HAY. PROPEL. yes it is live Scrabble. Thirst two words ate down by BoP. BoPsie s struggling alreading. Infant, one off being on her knees. PREY. BoP leads 38 to 10.

Stop Press. BoPsie second word is oofed.

GAP opening up now. BoP is on 50. BoPsie is still on 10. BoPsie finds ROOM, BoP is in a right JAM, and JET. BoP leads 72 27. Oh boo gar. I am in orbit. LENT gets 6 for BoPsie. BoP lays the EX OX. BoPsie goes NEXT. BoP on 122 to 50. Wobbleades sorted.

LINES are sorted and it PROPELS BoP to 151. Lord Tondeur speaks from Parc Blundell. BoPsie Amy's a GIFT, only for BoPsie to get a SLAB on it. BoP leads 196 to 59. The spare room is like a beacon. GOUT gives BoPsie a stiff leg, BoP is HUNG. BoPsie DREW, but BoP has a BUG. Now a VIEW sees BoPsie on 97, BoP on 228.

Like school this. BoP gets CANED, for BoPsie is ACE. BoP gets MACE, and MUD. BoPsie ins with DIAL. BoP plays LOVED, BoPsie returns with YOB. BoP plays RAY. BoP on 307. Leads now by 212. Unfortunate that the Dictionary of BoPsie does not have words in the Official Scrabble Words list. BoP removes her words. BoP lays HI, ZIP. BoPsie TRAY, TORN, but attempts to cheat with the scoring. Minded her she had her last try oofed. BoP plays HIKE. BoPsie on 131. Trails by 225. BoPsie plays OVER, it soon will be. VIA another CAT. No tiles left. BoP has q and blank.

Right on q, BoP takes a HIKE and SQuAW. BoPsie lays FUED, DOVER. IN, BoP just one tile left. BoPsie has a blank.

BoPsie plas CATS and SIn. BOpsie tiles out, but in this game it is all about points. BoP finishes on 389, to 204. BoPsie remains one win away from the chance of two on the pounce.

    Happy birthday DigforVictory

Sad day at school as I said farewell to a wonderful family. They're moving to the south coast and I've known them for two years, having taught one of the children for the whole of that time. One child in my class, knowing what I'm like, ensured I had six tissues for the farewell, "3 for each arm Mrs VickyA" was his message as he passed them to me! :rotfl:

    However, I do have pleasures:

    1) The delight of having had that family as part of my life for the last two years. All children families are equally as special, but it's sad when we/they move on.

    2) NSD

    3) Pie for supper from the freezer. It was delicious.

    4) Batch of HM carrot soup currently cooling in a pan. Carrots had so many food miles... all the way from the garden, a mere 10 steps away from the back door.

    5) Likewise, a batch of HM tomato soup is bubbling away. Tomatoes are from the back garden too! In fact, the ingredients in the soup are 100% British even if they're not from the garden. Both soup batches will be finding their way to the freezer, once they're all cooled.

Need to do one thing for school, watch this soup and then go to bed. I'm exhausted!

    Night all x

    Pm to bop coyh
    1) yummy ham omlette for breakfast. Dd2 had left half a packet in the fridge which will do 3 brekkies. Left overs always taste good
    2) one of my students brought a coffee machine in and made me an espresso. Once he'd gone i added a lot of hot water and milk. But very sweet of him
    3) friend got her phd thesis submitted. She's had a tuff few years and really pleased for her.
    4) colleague's leaving coffee and cake. Someone brought grapes in and since they were sat in the kitchen when everyone else had gone i polished them off :P
    5) dd1 back home from catsitting and is now seriously job hunting. She's also applying for a phd place for sept so secretly hoping she finds a short term job in fundee. Ok so not so secret :-)

Oooh another afternoon spent at home...I could get used to this....if only! I've the diary home with me and have the roster to do and looks like there won't be too many free afternoons! Anyway ....

Pup slept in his crate for 4 hours between OH coming to bed and me getting up early....no howling heard!

Work was fine, all 6 tiny hours of it! One of my old customers came in and we sat and had a blether. She's Scottish too, so was nice just being able to chat and not have to repeat yourself or explain what something means!

