Firth: Ohhhh steaming windows I hadn’t thought of that.
    1. Paid the bills – all be it just, the gas and leccy bill was for a quarter and quite frankly more than a bit eeeeekkkk.
    2. There’s a month’s wait for the mattress we want – ho hum at least it’s sort of on its way, of course if it’s a month’s wait means we can save and get all new bedding as well.:p
    3. The postie delivered some vouchers through for a few 400g cat food bags.:j
    4. I planted any remaining bulbs and weeded, while DH dug a whacking great hole for a gorgeous tree we thought had died but its sprouting green so we cut it all back and gave it food compost and fingers crossed, watered the garden as the soil was also to dry in places to weed, just in time for Autumn judging by the weather forecast.:)
    5. Easy peasy tomato pasta bake
    6. Needed to do a Mr T run but researched it well before hand to make sure I had a list of deals to remind me, stocked up on some of the half price offers and picked up 2 lots of turkey diced for 20p each, and some soup veggies for 7p,:j and used a couple of coupons, got talking to the lady on the checkout, she’s a nurse for nhs hospital up the road, just done an 8 hour shift and now working 7-11pm at Mr T as the cost of living is too much. It made me feel humble as she was so so happy, I’m not convinced I could manage to be.:) I'm now collecting vouchers for my first ever time for their cookware offer.:o

    7. Going to re water the garden tonight with the animals out it’s far more fun.
    8. I’ve had a couple of calls about jobs but they all sound a bit fluffy and wooley at the moment, no calls about the applications I’ve done thou, ah well something will come up!!!!:o

    Good evening everyone :hello:

Thank goodness it's the weekend. I'm VERY tired. Some children in the school had a Skype session with children in The Gambia, two schools in Spain and a project in New Hampshire, USA as part of the migration of the ospreys from the north to their winter grounds in Senegal! This is the local osprey project: http://www.ospreys.org.uk/ It was led by a chap from our local project, but I was on best behaviour keeping the children in check!

    Pleasures for the day:

    1) Speaking to other schools in countries around the world - for free. My grandmother, who was a teacher, wouldn't recognise this side of education if she were still alive!

    2) HM chilli con carne for supper. Suspect that was the last box in the freezer of that batch.

    3) Vouchers for extra Boots points have arrived with the scary word of "Christmas" emblazoned on them... Surely not.

    4) Birthday flowers ordered for my grandma. She didn't recognise me the last time I saw her a couple of weeks ago, but I hope she enjoys the flowers. The home she lives in are fantastic and I'm sure the other residents will enjoy them too. Managed to have a discount code though...

    5) Cake went down a storm at school. DH finished it off when I brought it home! ;)

    Night all. x

    2) cheapish lunch at local pub with business development manager.
    3) 2 friends' retirement presentation. Very sorry to see them go but was a wonderful send-off followed by
    4) inaugral meeting of junior ganymede committee. Very happy to be asked. Took place in the phoenix where i
    5) then met a couple of dutch pilots and a chap who works at a car showroom. One of the pilots was rather sweet, 53, divorced and told me his hotel number. Oh and showed me a piccie of his cat. I smiled sweetly but it was rather nice to be chatted up all the same :D

DD your mum's supper sounds delicious
VJsmum good to hear your DD sounds happy
mhags what a day, I'm exhausted just reading it! After all that effort you deserve to get the equivalent of our FA. Pleased your lunch with the boss went better than you thought, and she paid - bonus ;)
& the car has a display which tell me how many mpg I'm getting, it's taught me to take my foot off the accelerator! Was sorry to hear the news re both A and S.
Frith good news about the accordion bag, and the meeting with smaller son'e autism teacher. Had a little smile about 'Aunty A' :)
Pleased the bump was no more than that BoP. My Gramma used to make yummy oatcake, as only Gramma's can
marmite good to hear the scan was reassuring. Good for you swimming and walking, very active :)
PK hope the tree survives. Well done on the spring bulb planting, still got mine to do as I got side tracked by the new cats :o
VickyA what an exciting experience for the children, and you! As you say, things are very different today, i remember the most exciting thing at school was having a French penfriend :D
Woohoo DD, a proposition! It's an old ploy, show a lady a picture of your pet and she'll fall for it ;). But I'm sure you didn't...

