Feeling blue for the last few days; whilst I know it will pass, it's blooming annoying whilst it's with me :( Going to do my 'old favourite' of listing the sad things, before remembering the great....

    1. Daddykin's nasty snide comments especially today making me remember that now DD is at her new school, we are even more stuck than we were before living with them, and me being treated like an unwanted child *sigh*

    2. Feeling like is this all there is to my life - being constantly reminded of how much others do for me, working my guts out and worrying that it's not enough, and not knowing how I can change things.

    3. Gruesomely Rubenesque :(

    4. Feeling lonely, can't see how I'll ever have more of a social life, or even a romantic one, if I'm constantly tied to lesson planning and being a dutiful daughter :(

    5. Have a horrible meeting about children's data tomorrow and another observed lesson that I'm struggling to plan coming up this week (both with the same person).

    Right, on to the good.....

    1. DD and her amazing love :)

    2. It was sunny yesterday.

    3. Hug from my TA on Friday morning when the blueness started.

    4. Lovely church service on Friday night at the church linked in to my school.

    5. Got a 'good' rating for one of my book scrutinies (teacher stuff).

see below. and such a lovely day i'm going to be greedy and go for 10
    1) hanging out washing and seeing mini daffs in garden all open
    2) finding a pound while giving dogs their first walk of the day (and they slept in till 7:30 hooray
    3) great service. one of our congregation with learning difficulties gave me a christmas card. you may remember last week i bought myself a very nice rainbow card to cheer myself up then had lunch with a friend who needed it more. this one is a traidcraft hand-embroidered card with hearts all the way round and will go where i was going to put the rainbow one. i feel truly blessed
    4) lunch with 2 friends from cathedral. we went to an italian i've not visited before. £5.95 for main course (25 to choose from). i had a very nice sausage and lentil stew with mash. decided today should be a non-alcohol day to make up for my lenten lapse 2 fridays ago at dear friend's leaving do. diet coke is very :money: for me - i'm really not keen so the time G had 2 large glasses of wine i just about managed one alcohol-free calorie-free drink
    5) money saved then went on a taxi up to cineworld as couldn't work out a convenient bus that would get me there (have now via reverse engineering). went to see bolshoi dancing prokofiev's romeo and juliet live from. Saved £2.30 by showing uni card. was absolutely fabulous
    6) saved money by walking home, and called in l!dl to buy some essentials. arms nearly dropping off by the time i got home but had enormous self-satisfied feeling.
    7) lish bean stew and pasta for supper (started off by needing to use up 2 going soft tomatoes)
    8) finished book
    9) xoh back and helping girls make up the 2 day beds. diy is not my theng and it is hers so good she's teaching them how to be handy with a screwdriver
    10) poldark. swoon.

    mcculloch - hugs to you.
Kittikins - sorry you are feeling blue. hope writing it down helped somewhat.

I'm trying to keep busy tonight as OH has left now and I had the first night he goes.

Pleasures for the last 2 days.

1 - Very quick day at work yesterday. And a good result for the week too.
2 - Treats went down well at work so will make some more during the week.
3 - Yummy nachos. Not had them for a wee while so extra tasty.
    4 - OH and I did a 3D jigsaw of Graceland.
5 - Kept on top of the housework. Tidy house makes my mind much clearer.

    Good evening everyone :hello:

Hugs to Kittikins. You're doing an amazing job as a mother and a teacher, but I know what you mean about a social life. Mine is sadly lacking...

    My pleasures:

    1) Spending the weekend with DH and my parents, including a trip with my mum today to see the live broadcast of "Romeo & Juliet" by the Bolshoi Ballet.

    2) Poldark. *sigh*

    3) Sold a couple of books on eBay. Just need to wrap them!

    4) Nearly finished my book!

    5) Spending time outdoors for a prolonged amount of time in the sun. Amazing! Not warm, but nice to be outside without freezing my fingers off!