Home on the train, I've worked out the times now so I don't have 17 minute waits! Phoned DD1 to meet me and have some lunch at local cafe.
Via the hardware store for some carrot seeds and more sweet peas....I want sweet peas for Christmas time! We enjoyed our lunch, I had my usual pumpkin and feta tart with salad, it's delicious.

Then we went to Salvos, I'd popped in yesterday ( just as heavy rain was starting) as I saw they had a roll top desk for sale. DD1 has been after one for a while. She was out and about but they kindly put it on hold until 10am this morning so she could see if she liked it ....and as it was Wednesday , she got 20% student discount!! That's my girl! I've bought it for her as an early birthday gift.

Kindly Salvos man helped us bring it home, we live very near and I would have struggled to get it in my little car.

Out in the garden with pupster, he 'helped' me plant the carrot seeds! Whilst adorable he is such a rascal! kittikins I've plenty photos on Facebook if you want to PM me.

I'm going out in front garden now to do a bit of much needed weeding and fill garden waste bin for going out tomorrow .

    DFV happy birthday to you.

    Morning

    Pleasures for yesterday,
    1. Being able to help out my friend with horrible parking fees. I work with some really helpful people who were making space for her car before I had even finished calling them.
    2. Toasted crumpets with butter for breakfast washed down with a cup of tea when I got to work.
    3. Lunch time needed a break from the office so took myself off to the John Lewis cafe for a pot of tea and a cream scone and what made it even better was it was free. Discovered another cafe in JL that I didn't know was there so got to enjoy my freebie at a table overlooking the river.
    4. Lots of lovely wildlife seen on journey to work. Rabbits in the grounds of the water works, deer in bushy park - they were really close to the fence that borders the road this morning plus some noisy parakeets while waiting for the bus.
    5. Remembering to put a beef casserole in the slow cooker before work. I had forgotten I had put it on so a lovely surprise when I got in and realized I didn't need to cook dinner just put some potatoes in the oven and made some yorkshire puddings, yum.
    6. Also got a load of bedding dried outside

hugs to all who need them

Tears, leavings, setbacks all offset by smiles, hugs, paws, new classes and OS pleasures right here.

Frith - is that 14er racing past you in height? shoe size? Don't forget the real reason pour votre trajet à Paris is someone's jacket retrieval[needs it for smart new job i/v lundi] and you haven't booked same hotel for. Wise son re:biological father. They DO see clearly, some more eventually than others, and yours have done so early in the piece. Hope French can be persuaded back.

    1. Amazingly beautiful day hier. Grass growing back madly the moment blade has done chopping.

    2. Grateful for immediate optician appt. Recent lunettes only few wks old, and re-done then, so felt shy of bothering them again. As 2nd little pad had fallen off, visit necessary anyway. Mentioned the 'not right' sth. So glad I did. Some sense of lurch or shift was correct, = sudden muscular imbalance, reason n/k, and 'a bit of prism'. All can be stabilised. And 'No, you have NOT wasted our time. You must ALWAYS come straight in, or ring, if you sense anything, any change at all.'
Have also felt extreme fatigue, somehow related. This, too, is a known effect. Anyway, new ones next week. I am so, so, so, grateful to these good people. Have always been so since they did instant hospital/Dr tel. when I rtn'd<France several years ago, adjudging prob.suitable for immediate laser treatment, which continues/maintains tiny incremental central vision improvements.

    3. Left-over from Sunday. Yellow Tiger Moth loop-the-loop+smoke trails low over &roof, part of Open Day prelude to little local RAF Museum being set up. Local chap has bought the site and donated it. Good stuff.

    4. Tuesdays should be small antiquey collectables days in a town hall near by. Nothing there? Now near Emporium, & was told. Wandered in. Parking is impossible anywhere nearer than Emporium and site not obvious.
Sad, limp affair: 3 peeps, but there was a couple I'd last seen several years ago. Then, we'd instantly recognised each other from somewhere, London-ish we'd thought - and I ended up buying some fabulous knock-out dangling sputnik-y silver earrings, almost offensive weapon size and style, yet superb. He remembered. I love them still - keepers absolute:-) We talked. Tough times. New site useless. Trade dying the death etc.etc. Always comforting to share chat with the trade, esp. as & should already be down at storage, sorting for Spits. After this.

