Evening everyone :hello:
Posting very quickly... Always good to have some pleasures!
1) Was sent a link to the teachers' section of the Change4Life website, but then had another look and there's this recipe section. Hope it's of use to someone. http://www.nhs.uk/Change4Life/Pages/meal-planner-recipe-finder.aspx
2) HM chilli con carne for supper (from freezer! :j )
3) NSD
4) Final payslip from my summer job has arrived! :j :j Makes it all worthwhile.
5) Looking at airbnb.co.uk for a place to stay when we visit France. Anyone got any experiences of booking through this website? I appreciate that it's a real mix of properties and owners, but any tips would be really helpful.Sealed Pot Challenge #021 #8 975.71 #9 £881.44 #10 £961.13 #11 £782.13 #12 £741.83 #13 £2135.22 #14 £895.53 #15 £1240.40 #16 £1805.87 #17 £1820.01 declared0 -
Quick pleasures for today:
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Met my school friend in town for a cup of tea.
3) Roast dinner for tea.
4) Took bigger son to his climbing lesson and he did a level 6 climb (apparently!)
5) Smaller son was more excited about using a Bunsen burner in science than he has been about anything in his life before!
6) Vinyl came for the new bathroom floor.0 -
1. A NSD yesterday.
2. Used up LO veg when roasted them with a chicken breast - one for two of us- and cooked rice pudding.
3. Washing mainly caught up with and dried and ironed.
4.Caught staff bus to work- only able to do on Wednesday and Thurdsays.
5. Took lunch to work.0 -
Dayof the neverendum has struck. The weather is dreich - so foggy cant see fife at all. Posts on fb now are about staying friends after whatever the outcome - a lot of passion has been whipped up and there are concerns things could get nasty. For my part i've been looking at currencies we could revive if we go indie and come out of the pound. I have to say the unicorn sounds rather fun, though not sure what you can get for 18/-
And so for yesterday
1) overslept so didnt have time to make lunch but friend was going out to get something. Quiche and 2 salads for a fiver (3 unicorns 6 bob) not as mse as hm but a very nice treat
2) colleague came in from library to talk to my students about literature searching. Showed us 'box of broadcasts' whick looks a terrifice learning resource. He typed in 'doctor' and of course the first thing up was doctor who. One of the saudis looked puzzled 'who as in who?' 'Who as in world health organisation' i rather naughtily repled. We watched 5 mins of the first episode of this series, educationally of course.
3) got a lift home and girls were cooking supper nom nom
4) dd2 let me try her wkd. Looked more like washing up liquid. Did not drink more after 1st sip!
5) have discovered oodles more QIs on youtube. Of course some of it's QW (quite wrong) but good fun. Eg the union jack can be called jack even when it's not on the jack staff mr fry. Check your history :-)MrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

Nearly bedtime again! Feel all I do lately is work and sleep...maybe that's because all I do is work and sleep!
Busy day yesterday , not so busy today .....after realising main colleague had slept in! Bit mad for me for first hour until she got in, had a new girl trial and she will join our team. I am finding this being a manager business rather challenging! I'm over 6 day weeks! However, that should ease up a bit next week as people who've been on uni placements are finished and can help with shifts again.
Anyway DD2 had a day off school ( poor DD1 had a compulsory exam) so she came in and worked with me this afternoon, meant I could send main colleague off early, as like me , she's doing 6 day weeks.
DD2 has a fabulous work ethic, she just gets on with it!
Home on the train and then we went into next town to opticians ...we'd ordered new lenses a fortnight ago and I hadn't been informed they were in....gave them a call and lo and behold they were in! So we went and got them. We had something to eat at food court and a bit of a mooch around some shops.
Found a shop that was closing down so bought lots of party stuff for DD1's 18th. Everything was half price or loads of stuff for a dollar.
Looking forward to hearing how Scotland votes for their future.0 -
Greetings from the clearing hotline - well, cold line really.
I am not sure what the point of clearing so late is, but who am I to argue?
DD - am with you on the WKD. One bottle makes me instantly depressed, literally. Goodness knows what they put in it, I steer well clear
Frith - LOL at the Bunsen burner
DforV - ditto chattering birds

So a bubble bath a glass of something followed by a loooong lieSIMPLY BE-££577.11:eek:

Thank you Sparrer and DfV for your kind words about DS. He is indeed a lovely shining beacon in my life. Sadly DD is not behaving in the most honest and responsible way and he is terribly upset, possibly more than DH and myself, as she is his twin and they have always been very close.
Anyway, here are my 5 for today:
1. DD is safe out of London for hopefully a long term stay.
2. I am SO glad that the drama and chaos that tend to surround her are out of our lives for a while at least.
3. My elderly friend is feeling ok after her hand operation, I spoke with her tonight and she sounded chirpy and upbeat.
4. Lovely lunch out with DS in the beautiful weather, garden of gastro pub, reached by nice walk through the park.
5. Last day work until week after next. Monday I leave for Scotland for 4 days. In a few hours I shall know if I am going for a trip abroad! Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0 -

1) my first pecha kucha went well. omg though it was stressful! 4 of us abided by the rules, education cheated shamelessly saying they liked to control the clicker. um that's the point of the challenge! d'oh
2) finally got round to lunch at 4 (!) hm prawn pasta salad nommy
3) xoh gave me a lift home. hadn't realised i was still on main campus. i was in a wee bit of a tangle with my html and since the page was live (albeit piloted by the students) felt i needed to get it straight

3. Did some sewing - repaired a couple of items with very small holes in them so they should last alot longer.
4. Washing machine washes well on 15 minute cycle.
5. Went to W8rose - spent £16 and should last the week and had a free coffee and few items were on special offer.0
