Oooh, didn't realise that face fur was such a hot topic.
BoP - my DH has chest hair, so I have no issue with that... but very little on his head. There was a comedian (Lee Hurst) who commented that he was just waiting for a cowboy hair to go and round up his chest hair and return it to his head.
Day ok... until this evening. My grandma is erm, "reaching the end". She hasn't recognised me for the past couple of years, but she has still recognised my dad (thank goodness). My brother and dad are with her now, and she is sleeping. I just hope that, if this is it, then it's without pain.
Seems wrong to have pleasures, so I'll be brief.
1) Seen a friend and caught up on everything.
2) Worked through my "to do" list.
3) Managed to read some of my magazine.
4) And my book.
5) My family. They're great.Sealed Pot Challenge #021 #8 975.71 #9 £881.44 #10 £961.13 #11 £782.13 #12 £741.83 #13 £2135.22 #14 £895.53 #15 £1240.40 #16 £1805.87 #17 £1820.01 declared0 -
Some fur confusion developing on our Thread of Pleasures.
& loves some fur[a guilty], just not face-type[male or female]. BUT long hair on either is a Yes.
& is not the 2-time winner of Lottery Million - just thought I'd better clarify.

1. An extra daylight hour...really? Seem to be having to fit in twice as much since. Just about managing today. Will finish another 'Sorry to ask, but..' extra after this.
2. Wonderful agape meal and occasion last night. Well met, bien mang!, bien bu and with interesting new people. We all ensured we didn't sit with same as last year.
3. 2 of us leaving looked up, noted full moon sailing high and simultaneously remembered remarking on same last year.
4. A rogue pêche de vigne has sprung up - why there? how come? - and pink blossom's just daring to out, despite Urals blasts over Fens. Some horrid hail today.
5. & wants hwb, will have a whisky too - feels right for another Thread tonight.

Sorry to hear about your Grandma Vicky - its good that you and your family are around her and taking care of each other.
Cough still being a pain - but feel a little better although sooo tired!!! I could sleep at 7pm if the kids would let me!
so pleasures and a early night I think!
1. Took my friend to hospital appointment first thing - no signs of any new problems in her problem arm (just her hip and back to sort now!) - good reminder of how fragile life is - a year ago we were planning a long distance bike ride now she can hardly walk - pleasure is the realisation that we need to value every day and make the most of it! and that she still has her crazy sense of humour despite all the problems - shows the true strength of the human spirit!
2. Met my 2 new managers for lunch (on the house too!) Full management team together for the first time - and I think we will be great!!!!
3. One of them brought a carrot cake! (naughty but nice!)
4. Amazing dinner and kids surprisingly loved it too - big and colourful salad with home made potato salad - kids had spam (the spam mountain has been replenished by the Reverend mother - its a long story) I had other cold meat - not a spam fan but kids are!
5. One more day in work then off for a week!!!!0 -
sending virtual tictacs to judi24 and &

2) dd2 made savoury mince yesterday. had some with pasta for lunch yum
3) gbf picked me up after my meeting on main campus and whisked me off to the opera - live beam from ROH rise and fall of mahagonny. we had curry and discovered they've introduced a discount for people with cinema tickets
4) opera was fab. i know moon of alabama being a total bowie fanatic but didn't know the opera at all. turned out to be very apt for holy week
5) back home to mad dogs. gbf is potty about them so came in for a cuppa. and left 5 easter eggs nom nom.MrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

