5 OS Pleasures in your Day Today part 2

I love reading this thread, it makes me slow down and think about how lucky and blessed I am.
1- Today my Hamster Wheel (I seem to run continiously but alas not physicaly!) is at a standstill.
2- My mother is five weeks post op, she is doing well and today I do not have to remove and replace her elastic stockings.Only one more week to go, it's a feet thing _pale_
3- Dinner is already done just got to lift it out of the freezer. (HM Enchiladas)
4- Small amount of housework to do but after that SFA!
5-Wait for my tired overworked better half who is at the Salt Mines doing nine hour shifts all weekend.
So today I have space, peace, serenity and a rare chance to be myself instead of Wife, Daughter, Mother or Grandma. :TGive us the strength to encounter that which is to come, that we may be brave in peril, constant in tribulation, temparate in wrath, and in all changes of fortune, and down to the gates of death, loyal and loving to one another.”0 -

Dear mhags,
That is such a wonderful reflective post, I've switched putah on[was going to have a deliberate OFF day today]in order to thank you for sharing it.
In fact, 'thanks' button was hit from new phone, 1st time ever. No mob. has worked like that from &squat before, so more cheers here. I'm liking this motoE.
Might as well continue, without lunettes which may be...
[a]in mud and grass from 14h outdoor service yesterday[became quite rainy 3/4way through],
in Church down there[after] or
[c]wherever one of you has hidden them up. All I know is that my red noose loops were dangling empty when I looked down later. Blast!
So, - great Good Friday here too mhags.
1. Part of 3 Service attendance yesterday was to gather up every willing sig. possible for Vic's bday card, SURREPTITIOUS EXTREME. SUPER DEVIOUS. Easy enough for Chinese astro.Rat. [That certainly rides well with Good Friday, &.] Managed damned well and all was great, still feeling so. The warmth and gratitude and feeling for this person and the embracing nature of what now happens around here was resounding, in and beyond Church.
I think I'm going to put this here now, & being another Giles Fraser fan.

Had printed it out for last night/reflection. Vic's husband said that GF's Occupy protest moved him to take part.
2. Trailer loaded [neighbour's farmlet re-workings, latest version] and have just found dump IS open over Easter. Rainy again out, but just want the stuff gone and no longer bowing &'s fence.
3. Just heard a great Thought for the Day [anything with a George Steiner mention grabs &'s ears] Great farming prog today too - free-range turkey eggs:-) Will include link tomorrow, doesn't seem to show up straight away.
4. Memorial Rugby match later today.
5. Colours nailed, donation made+DD set up, sign/poster requested. Little hope in this constituency, but the freedom to have even that little hope is not cherished everywhere. Kenya yesterday, another reminder.
Voting is vital: however you vote, please do it.
&'s maman took many 'blue' voters, otherwise sans transport, to the Polls.
After her death, & learnt from quite a number that her life-long transparent principles meant they'd 'secretly' changed their vote to a pinker hue.

'What Britain wants
In the early 1970s, New Zealand's Prime Minister Norman Kirk laid out a political philosophy which still resonates today. People, he said, don't want much. They want: "Someone to love, somewhere to live, somewhere to work and something to hope for."
Relationships and a sense of community, a secure home; a secure job, and a belief that life will get better for us and our children - the building blocks of "the good life", but what do they mean today as we grapple with globalisation, austerity, immigration, insecurities and uncertainty about the future? Is the job at hand to work out a new formula for fulfilment or to find a way back to these old certainties?'

