is under strict instructions NOT to follow the trend - however, I can allow Mr Wilkinson that one error of judgement.
My friends seem to be popping out their third borns this week. One old school friend had number 3 on Saturday, another school friend had number 3 today and a uni friend's due date (for number 3!) is tomorrow! An expensive week for me, but a good week for the Post Office!
1) Posted another eBay parcel. :j
2) Took ANOTHER bag of clothes to the charity shop. The lady recognised me from yesterday - she was grateful, but I promised her that I was slowing down with the clear out!
3) Used my (full) Cafe Nero card to get a hot chocolate. I remember one of the staff members telling me to make the most of having a full card - ie go for the biggest, most expensive drink!
4) Finished the ironing!! :j :j
5) Reading my magazine. Time at last - and feet up with a cuppa!Sealed Pot Challenge #021 #8 975.71 #9 £881.44 #10 £961.13 #11 £782.13 #12 £741.83 #13 £2135.22 #14 £895.53 #15 £1240.40 #16 £1805.87 #17 £1820.01 declared0 -

2) lunch with gbf. i had hm pasta salad. he had brought 2*2 finger kitkats for afters as he realised buying pack at mr t cheaper than canteen
3) caught bus down to main campus and a friend did too so caught up with him. a nice blether, and i can reclaim the bus fare (and feel good that i saved the uni the diff between that and the taxi fare)
4) at my meeting one of the profs (she of history cold case fame) got a tickly cough. i happened to have a couple of mints in my bag given to me saturday. pass it onthen got given 3 small packs of tictacs so put those in bag for emergencies

Face fur. Oh fear. Look, treat it as a rug. And chest hair. Meant to be. Any problems see me bored name.
Fighting the world wrongs!
On the edge of Sparrashire again. One too go! And it is egg chomping time.
Now, where was BoP.
Good judgement comes from knowledge, knowledge comes from understanding when judgement was wrong!0 -
Not a fan of face fur either - however it does create opportunities for conversation on a night out! I remember once having a rather drunken conversation with 2 chaps in a bar in Leeds about it - they were rather lovely about my rant about it!!!
Feeling slightly better today but this horrible cough is driving me insane! sound like there is a lot of it about!!! Pass the tic tacs DD - I'll pass them on to & as she was also suffering!!!
1. Blowing a gale here - bins knocked over and trees falling down round about - not exactly a pleasure you would think - but I do love big weather to make me feel part of a bigger world!
2. Work crazy busy - but a few dramas dealt with and crises averted!
3. Made cupcakes before work instead of nipping to shop on the way to work for a leaving do! saving me money and impressing everyone!
4. Had a very healthy dinner tonight - managing to stick to my healthy eating plan despite having a cold and wanting to curl up with a cup of tea and a cream egg! (or 3!)
5. Only 2 more days in work then 10 days off!!!!0 -
Perhaps I am alone in being a fan of the hairier man (so far as I can recall!)
Pleasures for today (Tuesday)
1) Septic tank emptied.
2) Handyman couldn't make it which is a pleasure in that his £50 can wait until next week!
3) Finally nailed my colours to the mast and am now a paid up member of the British Humanist Association. Which leads us to....
4) Went to parents' to do paced egg rolling!
5) Bigger son peeled and chopped half a bin liner (really!) of parsnips that brother gave me. Bags parboiled and in the freezer and lots of roast parsnips for our tea.
6) Sons hard work all day :-/ Smaller son was going to have a shower this evening and I asked for his hoodie so I could put it in the washing machine straight away (so it will be clean to wear on holiday tomorrow). He wouldn't take it off as he hadn't a T shirt on underneath.
I asked him where it was. "On the roof". Bigger son piped up, "Oh, not OUR roof! I was waving it around when we were playing by the village hall and the wind caught it and it's on the roof of the hall"....
7) Enjoyed Holby City.0 -
1. Excellent long weekend away
2. Apparently it snowed quite heavily where I was staying with friends in Yorkshire on Thursday morning but I was having a lie-in and missed it. Thank goodness.
