Been busy so will catch up later.

    1. My chickens.

    2. Work -spent most of the week away from the people who create stress.

    3. Chicken soup for lunch - I worked out that if I include soup one chicken has made 18 meals. Also included DS1 helping himself.

    4. My kindle charger has arrived.

    5. DH not complaining with increase of veg and decrease of meat with meals - not sure how much he has noticed.

    6. DS2 has written his CV and it reads very well.

DD: Sounds like a wonderful start to a break
1.It was an early start today so I took in a low fat sandwich for effectively breakfast.:p
2.Working at home tomorrow, did I mention 6 days left.
3.There will be when I can be bothered to make it home made curry for tea, with naan from the freezer. The freezers are groaning from my hunter gather, hunker down mode.
    4. I downloaded a free kindle book all about herbs.:o
5.Feeling more positive about job hunting, no good reason but just feeling up beat, I think because I have been talking about it to a friendly work colleague also helped it’s good to share.
    6. I always reach thurs evening - I get in and I can literally feel my body un tense, looking forward to a soak in a bit, but first – curry making.

    Evening everyone :hello:

Feeling a whole lot brighter today. I think an early night helped me out - and the knowledge that half term starts tomorrow!!! ;) I was also told that parents had been talking about me to other parents... basically, they think I'm brilliant & their children LOVE being in my class, as well as me being honest with how the children are progressing and what they are able to do to support. :j :j That made me feel REALLY good!

So, other than that, I have pleasures:

    1) Learned I'm getting a small pay rise! :j :j That's one pay rise more than DH is getting. I intend to put the extra amount into our household savings.

    2) Another small amount payable from TopCashback! :j

    3) Chicken stir fry for supper! Yum.

    4) Sorted my mum out with Facebook. She's only been on "the Facebook" for a week, to keep in touch with a friend who has emigrated to New Zealand. Needless to say, she posted a comment on a friend's wall as opposed to a private message. Thanks to DH having set up "Teamviewer" on our desktops, I was able to walk her through her error and how to rectify it! Phew!

    5) Managed to sort out the boot of my car. Not overly great as I seem to have lost my driving licence. Goodness knows where it is as it normally goes into our "special documents" folder which I have strict control over. I just can't understand it. :( Still on the look out....

    Peased you're feeling better Vicky
DD enjoy your break, hostelling is a bit different to your business stays, and maybe more fun :)
PK good that you have DH's support, it will be fine and it doesn't sound like you'll starve, after all your hoarding ;)
villagelife congrats on the 18 meals, must be a record! Most I've ever managed is 13 - must try harder!
mhags hoping your feet soon feel better
Tealady that soup sounds delicious, must see if I can find a recipe for it
VJsmum pleased you're feeling better too. Much as I wish we could bypass the next few months, aren't the Autumn colours amazing?
Caterina so pleased you got good news from DD. The kitchen must be looking super, it's well worth the wait.

    1. A lovely sleep in, got up an 8.45am. I do like retirement :)
    2. Proper hm porridge with cinnamon and dried fruit, no need for sugar
    3. Phoned DB to wish him a happy birthday, got to speak to DSis-i-L, younger niece, two great nieces. Pleased the family was there to celebrate with him even if he did say the lo's were eating all his birthday cake :D
    4. After listening to a disgruntled debt collector on the phone I eventually convinced him (I hope) that the person whose mail I keep getting and returning doesn't live here. I must have returned the letters at least 30 times over the past 5 years, so thought I'd open one to find a number and contact name. I'm glad it's not for me, the bill is for several k's! He's assured me I shan't get any more letters. We will see...
    5. Bought what I hope will be the last tin of paint for the bedroom, decided on a deep olive to contrast with the white (and got 150 extra nectar points). Dear friend is coming over on Saturday to help paint the wall, and all the horrid brown sapele doors upstairs white. I'll make her a lovely lunch, she deserves it

    Sweet dreams :)

I will sit at this while conditioner does its work on marge simpson hair pile-up.

