5 OS Pleasures in your Day Today part 2

Have been a miserable b*gger the last few weeks so time to count my blessings.
1. [STRIKE]It rained all day yesterday. This is bad. [/STRIKE]The rain meant my newly planted pansies didn't need watering
.
2. I am working from home today so can drink tea from my favourite mug all day.
3. I have ordered a strap to fix my favourite bra :rotfl:.
4. I had a sewing machine beginning with Hleft in a house I own. Tonight is the night to get sewing machine out of case and decide:
- does it work
- can I work it
- can I fix said bra without sewing my finger to it (which would probably make it hard to wear
5. I was organised at the weekend and meal planned and shopped so no need to worry about dinner :T. (On the other hand it's stir fried tofu _pale_)A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0

Well I am dead chuffed and a bit ashamed not to have been sooner, but yesterday (after living here for only all of seventeen years) I joined to library!
I did become a member, way back in 2002,but have never been,so it was practically like joining for the first time.
That is a massive 'Pleasure' -1 to 5,I think.
I've taken out four books and three dvds.
6 They also have lots of different magazines.I have two subscriptions that I will not renew next year, because I can read them at the library.
7 Had a swim, felt a bit winded, but thirty lengths is better than nothing.
8 Walked loads.
9 Planted some pansies.0 -
Gallygirl - youtube is your friend:D. Love the fave mug thing - I can so relate
Sparrer - I have a cupboard of doom too. I must get cracking on it
DD - random bank holiday?
Frith - good luck with the builders
McC - savoury crumble sounds nice
Got attacked by a nasty stomach bug yesterday. Goodness it has been rough. Lost 3lb in one day:eek: still a little delicate
I guess the only real pleasure was being able to catch up on lots of TV - X factor, downtown, cilla
Warm bath
Bed by 8.30 and slept through till 6.30
I shall take it easy today.I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
1. Survived my first day back after the lurgy, they were noisy and irritating/fun in equal measure
2. They also lurved the supply teacher, so I had to tell myself that I wasn't jealous and unloved....especially not as one of my children had just celebrated a birthday and brought me in a box of chocolates!! Nomnom....well, they're still unopened, but won't be for long.
3. Am typing from my bed where I'm planning and going through my to do list as it's my PPA day
4. Going to watch DD play netball tonight, yippee!! She has no idea
5. Managed to find a map I can use for teaching next week - bit hard to teach the physical and topographical features of maps if you don't have one to show them. As we're not an iopad school, we need to be learning the real McCoy not using an app!0 -
Right, here’s the deal
!!!!!!!!!!!! Gosh there was a lot of expletives laster day! Blondes have more fun, bras. Easy BoP! Easy Reading. VJs :heartpuls KK :heartpuls Week-Lyns. Get a shot of the Jabber of Flu. & Nope, was not your putah. Bob has had a maker over, the Builder that is DD no ham in that pasta. Oi, watch it DD. Member, no such sing a free lunch. I went back for coffee once and the blighter is still here 27 years later! Got a feeling foot may be kicked under table later!
Ah, the luxury of working away from the Salt Mine. Raffles is well flopped in the middle of the table. No vermin gets pass him! As it is a little damp, there appears to be puddles abound.
5 No here’s the surreal. Seems that some old Salt Mine, where there made the fires to get the quick lime, there appears to be a bit of bovver from the nearly weds. Now, in ancient terms, the Macedonians did build some grate places. Only for in the 3rd century of the fairy era, some readers of the tale took down the temple and built their own monolith. Another fairy story appeared, and down came the previous emporium, used again. Now in later times, the stones were saved from the kiln and taken into safe keeping. Then along comes an upstart nearly wed, the ©Looooonies. Here’s the deal, the Macedonian Greeks can keep the nearly weds, we will keep the marbles. Has the nice pictures of the nearly weds been in the paper yet?
4 Now, here’s the peel. Just checked the fruits for the cake and pudding of xmas. Well brewed now, and the cake, it shall have the butter dated 11 April infested into it. Full of mature richness. Gonna be lots of fun. On the subject of fun lovers, why do some put such restrictions on their life? Seems that some Morris dance has led to another campaign of thou is holier. And an interesting aspect on some news sight, though unwatched since 21:33Z 1982-05-03 (It was a Monday!) on another such campaign. Yet yesterday, here without the parish, some self-imposed writer of good, decided to post some comments, while denying a response. No wander in this day and rage, it provoked a response. Yet I understand the damaging response was caused by a crush to not sort out the issue, forgetting that said scripter had over times, posted spam to their site. Alas not!
Rite rant on this.
3 Now, here’s the deal. BoPsie is sat opposite her beloved BoP, as BoP is not at the ancient chemical works this day. In fact, with any luck, will nots be at said Salt works shortly! Now this means that all day, all I has to do is look up and tease sweetly at BoPsie and her legs will go to jelly and she’ll be gooey eyed. Not difficult if you has the looks that BoP has. But as BoPsie has no account on the parish, you lot just has my word for it!
