  • Have been out for the evening and don't feel sleepy which makes a change for me, so here are some pleasures

    1. lovely sunshine again today, so did some weeding and sweeping in the back garden

However, could not do the strimming around the lawn as I have managed to lose the shed keys after getting out creosote tother day. Have tried retracing my steps, looking in nooks and crannies and pockets etc to no avail. Knowing me I have gone and padlocked them inside :o Will wait a few days before resorting to cutting the lock off...

    2. trip to the tip with 3 sacks of weeds and help from the lovely chaps to unload my car

    3. afternoon nap :p

    4. lovely evening out with the girls. Meal was not MSE but good food and lots of laughter.... very medicinal :D

    5. have put a throw over my bed and am now warm and snuggley... its getting colder in the evenings here

Have done most of my outdoors jobs from my list. Just need to wash back windows/patio doors and I will strim if I can find the blinking shed keys ! Not back at work until Tuesday :j

    Morning

Enjoying a peaceful 5 minutes at my desk after a rather hectic week.
I heard some horrible news this week in that someone I worked with some years ago committed suicide last year, I am truly devastated by the news. His mum commented that one of the problems was that he didn't realize how much people loved him. I will be making a donation to Samaritans in his memory and saying a little prayer for him that he has found peace.

    Anyway some pleasures -
    1. Big hug off DD when she saw how upset I was
    2. Getting through a week of external audit fairly unscathed just a few minor points.
    3. Lovely pics on the book of face of my great nephew with his grandad and great grandma. He is growing so much really need to get a visit to see him again soon.
    4. Very helpful message off CCP regarding things to do in the IOW, thank you. People on this thread really are the best.
    5. Remembering to take breakfast with me on the train yesterday so my tummy wasn't rumbling through the morning

Hugs to all who need them

I'm sorry to hear about your former colleague, Tealady.

Here are my pleasures for yesterday:

    1) Not a bad sleep.

    2) Went to the allotment to water in the greenhouse and took home onions, tomatoes and courgettes. One courgette plant seems to be having a second wind and keeps growing!

    3) Sainsburys.

    4) Got bigger son's bike for his birthday. :-) We get our bikes from a charity where people with learning disabilities do the renovating.

    5) Brother came round to babysit sons and made bigger son do some homework. I think I'm going to have to ask school to make him stop in at lunchtimes to do it for a while. He was rude to brother and cycled off!! before coming back and doing the bare minimum...

    6) Went to smaller son's settling in parent evening. He got Bs for effort in everything and an A for French!

    7) Made chilli and wraps for tea.

    8) Enjoyed watching Who Do You Think You Are?

Jenny sends :heartpuls VJ, Naughty Step you know why! DD. Rats had a song for that. Sparra. Jabbed. Got mine on Mundae. Good old &, she's getting the lingo nows.

5 The answer is YES. Boo gar me, that was the quickest telephone interview ever. Hello, I am. Who did you work for when you were last here. Oh boo gar, he still here, and matey other now has lead. Ooh Best I send cv over then. Biscuits, come on did they dunk. Now BoPsie was cort yesterday dunking hers.

4 No PORAGE this morning as it was last of the fabricated weasel style cereals this morning, with lots of sunshine and clout. Tomorrow is guess what?

3 Listening to cup of rider on wireless thing. No looking good I am afraid, but loads to play for.

2 nites we is out to quiz again, BoPsie getting glad raghs on at the momento. Should be a hoot. We were last at the event a time ago.

1 Lots of people want to ride with you in the limo, but what you want is someone who will take the bus with you when the limo breaks down.

Gore those blimes bop - &'s understood a bit of wot bop rote, viz - nodding agreement with your no.3. Quite a lot of 'dearie me's at men hitting round balls, erringly, with sticks.

    1. Well, spits not great, but all peeps felt same hier, very flat. Nonetheless, modest banking will happen.

    2. It WAS good to be back and welcomed. It just astounds me, always, wotever situ's. Many peeps[some real surprises] were just so, so lovely. Changes noted. THE early morning place of heart-starters closed last week. Redevelopers, lease, heart of London etc.etc....same old, nasty old story.

    3. Are we really at end of week? &'s been on tenterhooks for some time, another reason. Phone call just came. Phone actually DID ring this time. Was out, but heard ding once. Alert to this rare sighting, just grabbed it in time to learn that HOORAY, HMRC are waiving 4-fig £duty on &'s 6 boxes. Poor sods were faced with one of &'s cracking epistles, after shipping agent failures to secure...included Jenny Joseph's 'Warning'. Shipping agent contact is lovely young man, back to NZ, last day today. He was kind enough to say this has made his day. IT'S MADE MINE:-)! So, must plan way to Redditch next Fri. Had planned Abingdon uplift[correspondence addy], post-spits, so it'll be a haul on other direction, after 22-hr day. On verra.

    4. Spits now owned by Americans. Some schadenfreude tattle-taling about 'Told them that won't work here' changes, now being kicked into touch. Stand fees are up though, tough and tougher.

    5. Like Frith's courgettes, &'s strawbs are breeding and blushing again. Wonder if birds have left them for moi. Will go and see later when rasps gathered in - need an hour which is unavailable now.

vjm - SAC=speed awareness course [#28656/7]. Hope you had this option.

Lee Westwood just did good thing.

    Emporium calls, Bank adjacent-ish ditto.

Tealady - so sorry to hear about your former colleague. :( My pleasure re IOW - hope you have a lovely time.

    1) Another nice long lie-in this morning.

    2) Toasted cheese and ham sarnie for lunch.

    3) Made myself do some practical stuff - car tax, posting an advert for something I want to sell on a FB group - so I didn't feel quite so lazy for deciding not to go out today. :o

    4) Isis has discovered the old fleece blanket I keep on the back of the sofa for cold evenings: I'm glad it's not that cold tonight as it doesn't look like I'm getting it back any time soon!

    5) A lazy end to a lazy day, with a takeaway pizza (bought with a voucher, of course :money:).
Back after a very long break!
