mhags what a journey you've all been through, yet come this far still holding together. We can't begin to imagine the strength you have as a family, suffice to say you all have my most sincere admiration.
DD is it not rather like celebrating someone's birthday every year? They only have one but woe betide us if we don't remember them
Thank you for the BoP version of Footprints. Appropriate for so many these days.
meme hope you took advantage of your 'me' time, and wish you more of the same soon
1. DNeighbour went to Wales with her OH for the weekend, while I looked out for her DD. She phoned me to say they'd had an amazing 'stroll' and the views were breathtaking - from the top of Snowdon! I knew she was going to try but as she's never climbed more than a flight of stairs before she did wonderfully well. Her DD and I have a surprise celebration dinner for them when they get back.
2. DGD2 is settling in the flat without her now ex-OH, a very trying time for her but the whole family has rallied and is helping to hold her up. The ex-OH's father has bought her a washing machine and plumbed it in, so good of him as he's not only the ex OH's father but her step-father (and my son-in-law). All very complicated - to others
3. Treated myself to a pair of IC's. Saw them, fell in love with them, 'need' them for my next holiday, and I deserved an Easter present. Still remember that fatal day when I fell for them in the shop window, &
4. Made next door's DD a roast dinner and Sparrer mess. My version of Eton mess, as I don't like strawberries I use raspberries and 1/2 Greek yogurt mixed with 1/2 rf cream to keep the calories down. We cleared the bowl between us.
5. Made plans for tackling the garden, was going to do it today but too windy and my eyes are still quite sore and none too clear. Will try again tomorrow, not giving up because of a bit of 'grit'.

Evening! It was dark at 6.30pm which was a bit of a shock!
Another lovely day off.
Woke up early....of course!
Phoned friend back home, me and my dog sat on the sofa in the office as the sun came up.blooming freezing!
nipped into next town to get a few things .
Then we went on another road trip. We went down the Bellarine Peninsula. Melbourne sits at the top of a horse shoe shaped bay. So we went down the left hand side today. Right hand side on Friday.
We stopped at a lovely little bay ( just us and a zillion surfers! ) and had such a lovely time. Tide was really coming in and we got soaked a few times! Dog had a ball, OH and him were in and out if the sea....I sat on the steps and took lots of photos.
Drove round the coast, stopped at Torquay and had some lunch, which was totally unremarkable.
Drove home ( may have had a snooze in the car)
Think I will be in bed early tonight, lots to do tomorrow , so shall write a list and start the day early.
Have a good holiday Monday0 -
Evening,
All boring stuff today but things that needed doing.
1. Jet washed the patio and also the roof on the conservatory. It gets mucky during the winter so the green algae needs dealing with
2. Put the patio table and chairs out.
3. Mowed the lawns and tidied up
4. Sat on the bench in the garden admiring it all this afternoon in this beautiful sunshine with a cup of tea.
5. Going to have a bath tonight - because I deserve itCat, Dogs and the Horses are our fag and beer money:beer:

BoP if you're going where I think you're going it's called Central Beds, not Mid Beds, these days. Why the change? Because some faceless little penpusher had no work and didn't want to lose their job so created havoc by changing a perfectly good name, which meant puters had to be adjusted, forests of literature and letterhead was wasted and goodness knows how many other costly changes were made. And they have the gall to tell us that they have to increase council tax
mhags it sounds like just another hectic day in the Mhags household
R-D What a lovely feeling it must have been to sit and admire all your hard work
Welcome topsyturphy, a lovely OS list for your day
1. spent 2 1/2 hours getting the garden ready for Spring planting
2. charged the garden lights batteries
3. planted two new roses
4. DN'bour's DD cut back some shrubs growing over the wall from the orchard
5. we sat on the back doorstep and watched the black squirrel bustling about in the trees until a child appeared in a garden beyond the orchard and squealed with pleasure at seeing it, and scared it away
Sweet dreams
eta DD I had to stop and think how you knew, thought you were psychic there for a minute! Then I realised...d'oh!0 -
Pleasures for today (Monday, which has confused me all day).
1) Not a bad sleep. Ending in dreaming I was Adrian Mole (but I still had my sons - this seemed perfectly possible in the dream!). I had accidentally set something on fire but it was fine because Russell Brand was helping me with my court case.
2) Brother came round to help me move fireplace ready for handyman tomorrow.
3) Painted wall where fireplace will go back (left a gap round the fireplace, knowing it would be taken down) and re-blackleaded fire.
4) Went to the poor, abandoned allotment and planted 3 rows of potatoes, 3 of peas and 2 of lettuce. :-) Almost too hot in the sun.
5) Sainsburys (at last, have had no sensible food in the house since coming home from holiday!)
6) Had lunch at mum and dad's.
7) Went swimming with my brother.
8) Home again for a tidy up, 2 crème eggs (Easter present from brother) and a bit of tea.
9) Games night with brother and brother in law. Niece was sleeping nicely. Nearly 11 weeks old.
10) Back and watched TV and had an online chat with a friend I haven't seen for a while.
11) Skype with sons.
Another busy one tomorrow - everything has to be painted, dusted, sorted by next Monday!0 -

Back on Thursday. Thanks for the last week of posts - they have been amazingI wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
Brrrr, it's wet and chilly over here. I was full of good intention and then it started to pour with rain and I thought nah! I'll just stay in and not spend any money at all!
House is tidier.
Dog had a good walk before the rain came on.
Poldark watched.
The company and laughter of 3 children and a daft dog this afternoon.
Made the most awful soup.....and a nice enough carrot and coconut cake, we had a a car/ coc cake the other day and I thought I would try and replicate it but it was a bit drier than the one we had. Tasty enough just not as delicious.....it got eaten though!
DD1 made chicken fajitas for tea and I cobbled together a banoffi tart of sorts, using and out of date pastry case that I'd bought for DDs 18th which I hadn't used.
Three lovely days off...gone in a flash! Almost bedtime for me and up early in the morning !
Happy Tuesday0