    1. Then, a-banking I will go[modestly]. Let myself count when I gained &bed @0140h and again thank M for my Spits place. Long 23hr day didn't seem so.

    2. Lovely txns with all sorts of peeps hier. I know this must always be the case, but even so. Had to write up bumf about 4 objêts that are heading off-shore.

    3. Also, D was back and soon showed me his likely house in France, near St Lô....yes, yes, yes. A comment from D and I said 'Attends!' and quickly found p.8 of current book, which he read and said 'YES! That's exactly it!':

    4. A., Mum of 3, [Westcott student under wing of this benefice]stepped in at last mo. and gave a wonderful, testing, questing sermon last Sunday. I was really glad to see that all sorts of 'we know what we're used to/what we likes' all felt the same and made a point of staying to say so and discuss more. There was quite a wait! :-)

    5. Many other small pleasures have been and gone - another ripe h-g strawberry eaten 15 Oct among them, but right now, with drippy hair telling me 'RINSEY TIME! Cut along sharpish' I know I am grateful again to Martin for this site, for finding this Thread and for the unconscious habit now of noting of moments in the day for it. It may sound turgid and saccharine, but there it is. We are very lucky, regardless of the set of our very varied lives.

    6. em reply from Fitzwilliam, after Tuesday spent there. Must be patient ancient, as Dr L not back until 12/11...might see if anyone else has running knowledge of old Farsi for the wonderful thing found Sat and the v.v.v.old[prob. Satsuma]tile.

    7. Just surprised by Sir Roy String on DID.

His love for Julia Trevelyan is[still] enriching, moving, evident but not morbid. Quite a fizzing prog.

We all knew our kk was the brilliant teacher that Vicky also epitomises[with extra CAKE] - lovely reading.
Vicky - I can look online, use Good Old Faves, but I'd like to have your idea for congregation cake to make last w/e Oct for Vicar's 2yrs with us. I'll do it in an adjustable rect. block tin[2 brought back from NZ - don't seem to find them here, v.v. useful]. Ideas?

How goes the bathroom of Frith? Exciting!

Hello , Friday bedtime here and I'm so ready for sleeping!

Early start.....so much for leaving work early, that didn't happen! 1.5 hours after I'd hoped but still early. New cook on ...hmmmm, jury's out at the moment. Another staff member going ( honest guv' , it's not me!) so more shifts to cover, really felt ' over it' today.

Sat in garden for a bit when I got home...chatted with DS and his GF....they're not the chattiest of people! Watered all the veggies/ seedlings and they loaded my car with table and chairs.

Picked posies of flowers from the beautiful spring flowers in my garden to take over to boss's house ....with a selection of pretty jamjars as vases. She is having a party for her DD. Took over our garden tables and chairs and helped her get ready.

Home for a little while and then back out again. Then caught up with my husband over dinner at our local Thai food restaurant.

Posted some Halloween things to my friends daughter...(she's my 7 year old pen pal!) was a bit sneaky and put their Christmas card and friends' mums one too in same envelope ....one stamp used.

And that's been my day.....4 hours of work tomorrow and then one whole day off! Whoop whoop! Going to birthday party tomorrow late afternoon and evening which should be fun...at least we will be fed and I won't be cooking!

I'm almost nodding off so it's a very good night from me :)

    All Codswallop today!

Cat curls, stones lost. See, told you Sparra. Stitch in time, Library books, Trendy ice cream, that will be nuts and sauciness sundaes! :heartpuls to the lurgy’d. Oi, PKJ, you can put that chart of chuff up your ....al coat! Broomstick, no ]no no no. Argh trash … Candles. Soup draggggon. Baths of soak.