1 Why I walked along the sands, to see the tide and sea. Yet you were with me all the time. The waters rinsed the footprint from behind, but we only left one pair of marks. But you asked why only one set of prints, all the way, you ...
Thanks for carrying me, when I needed it so!0 -

Good evening from cool Melbourne, our clocks went back through the night.so we are now just 9 hours ahead of the UK.
Up early...phone and iPad said 4am....body clock and wrist watch said 5am, I was momentarily confused then remembered.
Up early with the dog and we watched Eastenders and casualty from underneath a cosy blanket.
OH and I took dog with us on a road trip to country Victoria. The vastness of the countryside is just so monumental ,it's huuuuuge and just rolls on and on for miles and miles ( or kilometres and kilometres over here! ) we are having a stunning start to autumn and the colours of the trees are just wonderful.
We stopped at Daylesford first, which is a ' spa' town. We had a quick lunch....as quick as we could eat as we were bombarded with so many wasps. Because we have the dog we had to sit outside. I had a very nice quiche and salad . Then we had a wander around the town but it was rather busy with too many people for the dog....we live in sleepy ville!
Back in the car and drove along to Castlemaine , which was lovely , this was a gold mining town ( they all were in this part of Vic) I really liked this town, it had a nice feel to it and we found a nice cafe to sit outside and share some carrot and coconut cake .No wasps! We had s bit of a wander round there and then back to the car.
Drove through more rural countryside, as I grew up /lived near countryside in Scotland I do like to see cows and sheep ....with the occasional llama! The only kangaroos we saw were 'sleeping ' at the side of the road!
Home and spag Bol being made by chef OH!
We celebrate him still being here 1095 days after devastating diagnosis. More than we could ever have hoped for back then. Very thankful!
I received so much support from this forum then ( as I do now) and even in the darkest days , of which there were many, it helped me find the positive things that were still around.
Happy Easter to you all, I don't know if you remember my temper tantrum last Easter when my children did not want to do anything and I made them! Well....apart from displaying my little wooden bunny bought in the sale last Easter Monday, it's all I've done ( well ....that and the Easter straws and napkins in our picnic bag today ) ...have not bought or said anything about it to my miserable children! So that's money saving
Do have a fun day, enjoy your eggs, DD hope you celebrate with a glass of something, ampersand enjoy your tea!
I fell off the no sugar thing a couple of weeks ago. I'm usually quite good at giving up but maybe it was a step too far!0 -
Risen
And not a chocolate in sight!
5 RosMerie tinted roast tattiness, hand peeled by BoPsie, are in the oven next to the Buzzard. Will be served with carrot swede chops, and peas. With hand hacked BoPsie Onion Stuffing. Served with gravy will be soon done. All hail the kitchen slave BoP. The last crumbs of home made xmas pud will be added.
4 And then feet up, waggle and ...
3 Poor weekend on the bet, only one win, and not rushing to the next premium bond. Sat £88 short at the moment, but last one has arrived. In it.
2 night me and the currant BoPsie are hitting town!
1 Bird song this morning, just wandering what the punters are doing if there pre prepared chicken in the emporium is not there this day!0 -

5) Went to a pub in Woodstock.
6) Watched Casualty.

Today

5) Lots of Skype calls from smaller son.
6) Sunny day.
7) School friend here for tea! (Back to see her parents).
8) Sitting in front of the stove now, ready to watch Skyfall.0 -
He is risen allelujah allelujah, but i find it a bit strange cos He's been risen for years. but easter has been good
1) back to old church cos they were short of an organist. although i would never describe myself as an organist i did manage to get some of the notes in the right order at a good tempowas funny to be 'home'. sermon very good
2) then home for lunch - smoked salmon yum
3) super sunny day though only mowed the lawn before
4) down town with dd1 and ds. we had icecreams and sat on a park bench in the sun while we waited for dd2 to come out of work. then we got her an icecream too
5) they came home and i went to the cathedral choral evensong. before hand big issue seller was nearly in tears with me cos he's homeless. i felt very powerless. chatted to fellow congregation bod whose just had her son (aged 17 with special needs) removed due to her spending a month in gaol, and again felt powerless. sat and listened to both, what else could i do? not entirely an mse positive, but church bod did thank me after for listening. some people do have to put up with an awful tough burden and who am i to judge? then broke my lenten fast with post-service prosecco.