Sorry to hear about your grandmother Vicky, but glad to know she's surrounded by family and you sound well supported
My pleasures (for yesterday)
1. Went to Lidl and got wine and flowers for friends dinner party for under £6. Also made them some HM bread. Felt a bit guilty being so tight, but we actually enjoyed the wine and my friend was thrilled with the Chrysanths (£1.70 for a decent bunch ) and bread
2. HM butternut squash soup for lunch. A really simple recipe, but so creamy and filling
3. Dinner, made my friends - absolutely delish.
4. OH cleaned the house and it looked fab (Note past tense...never lasts long :rotfl:)
5. DD wasn't feeling well so I kept her back from summer camp and we had a lovely day together in the end
6. We managed to cobble together a catwoman outfit for the last day of summer camp. Old black tights were cut and became a tail, made ears out of clips and black card, dressed her in black, found a mask in my room and used eyeliner for whiskers. Not very authentic but she was thrilled0 -
Brrrr! Feels a bit chilly tonight. Got long jeans on ( as opposed to usual attire of cropped!) and a big thick cardi on. Another bright but cool autumn day, glorious trees and leaves being blown off the trees onto the streets .
Work was very busy ...all blooming day ! Felt I was chasing my tail all day but caught up in the end.
Came home to a lovely letter from one of my letter writing friends back home.
Hairdressers. Begone grey hair.
Curry for dinner.
My first cream egg
Have a good day.0 -
Quick pleasures for yesterday while Ive got internet! Am on phone....
1) easy journey to Bala.
2) met sister and brother in law plus baby in cafe.
3) ice cream at ice cream town!
4) despite a gale, had a campfire on the beach.
5) fish and chips at Aberdyfi
6) chess etc and hot chocolate in the bunk house.0 -
Happy (belated) birthday mhagster!
VickyA - thinking of you & hoping you have a full freezer, as cooking *seems* wildly unimportant.
Eavesdropping on a bloke frustratedly wanting a cab. "Four, Demon place!" - well, dearman actually, but a kindlier woman sorted him.
"Wastebin corrupted" - on colleague's PC. OK my imagination's tickled. Booze? !!!!!!? (Plus, who is Bill Gates to judge?!)
Someone cycled in this morning & I can hear the shower in use. Better still, I can hear the personal greatest hits they're humming as they scrub.
Boiler flashing error code & I fixed it with a pair of pliers & leaning on the reset button. Didn't even need to look it up (this time, ahem.) Spring is coming - snowflakes & hailstones strewn along her path...
Eavesdropping on son, cheerfully bossing his granny. Normal conduct for the recently bereaved this is not, but from the speed & tone of exchanges, not unwelcome. He can nag her about taking her pills & eating, where we fear to tread.
While school abuzz with imminent holiday feeling! Even staff beaming at a fortnight of No Bells!
Scaff poles being hauled up - can't help thinking there must be a more efficient way, but chucking lines of pole isn't a runner. Why is engineering so fascinating to watch?!
We have all helped dig a hole for the tree. [It then snowed...] We planted a sessile oak tree. There's a lot of length on it - we had to prune nearby shrubbery, and it would appear that collectively we cannot agree on "upright". Meh - tree in earth, and family happier.
Amidst boring sport report on TV, spectacular backdrop photo of gymnast lass in complex stretch upside down. Mid spectacular flying dismount, I guessed based on the gloves. Hmm, worrying if it was table tennis, agreed OH. My ribs *ache* from near-desperate laughter at the idea.
Aw - peeked in on exam revision - in onesie sat up in bed. I'm beginning to believe teen's serious about this, despite the dress code.
Two honeysuckles planted. Absolutely part of that lovely man that even the weed he tolerated was a beautiful delight to the senses, and the two will hopefully outmanoeuvre the ivy.
Poldark "we get on"... <sighs affectionately with a grin at husband>
Waking up to morning light - sky blue & pink, and recognising day not still-dark night.
"Have a good time?" "Sure! I got hiccups, I laughed so much." Hurrah for Explorer Scouts...
Cherry tree buds so plump that we may have cherry blossom for Easter!
The little yellow pedestrian ramps by the building site have a fun bounce. Grown ups can miss out on these childish pleasures.
Son applied grout to granny's showercube tiles. Happy Granny, happy child & absolute certainty All Areas Properly Sorted as he's small & bendy enough to fit & OCD enough to do a really good job.
Big hugs to all who need them, tic tacs & crutches & brandies likewise & hoping you have a cracking Bank Holidays Weekend!0 -
1. chatting to a friend on the phone
2. looking at plants in the garden growing nicely
3. taking the JRT for a walk
4. awaiting the arrival of DGS whoes coming to stay for a few days
5. warm enough to not light the fire!0 -
Frith your holiday sounds great0