    1. Up at 7.30am as i had a long list of things to do, and actually got them all done by lunchtime
    2. Left the garden door open while I was gardening, both cats went out gingerly and eventually enjoyed exploring the garden. Frankie sat on the wall overlooking next door, I took him off twice but the third time next door's pit-bull types were out and there was a terrible uproar! Luckily Frankie was okay and spent the next few hours recovering at the top of the stairs. I don't think he'll try that again
    3. Made an appointment with the vet to take F&F for a check-up, the receptionist said 'I knew it wouldn't be long before you had more cats'. She knows me so well :o
    4. Swept the leaves again, what a tedious job. I've done it twice this week and they're still falling but I uncovered another bowl of cobnuts so it was worthwhile
    5. Cleared a few bit out of the wardrobes, have a full bag now which I'll drop off at the charity shop on Sunday.

    Sweet dreams :)
  • Sparra, put log on fire there lass!

Scans done here goes :heartpuls :heartpuls :heartpuls :heartpuls :heartpuls :heartpuls Bill told what to do. LuvLee. Free lunch, for mogs! Aye, weekend is here. Birds flying south. Easy with the SSIUs DD (Seat Stick Interface Units!!!) Especially ones wanting nice pictures of cats. That's more lick it Sparra! Early riser Aye Sparra, house of BoP went without cat last year, for about 3 weaks! Monty was laid down and Raffles took over! & and Friths. I take that the Drummer is on Holiday then!

    Come on Gals!

Its five to one, getting late.

Now has bin about two years since an old buffer, Arthur was laid to rest. Now I say Old Buffer, because he took pictures of trains around the home of BoP and its county. In later years he used a small video camera and then took picture from the ogle box. Images were stunning really. So this is not about him, but his mate. Well, this is about Simon. Cracking on a bit is he. His wife over the last two or three years is not too well, so he spends most of his time looking after her. His time out obviously is limited, but every so often you see him and when you do it brings heartiness into your life.

Well Thirstday nite, as you all nose, BoP is at the club de camera! And in came Simon. Same time every season. Pays his dues, as he has done since before BoP was born. We go on with that nights programme and nobody notices that. You see, Simon will not leave his wives side nowadays, but hopes that next week he will be able to stay the whole hog.

    Same time next year!

    Pleasures for yesterday:

    1) Bigger son missed the bus which was a pleasure in that it meant I got to town for 8.30 and had a sausage and tomato sandwich!

    2) Did little jobs like paying bigger son's birthday money into his savings account.

    3) Went to Halfords where a particularly young and handsome man mended bigger son's bike.

    4) Went to Sainsburys to kill time while bike was being mended and bought the first stocking filler!

    5) Friend did not get her dream job and I didn't even get an interview for the one I applied for! So had a chat with her.

    6) Bigger son went off for an evening of roleplaying with 2 uncles. It's Pathfinder, I've been told, not D and D.

    7) Smaller son and I had one of his favourite teas as bigger son was away - HM chicken nuggets, hash browns and beans plus peppers and tomatoes from the allotment (only 30 tomatoes in the kitchen to use up!) Profiteroles for pudding.

    8) Enjoyed Gogglebox.

It's definitely cardi and long sox weather this morning. Shut the pets in, moved the pots and troughs, got the mower out, turned it on, got hit by big splotches of rain so put it way before the grass and I went up in flames. Pah!!!

My previous cat thought that was one of the highest forms of entertainment - sitting on the wall overlooking next door's garden and watching the dog work itself into a frenzy! :rotfl:

    Pleasures for yesterday:

    1) Problems with my work PC all day - not a pleasure in itself, but meant the chance to chat to the lovely M on the help desk. :)

    2) Friday, so finished work early.

    3) Got Isis a new catnip toy, which went down very well.

    4) A$da takeaway counter pizza for dinner.

    5) And stocked up on lunch-type things while I was there, as I want to start taking lunch into work again.
Back after a very long break!

That's what I forgot to do!!! There are muddy paw prints every where but they seem to be enjoying the rain and long grass:rotfl: ah well I didn't need a clean house apparently:p Thunder is rolling away in the background.
  • Ah, that new thermostat so brilliantly put up by BoP day of yester, is in optimisation mode. That means no cold tootsies in house of BoP this winter.
