Caterina, sorry you had a bad day, hugs ((())). Looking forward to catching up with you next weekend, baby allowing!

    My 5 for yesterday:

    1. Well, the date went well and I think we'll be seeing each other again...as per usual I did have some second thoughts this morning, but overall things were good and I think he's well worth a second go. Assuming he wants to, of course!

    2. A lovely, sunny spring day here in Bristol, absolutely lovely.

    3. Meeting my friend for lunch and having what might be the biggest felafel in the world....so big and filling that I didn't need a main meal in the evening.

    4. NCIS and CSI New York on TV, complete with Penny Puss on my lap.

    5. More work that I'm pleased with on polishing up my story.

    Have a good day, everyone.

Katholicos - sending thoughts and best wishes for you and your family, hope your Uncle is well soon.

Catalina - hope today is a better day for you, and that your DD and DS spoil you rotten :)

Happy Mother's Day to all mummies, grannies, aunties, heck, to all girls :) Let's be all-inclusive!!

    1. Woke up in the middle of the night to find DD lying beside me on my pillow....I don't remember her coming in, and it made me wonder why I have a king sized bed when obviously a single bed would do her just fine, lol :) She told me she came in during the night so that she could wish me happy mother's day as soon as we woke up *melty moment*

    2. Gorgeous cards, one from her, one from my dad pp'ing for her in case she hadn't made me one :)

    3. The sun shone so brightly that we walked up to the restaurant, admiring flowers, saying hello to people we know etc, and had our amazing meal. I had a glass of pink champagne to celebrate being mummy to my beautiful DD and she's taken lots of photos of me. She also was, as always, very well behaved, and loved her food, especially the chocolate creme brulee with vanilla icecream!

    4. DD saying thank you to the restaurant owner for her yummy lunch, completely unprompted.

    5. Also unprompted, DD asked me for some thank you cards this morning so she could write them for all her friends who gave her great presents yesterday.

    6. Did a Reverbe and found a penny on the pavement

    7. Have swept up a million leaves in the back garden, only another few bin's worth to do, gulp.

    8. Lovely neighbours fed DD for me last night and gave me a medicinal glass of vino, the hair of the dog was much appreciated *hic*

    9. Loving coming on this thread and reading about everyone's pleasures, it feels like we're all good friends :)

    10. DD and I had a nice quiet morning doing crafty things, cuddling and chatting.

    11. Had a nice email from my mummy - shame she's too ill to come down to see us this weekend, but hopefully this will mean that we can have another "party" for DD and celebrate mother's day again in a week or so's time when she's feeling better. Nothing like prolonging the fun!

    Afternoon everyone,

    Happy mothers day!

    1) spoke to my mum this afternoon, even though it is not Mothers Day where she lives.

    2) managed to keep it a secret that I am going to visit her and my dad in 2 weeks time!!! They don't seem to have made any plans for Easter which is really good... hope that doesn't change because my mum did say something about wanting to go to the beach but had decided against it.

    3) Starting my washing from my holiday... got two more piles to do.

    4) Getting a bargain at the farmers market - £16 worth of beef for £9! Am now marinading some of the beef shin in white wine (I don't like red) and hoping for the best once I have made it into a casserole

    5) Not having to wear my coat when I went to the market

I am really dreading the next week at work... it is likely to be hellish :( Am definitely getting the Sunday evening feeling... boo...

Right - I had better start tidying up cos the cleaner is coming round tomorrow and my unpacking is everywhere!

    Man plans and God laughs...
Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.

Afternoon all. Hope you've all had a pleasant day - happy mother's day to those it applies to, and happy Sunday to everyone else! :)

katholicos - I'm sorry to hear about your uncle - I hope he recovers quickly.

Kittikins - it sounds like you had a lovely day today. :)

Ladyhawk - I really hope next week's not as bad as you think it's going to be (shame there's no "fingers crossed" smiley here).

    My five for today:

    1) Another fine, sunny day, and warm enough that I could do some gardening without a coat on.

    2) Cleaned up the corner of the garden which the cat uses as a litter tray (an unpleasant job, but nice when it's done), did a bit of light weeding, and planted out last year's bargain geranium (50p in an end-of-summer sale :money:).

    3) Had a nice chat on the phone with my mum.

    4) First F1 grand prix of the season today (it's an odd thing for someone with a keen interest in environmental matters to like, but no-one ever said humans were logical! :o)

    5) Hot roast pork sandwiches for tea.

    Have a nice evening, everyone.

    Ooh, look, I've got my third star! That's pleasure number 6, I think! (That's a bit sad, isn't?! :o)
Back after a very long break!

Savingforoz - Glad to hear the date went well. Lets hope there's another :D
Wssal00 - Thanks for the fat ball recipe. I'll get the boys at work to donate me their yoghurt pots so I can make some
Ladyhawk - Try not to worry about next week....I'm sure everything will be fine
Nuttybabe - Sounds like you had a great day. Just relax and enjoy it :)

    My recent ones:

    1) Getting some more washing out on the line today
    2) YS steak in Mr T's
    3) Getting the garage nice and tidy. Dusted off the bike and pumped up the tyres too :o. Might actually get around to riding at some point :rotfl:
    4) Seeing the enamel roasting tin is still in the shop window - it's destined to be mine :D

I did get the rug out of the garage and give it a clean but it's too far gone to put in the house. I've left it in the garage in front of the tumble dryer I never use :o

Has anyone seen Jexygirl recently. Seems like ages since she's posted :(