5 Message reads: Just eared a message on the wireless system, about hedges and braking before corners. What a Codpiece, non-Icelandic at that. Now when BoP learned and earned to drive, was told to watch the road 3 seconds ahead. If it was clear, keep foot on gas. If not, foot off. Simple rule! Try it. That is if you see the road ahead of you clear 3 seconds in front, keep your foot , but if a bend, and you cannot see the exit, foot off. Now on that, last eve at the Club of Camera, someone bought in some pictures of Iceland. Good job I was not even judging! Message Ends

4 Message reads: BoPsie has been a little foolish and has deliberately lost her engagement ring. Last night her side of the bed was taken over by Raffles, and my breakfast was not ready this morning. Now I am not at the Salt Mine this day and as the Yellow thing is out, but a tad low in the sky, do you think I should give her some money to buy some paraffin for the heater in the shed. The high class, BoP is a dude yous know, engagement ring is still missing. Let me know if I should also plaice this in the failed relationships thread! Ratners were wonderful in them days, dears! Message Ends.

3 Message Reads: Salt Mine meeting this morning, we has to decide how we are going to use the cellar and give it a shake. Could be interesting. Now you understand that BoP, at the Salt Mine, Winding House, is a real Mover and Shaker. Salt mine was contacted using two cans and a piece of magic string. Putah connect scenelessly via magnetic sublimation. Message Ends.

2 Message Reads. T’other nights tea was out at the Bridge. Delicious ales, warmed with a carvery. Well filled was BoP. Now, as is traditional, on Thursday in the winding house of the Salt Mine and Chemical works, I had cubed chicken like substance in tomato soup like sauce. Cooking not as god as BoP’s! Hey, but it filled BoP’s Boots! Message Ends

1 I came onto this earth to enjoy life, so stop moping and get on with it

Oh, and as Marbles and the nearly weds are in the news, Thought I would mention Raffles and his part in their marital problems. Raffles has lost all his marbles and now purrfurs chasing the laser pointer. So if one of the ©Loonies is reading, she can have Raffles marbles, as he does no need them anypaw.

Today, as the house fills with the fumes of Xmas, the BoP’s Christmas cake, hand rubbed and no brandy (HMS Sheffield), shall be brewed and cooked. Flaked almonds will atop it and cherrys, sliced and other fruits have been soaked in Black Grouse extract for a few days, unprotected on the side. The Pud will be mixed and churned later, and shelved for brewing. Ooops, bit too much whisky in the ¼ pt of liquid! Right pudding, your next!
    33jsge8.jpg

BoPsie is just back from the Esso Blue pump, with piece offerings for BoP. Mini rolls. Delicious, especially with juice, freshly squeezed from the bottle.
  • 1. I am pretty up to date work wise just odds and sods thankfully, so the pleasure I’ve spent time looking into another professional qualification, I’ve found the self-study book but trying to find out if I can get it via a library? I can do the exam at home but it will cost £220 to take it but I do like the idea of achieving something...

2.Deep cleaned the bathroom, hovered the bedroom, tidied up a little (a lot), washed the animal bedding, it was more work than it reads lol, it felt good to have achieved but knackered.:o
3.Planted out the pond plants and other plants we picked up last weekend. They have been standing in the rain on the garden table.
4.DH spent the day working on his car, and very happy he is too, fitting his birthday present to it, it arrived the other day and he has been itching for the weather to fit it..:)
    5. I know it’s a bit soggy out there but I can’t see it getting better now so got the lawnmower out and did the last run over with it.:D
    6. Got a pork joint out to defrost slowly will cook up a roast at some point over the weekend.
    7. Phoned about a couple of jobs, applied for a couple more and registered on a few sites.
    8. A cheeky half hour with a choccy biscuit, cup of tea and the animals going loopy bringing most of the outside in with them, ah well just as well I’m not house proud, aahhhh maybe that’s why no one visits!!!:rotfl:
    9. I’ve just won a little competition from the people who we buy the ferret food off, it’s for a cuddly toy ferret so nice and apt and it feels lovely to have won something.:T
