DFV yes Rainbow Bridge is a lovely read. It also brings comfort to so many who have lost a member of their family. Well done DS for avoiding what could have been a very embarrassing situation for both him and the young ladies
. Your fabric conversions sound lovely, for your use or for gifts?
Agreed &, we must all do whatever it takes to save our NHS. I've lived with it since its birth and I'm damned if I'm going to sit back and watch this government blatantly kill it bit by bit.
1. Closed the credit card account as they were going to start charging me £2 a month from this month but my earned interest is about the same so it won't be worthwhile. Only had it for a year so I won't miss it.
2. Juggled some pennies around and managed to put a goodly sum in my interest-earning current account.
3. Went to a meeting with friends then on to a hotel to celebrate a ruby wedding anniversary.
4. YS shopping all 9p, box of 2 fresh cream spiced apple muffins, pack of two red Little Gems, bag of 5 apples, cucumber, bag of 3 leeks, a cauli, a large pot of onken rf yogurt and loaf of WW Danish. There was more but quite a few people looking so thought I'd better leave some for them
5. Rained all day, a pleasure to see the grass getting greener after so much frost.
Sweet dreams0 -
Tea time here have been a nice mummy and made pancakes for kids ...can I have some more asked the 6 foot tall son, course you can my boy!
Also got a pot of soup on the go, carrot and parsnip and lentils and a smidge of curry powder, using up some scary bottom of the fridge veg.
Had an acceptable day at work. Finished at 1pm
Had my lunch at local cafe , pumpkin tart and caramel slice ( giving sugar up for lent so snjoyed every last crumb. ) started a new library book. Picked up some mags in swap box too.
Home and sat and relaxed and watched Eastenders specials that have been on.
It's been a much more pleasantly cool day.
Have a lovely Tuesday0 -
1. Work was reasonable today - had a few laughs with collegues.

4. DH arrived home earlier than normal.0 -
So, I go here, to my lauded Celia Lashlie [sod it - I will proudly add, 'countrywoman']and read this:

Every blessing beyond a count of all our fingers.
Very humbling words, and very true - sad to hear of her death before I even discovered her alive! - and yes every blessing (no matter how small) needs counting!0 -
Hello all I hope you are well
1. Got up nice and early this morning and got two loads of washing on and out on the line by 9.30am
2. Shot off to do a spot of food shopping and had the sun shining with me all the way.
3. Been a beautiful day here, breezy but just what the washing ordered.
4. Brought all the washing in at 2.30pm nearly all dried then spent a good five minutes with me sniffing the wonderful aroma of the washing from being dried outdoors. Gosh I have missed that scent, it's just smells fab. Sitting on the clothes horse now just finishing off.
5. Made the batter for the pancakes at lunchtime to give the gluten a time to relax, so it's going to be fab to have those in a bit. Not had pancakes in ages!Cat, Dogs and the Horses are our fag and beer money:beer:

1 - Scotch pancakes for breakfast. I prefer those ones.
2 - Sending the mail I wrote last night. I love getting hand written mail so hopefully the recipients feel the same.
3 - Having a team at work with a great work ethic. Makes things so much better.
4 - Pitta pizzas for dinner. So tasty for something so simple.
5 - Reading some beautiful quotes that really made me smile.0 -
Survived trampoline place with dignity just about intact! Made cupcakes and iced them, washed my bedding and dried outside, did more washing picked DD2 from work - and this is meant to be a holiday!! & link made me think all day about looking after myself with realisation that I don't do it very well! Need to sort that out! Also how important it is to count our blessings every day - this thread is so good for that!
So my 5 for today:
1. Fun with kids - although every joint and muscle aches now!!!
2. Bedding dried outside - smells lovely!! Can't wait to get it back onto the bed and get in!
3. Cupcakes for DD2 Birthday made with ingredients left over from friends birthday cake
4. NSD
5. Still smiling inside due to the kindness of a 'friend' i've never met!0 -
I agree that it's so important to count our blessings and the days when its harder to do this the more important it is.
1. Watching the sunrise and seeing the birds in the garden. A sort of pleasure was watching the rabbits running around - at least they weren't eating anything at the time.
2.Breakfast of scrambled eggs.
3. DH buying me flowers - tey were reduced! - 2 large bunches and also 16 apples cost him 14p. The flowers do look lovely.
4. Easy tea of fish pie and salad. Fish pie was from the freezer and tasted very good.
5. The staff at the vets who are so caring as I had to collect my dogs ashes. They try and make the experience as easy as possible.0 -
Busy day at work that made for a very crazy but quick morning.
Much cooler today...when I say cool , I do of course mean about 21o!
Very relaxed afternoon ( as in haven't done very much at all)
Will keep some pleasures for another day0 -
work goes from bad to worse so yes more important than ever to count my blessings
1) pancakes at 11 with colleagues - very nice. Due to tensions admin didn't come which i admit i was a little upset by (they ostensibly had their coffee break 30 minutes earlier) but will focus instead on who did turn up
2) lunch with gbf. he and his partner are off to new york today, going to the met and, as he overheard a child saying once, 'the statue of liabilities'
3) soup for supper - am working my way through frozen portions in chinese takeaway boxes. had defrosted by 6:30
4) xoh kindly picked me up from work and dropped me off at friends' for a pancake party. friend said 'was that p dropped you off/?' 'yes' 'and you didn't invite her in' so i explained she was dropping dd2 off at station in about an hour but she was calling by later lols.
5) pancakes lish, xoh did indeed turn up and we had a good evening, and mse-wise i didn't have to pay for a taxi homeMrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025