    5. Just spent rest of lazy yest. up on the gallops, with free 'cino+saved ending of Robert Galbraith[JK Rowling] 'The Cuckoo's Calling'[damned good read]and sun on face and good walks and watching some late training[4 horses], which I've never seen at this time of day before. Read next new Lib. book until too dark to see, which is now tumti-tumti-tumti-tum time.

    6. Final stop was 49pts wombled@Mr T, plus abandoned 38p Off Next Shop tillspit, which covered rtcs: samphire[& loves] 10p, 3 redleaf growing lettuce 12p[last ones growing strongly in individual pots], iceberg 4p, big 8" terra cotta pot of wilty parsley 10p[looking good in rainwater this morning], spring onions 2p- exactly 38p:-), then Spits petrol and 2p per litre off. A bit of not 'fearful symmetry' felt good.

    7. em invitation to join others who contributed to replacing/re-casting of stolen statues of Dr Salter's family down on the Thames near Bermondsey, which I wrote about seeing on a post-Spits walk earlier this year. Printed invitation for end Nov. follows a 'Yes please'.

    8. Total surprise in post, only just opened - £140 towards electricity from gumment!!! in addition to Winter Heating allowance which is due later. I AM grateful, as recent car/shipping expenses have been so heavy.

    9. Call from UK shipping agent - all meshing for Redditch, Fri. V. friendly.

    10. Just now, out back - Gosh! baby grey squirrel peeping round rainbutt no.1, then scampering up to birdie peanuts, BUT...NOT squirrel. Chipmunk!!! had to be.
Handsome stripes down back, just like this:
    https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=chipmunk+pics&rlz=1C1GGIT_enGB308GB353&espv=2&biw=1024&bih=677&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ei=yM0rVI2nD-vg7QbHlYBA&ved=0CCAQsAQ#facrc=_&imgdii=_&imgrc=gY4H6DidflXBrM%253A%3BBBSw57pnJhAphM%3Bhttp%253A%252F%252Fwww.hoofarm.com%252Fwww%252Fimages%252Fchipmunk1216.jpg%3Bhttp%253A%252F%252Fwww.hoofarm.com%252Fchipmunks.asp%3B700%3B560
    .
& went to bag, bent down for camera, up again, but he was gone. He'll certainly be back. I'm sure. Fat cheeks, multi-nut bulges:-)
Had better ask neighbour if he's acquired and lost...

Good days, Indian summer beneficence, long may it last and add extras to all recent birthdays and recoveries. Thought of you dfv, when seeing mother and daughter clearly fresh from anglo-saxon re-enactment somewhere at w/e.

Just popped in to have a quick read and your post reminded me of a discovery I made while I disappeared over the summer. https://www.coffitivity.com/
It gives you the sounds of a coffee shop for free (well, that's if you don't want to pay for the additional 'coffee shops from around the world' soundtracks which I don't:eek:). It sounds really barmy but I love it for those times in the day when I'm working on my own at home and it feels too quiet but I need to concentrate and don't want words or music! It's also another very mse way to pretend to have a cuppa out when alternatives are not possible or affordable and you're feeling silly!:rotfl:

I'll do a proper post later...
    B x

PS. I suppose I should now look for a webcam of a lovely river somewhere to look out on. I favour something by the canal boats at Stratford upon Avon this morning. :rotfl:

1-5 I’m out of hospital after 8 days in whoop whoop, Sadly work was not understanding, I suppose in fairness to them I am trying to do a handover but from my point of view errrr I was literally in hospital unable to move. While I appreciate what’s left of the hand over income and it is needed so I will persevere for 2 more weeks, I really want this job over with now, as now I am trying to hide bad grace at their attitude and I’m not very good at hiding feelings.
    6. Able to make myself tea and a brekkie.