:-( Kittikins - hope you feel better soon.

Ampersand - hope you are OK and taking things easy.

    Pleasures for today:

    1) Another lie in! Smaller son woke 10.30 again. Bigger son was off on his bike by 8.30. :-/

    2) Sister texted to say new baby had slept in her carrycot for 5 hours!

    3) Porridge for breakfast.

    4) Off to the local motor racing in the afternoon. It was the bouncy hill climb today. This time, no one tipped over or slid in their car all the way down the hill to hit a car in the car park... I parked mine a long way back, just in case.

    5) Had a look at the allotment. Bigger son is looking forward to some stuff growing in it again.

    6) Tasty tea, although mainly leftovers. We chopped up the remaining few potatoes, carrots and parsnips and roasted those and had some basics fish cakes from Sainsburys that turned out to be really nice! Also used up a flat bread to have with them.

    7) Watched the Empire Strikes Back. Not my favourite but it does mean Return of the Jedi is next!

    8) Made a malt loaf.

(((Kittikins))) you're a lovely mother and daughter, try not to take things to heart. It was probably just a thoughtless remark.
Frith I saw & on line over the past couple of days, hopefully she's recovering and just doesn't feel up to spending too much time on line
Giddynmg your No. 5 is so true

    1. Forgot one for Friday, the car passed the MoT :)
    2. Woke to beautiful sunshine
    3. Long phone call with a friend who wanted me to talk her through checking in on line. She's going to Croatia, envious but I'm joining her there in a few months.
    4. The usual Sunday lunch with friends, always a pleasure
    5. Made a bit pot of soup in the sc, had some for tea then had another bowl as it was so good

    Sweet dreams :)

Evening all...just caught up on my UK telly, casualty and call the midwife, there's a lovely breeze blowing through the open patio doors, the cockatoos are screeching overhead on their way home to roost for the night.

Had a madly busy day at work. It was a public holiday for Labour Day today...so it was crazily busy ....for all the people with a day off! Anyway, another days wages earned and one more shift to go and then 2 days off together.

Home eventually and instead of heading off out for some food as we were going to do, we wandered over to local shop and bought some cold meat and coleslaw and had nice sandwiches instead.

Met a woman from our home town, who lives in our small town here, it was such a coincidence when Dd2 started primary school to find out she was from the same town. We bump into each other every now and again. Was nice to chat!

Not a pleasure as such ( more of a financial pain) but 2 sets of uni fees have been paid for semester 1..... I suppose the pleasure is I'd managed to save up the money by being a bit careful and a bit thrifty. Also we don't have horrific international fees to pay anymore...just plain domestic ones, which whilst a lot of money ( especially with 2 kids) are nowhere near as nasty.enough left to pay for next instalment of school fees due next month and then we start all over again, saving up for July and semester 2.
    #skint

Do have a lovely Monday :)

Hugs Kittykins - you are doing great - ignore the snide comments!
Yesterday started well but DS was struggling with xbox ban and was being an PIA most of the morning - dragged them out to Al*I and bought some seeds and seed trays with the aim of becoming green fingered once and for all (only been trying for about 10 years!!!) DS and I planted them up - just need to keep my not so green fingers crossed!!!! (oh and remember to water them!)

Had a lovely evening with a friend but that's probably not great o a Sunday as I wasn't in bed until late!

    So for yesterday:

    1. coffee in bed with the baldy chef and his mate ( I love lazy Sunday mornings!)
    2. Rain in the morning (good as I didn't feel guilty for staying in bed!) followed by sun later (perfect for planting up seeds)
    3. Delicious roast pork dinner - with lots left over too
    4. Very pleasant visit to friends last night
    5. Great phone chat with DD1 - she is feeling confused and lacking fulfilment in her job and doesn't know what she wants to do (after spending 5 years training as a pharmacist!) - welcome to adulthood! but looking forward to seeing her next weekend