2 Now here’s the feel. I have the hair. Well, groomed slightly this very mourn. At the Pit Shaft yesterday, it was noted that them with the wider parting, no, as understanding those in the parish are, I have the age where I still pay full price at the barbers, and the coots were celebrating their discounted brush overs and remarking how little they have left not. I exclaimed that I normally ring the hair clinic up offering now a shade of light auburn through to a silvery dark grey! The offer is always theirs, but the upkeep is important. Trims beard and walks on!
1 All propaganda has to be popular and has to accommodate itself to the comprehension of the least intelligent of those whom it seeks to reach.
I have not edited today’s 1. Thought is should remain in its original translation. Once you realise who said it, the better you will understand what it meant. And when you have disgested the said, will the bake dance singalong ever be the same again?
Sits back knowingly that sparra is going to struggle with today’s missives. Ah, tea is served with a delicious snorker, toenail onions in a roll. Nom Nom. Other lunch time snacks are available.
Welcomen to the People Farm!
Edit, after two minutes.
BoPsie has goine gooey eyed!0 -
Good evening everyone :hello:
A busy couple of days again, culminating in tonight's parents' evening. A great group of parents, whom only have great things to say about their children's learning in my class.
My pleasures for today and yesterday:
1) HM spag bol last night for supper. :j :j
2) Trip to Mr T's which culminated in me using £3.50 worth of vouchers!
3) MOT booked for the weekend at a bargain rate. This will come out of my car repairs pot. Seriously smug in the fact that I don't scrabble around for money any more due to budgeting, with the help of this site, which started about 10 years ago. Oh yes, and I've gone through TopCashback and received that too! :j :j
4) The organiser of my local cake club has posted details about last week's meeting. Check out what I like about it all in my quote.... :rotfl:
5) Completed more surveys. So close to being able to cash in my points for a John Lewis voucher.... so, so close.Sealed Pot Challenge #021 #8 975.71 #9 £881.44 #10 £961.13 #11 £782.13 #12 £741.83 #13 £2135.22 #14 £895.53 #15 £1240.40 #16 £1805.87 #17 £1820.01 declared0 -
Good write-up Vicky, but yours definitely looks the best by far!
BoP...u!!m?
1. Went to visit the pups. Got pee'd on, but then they don't wear nappies
2. Went shopping with DD, I had to buy petrol first and was very please with the price war reduction
3. Went into Mr S, only bought milk. Went into the £ shop, only bought seeds for bread. Went into homebase, only bought 2 matchpots,
4. Went to a charity warehouse with two more boxes of bits, they were very grateful. Discovered they have a food bank, having looked for one for over a year suddenly there are two nearby so I can take the necessary in there when I have a few spare pennies.
5. Went back to DD's for lunch. No spending in restaurants today, we're both penny-pinching
Sweet dreams0 -
Gallygirl: That’s my idea of sewing, we have a machine and DH uses it far more than me for precisely the reason I don’t fancy sewing my fingers and I know I would…
1. I am about to hit the “I’ve lost 2 stone” mark, I still have another stone happily 2 stone sadly to go but at the half way mark. I am so chuffed just trying to keep it off as it’s just about 2 stone and I want to keep it moving, re training for food, oven chips are a treat and salad and fruit during the work day. I do have a noticeable a bread weakness though. Finding it a little hard at the moment as getting cravings
2. 8 days to go… I have applied for a fair few roles not that I am panicking or anything and breathe…
3. Just booked us into see the local pantomime on Christmas eve, good for a festive laugh, shockingly I’ve never been to the local theatre.
4. I watched OCD cleaners and promptly mopped the kitchen floor, yeah cause that will make a difference lol…..
5. I’ve kept to the evening food plan so far this week, 3 bean salad for work lunch with 2 bananas as snacks, dinner was Mexican wraps rice and salad so again hopefully not to bad0 -

marmite well done on going to the library, one of the first things i did here was join. We can take up to 30 books/ DVDs / CDs out at a time! I've just finished my second book I took out in Sunday ...have discovered reading on the train....why haven't I done this before?
Pleasures?
Well have been busy working ...just for a change! ..but finished at 1pm today and I was out that door like a shot! ( then got a text to say they had been madly busy....oh well! )
Popped into salvos and bought 2 new to me tops and a dish/ bowl I've had my eye on for a few weeks.
Then went back in with DD1 and her student card to buy a duvet set. Also bought a 'dog' blanket.....from the 'dog blanket ' pile.....this won't be seeing any dog bed! Pure wool blanket, same one I'd bought earlier this year was just $5.00 . Got 20% discount with DDs card. All washed and I will hang it out on line in the morning
Stunning sunrise this morning ...getting up as early has it's benifits.
I'd a new bake house rep in this morning with lots of samples....I've only been eating bread once a week....think I've had next 3 weeks worth of bread products!
Pup! Currently lying at my feet , sleeping ! Previously running round like a daftie! He has discovered that he can now jump up on sofas....and from the sofa you can get on the breakfast bar! The breakfast bar where we've been putting everything previously out of his reach!
Have a good one0