3. Fun evening on Thursday, went to a super restaurant to celebrate, belatedly, my anniversary and a friend's birthday. A lady in her 80's who had us laughing like drains with her stories of her nursing days
4. On to Blackpool on Friday for a convention, two meetings before a walk along the promenade, although sunny we were fighting a gale the whole way - bracing. The hotel food was excellent, luckily they have a state of the art gym which we put to good use.
5. More meetings on Saturday morning then visited DS and family at teatime. We went to a restaurant by the river to celebrate DGS's 18th birthday then he had a nightclub party with his college friends.
6. Several very successful meetings on Sunday before leaving Lancs to go back to Yorks, where my friend's partner had a huge roast dinner waiting for us. Yorkshire included, of course.
7. Up with the sparrers for the drive home on Monday but not before I'd been very well fed and watered.
8. Back to my own bed last night having slept in two others in 5 days. They were lovely but last night I slept like a log.
8. Had a super long weekend full of eatings and meetings, feeling grateful to be able to do all these things, have the support of my family and hopefully help others on their journey.
Sweet dreams0 -
Glad you had such a lovely weekend sparrer
Ampersand please remember to be kind to yourself as well as all the other people you help in so many ways.
Day offand then only 3 shifts to work and then 3 more off.
Sharing the most stunning sunrise with my husband, we both said at the same time, look at the sky! It was glorious.
Nice chat with friend on phone.
Ironing fairy not about so I had to iron! Watched Holby whilst doing it.
DD2 and I went out a gallivanting! Well, we had some lunch at local cafe, then hobbled over to the pharmacy, our little town is currently being dug up ( in the name of progress and should look nice once finished but at the moment is a bit of a nightmare! ) , we had to go the long way to the pharmacy to hire a different set of crutches for her. At a cost of $1/ day hire. The ones she has hurt her too much so trying out other kind to see if they are more comfortable.
Newly concreted pavement outside pharmacy covered in freshly made dog paw prints! A dog had ran across as the men were just smoothing the concrete.
An afternoon of Uk telly.....whilst a sausage casserole cooked away in the slow cooker.
Discovered ' banished ' on BBC2 , has anyone else been watching it.also watched , Back in time for dinner which I've been enjoying.
Very warm here but very dull and very windy...storm forecast for later tonight.
Have a good day0 -
Not able to post for a couple of days.
1. Had spag bol last night which was very tasty.
2. DS1 and 2 not arguing too much and helping out with the washing when prompted.
3. Managed at work doing something I wasn't looking forward to and it went surprisingly well.
4. Eating fairly healthily.0 -
Look, switch off ifs you no like face fur. Aye, rub it in yer!
Quick BoP inn as homeski the morrow. So get on the queue on the M4. BoP nose the way round. Got it, and not telling you.
5 Early POETS day, but every minute counts, kerching! Last on the edge of SparraShires, next well into darkest SparraLands. Looked at Digs, one wants you to clean the place. No, No No, No. Look, I drop the toenails in the bath, towels on the floor and the bed unravelled. Come back, toenails gone, bed made and ....
4 Rant. I am now convinced that Public Joe and Joanna, do not know what decent food is. the place is full of foamed drinks, carbonated ice cubed essences, not a fruit or vegetable in site! The server has a noodle store. I am guessing they are as fresh as 8 hours old. Looks like gooed up mess. And fatties, yeah, the stuff your faces come in and think it is decent. No wander the hotels near me seem where BoPsie and mes hangs out, have been disappointed twice recently. BoP is now going to stop all fur lovers and ... from carp foods.
3 Nearly got work putah working proper, got excess to the pictures to day, not the albmums, but the drawings. Work starts.
2 And on the quest against food of carp, canteen at work, decent salad, with smackerel last day and Quiche today, and fruit juice, £3:50. Well sated and rubs tum.
1 Not what you could do for your tummy, but avoid carp foods!0
