Waving hello from my back porch and I'm sitting on my sofa enjoying the last of today's warmth, a flock of noisy parrots are just flying overhead , my collared doves are purroo purrooing and I can hear my blackbird singing. Quite perfect!

Let me find some more pleasures, have woken last 2 mornings with labyrinthitis , which I hate and I don't have time to lie down to, literally!

Train this morning before 7am , so free!

My lovely colleague popping back into help me close yesterday, we did it in 20 mins between us instead of an hour.

Made a lovey steak pie for tea last night with rtc meat.

Recycling hot water bottle water by giving my lavender plants a drink!

Very busy and productive day ( still no cook) at work , people enjoying my food! Finished at 2pm!

Sitting on my sofa with DD2 after school, chatting and enjoying the sunshine.

Had popped in to op shops on way home and managed to pick up 2 pairs of jeans for DD2 for $1 each. Then a pair of 3/4 jeans for me , half price and 2 tops that will be perfect for warmer weather at work.

Have lost 1kg by cutting out sugar from my diet and had no bread in 2 weeks. Gradually cutting down the carbs, hoping to do a very low carb challenge for myself in September / October, plenty more kilos to come off!

Getting a letter from the UK taxman to say.... There will be NO penalty charge and we shall reimburse you £100 that you were charged and no tax to pay! Thank you!

Receiving $5 gift card from supermarket loyalty scheme....thank you!

DD1 had done the ironing again :)

I have holby to look forward to shortly ....once it's too cold to sit outside!

Thinking of rtc chicken and bacon tagliatelle for dinner tonight.

Have a lovely Wednesday, hugs to poorly people and get better soon :)

    Post just disappeared.
Net and phone flaky/20%ish at best atm, having to use explorer, until new box comes - apparently 2012 replacement is 'ancient, way out of date'. It took hours yesterday to get this far.

Wrote how lovely is the real buzzy-upness in your pleasures mhags. Manageress-ship becomes you! I'm certain your employers are gleeful: they knew what they were doing:-)
I do same with hwb water, even though rain butts are overflowing atm.

    1. Keatsian morning of mists of mellow fruitfulness here AND balmy soft air AND yellow thing.

    2. 'Chq in post' DID come in post. If 2nd one arrives today, a-banking & will go.

    3. Dbl-chkd inspecty man IS on way this a.m. - yes. Also found/added a SayNoTo0870 alternative to that worthy pot. Always remember that's how I found my way to mse.

    4. Reserved Library books waiting - I love this online service.

    5. Many raspberries waiting too - just need &ing to freezer, any moment now.........
    Weigh-in=700g, feels, looks like more.

sparrer, I'd forgotten you were part of the won't-say-6-letters-8-legs things.
Thinking of you as you continue with today's task. I'm glad DB is there and sharing it and memories with you.

Frith - there's just been a jolly little snippet on Today about people who loved/miss typing. There's an app apparently, from sth to do with Tom Hanks:
    https://www.google.com/search?q=typing+sound+app.
Sons of Frith might find some fun.
    Great concertina find!

kk - have just discovered long-/too defrosted dill and h-g beans, now to compost. Annoyed about the beans esp. It's the 'h-g' thing I grr! self for. Hope you're feeling heads-up bright-eyed this a.m.

Sparrer - Dd was stamping around her room at 4 this morning as she thought she had felt something touch her. Needless to say she was dreaming but by that point we were all awake.

I am currently sharing my room with about 10 long-legged 'friends'. We have a rule...if they don't invade my space (i.e. stick to playing on the ceiling), they can stay :)

Think most of my grumpiness was down to tiredness, had a lie-in til 10am!!! (Next week is going to be soooooooo hard :( )
  • I have just returned from the heads.

KK, naughty, only BoP aloud to be Grumpy on this page! TL. BoP’s Book of Rules, Chapter 17, Section 2, part 4.5 sub-section v reads as follows:-

Porage shall be eaten in the dark mornings of Winter.

Now come along dear, put kettle on and log on fire! Or next time you’re in the emporium, look at the packet made by Scotts. Thinks Ibbo moment and soup terrine. No one is singled out, with BoP, you all get some. Frith, now no telling BoPsie, I also went to a concert with a Tina! But that was a long time ago. A long time ago. Gosh, BoPsie middle name has that!

    No rant today. Live On!

5 As I peer out from the winding house at the salt mine, I see clouds of grey and not much else. The hills in the distant are hidden this very moaning. You know what that means. Also, for sun seekers out there, BoP’s next holiday is from 20th Septemberish. So if you are not booked off then, you will be deprived of the Yellow Matter. This message is brought to you in association of a TV weather station. T’other day, darlings, checked out the news on Dickie boy, Brighton Rock and all that. It was raining, but the weather forecaster mentioned something about a yellow warning. Guess what, I know it’s raining, I do not need some idiot to tell me that. What a waste, just because some windy remnant hit London in 1987, we all get it. Main news not watched on TV since 21:33Z 1982-05-03.

It was a Monday for those interested.

4 Tea last night was fresh mackerel kedigree. Made like the smoked haddock kedgeree, only the name and the fish has changed to protect the innocents. Hear is the recipe.

2 Fillets of non Icelandic mackerel, fresh.
Chopped, ruff toe nail style onion, peas, prawns, spinach. Long grain rice. Medium non hen pecked egg, splash of milk. Coriander, turmeric, chilli and parsley. Pepper.

Put pan on with half cup of rice. Do not forget to add water!
Put big fry pan on with a knob of salted butter, as Sparra has found out after I mentioned foamed drinks, that real food comes from a diary, foamed mess comes from a chemical plant!

When you see the haze of blue smoke, splash in the Toe nail style onions. Fry until caramelised. Add mackerel, peas, prawns, dash of lemoned water (prevents burning) and lid the pan! Add termites, coriander, chilli to taste. You can add spinach (think Popeye!) if you want. Pepper to taste, if you musk!
Drain rice in boiled water. Add to kedigree in pan with parsley. Mix in Egg milk mix, finish to texture.

Now, as BoP embraces everyone with banter and nonsense, those too weak to eat fish and the like, you can also do this and replaice the fish with mushrooms and the prawns with cherry tomatoes.

I am afraid though, butter is best alternative. Emulsifiers should be left to the paint industry. Also, Mr Benn comes to my plaice for his recipes as well!

3 Bowls are in a line in the Heads at the salt Mine. Now you never know if, when you face the bowl, if the torrent of water is going to flow while you partake of the view, and the advertisement on the walls. Well today, it seems instead of flowing when it felt like it, there be a continuous flood. Guess the bilge pumps while be overheating with amount of flow. Now in days of when I worked for R. A. Force and Co Ltd, the female block was being modernised! And they were confined for a while in a fenced off male block. They utilised the facing bowls to hold their house plants, and the watering system, swell, that was impressive!

2 day, nows yous lot. Last day, as Sparra no lick me changing words, I herd the news that neighbore was splitting up. What did I says to yous lot just YestDi. Nows ifs yous want Complexion Perfection and proper loving, yous has to bees like the BoP. Now I bet you lots think I am ruff.

Wells, I ams ruff. So ruff in the morning, that I always has my hearty oats thirst thing. Proper oats, turned into ruff cut PORAGE. Got the FRITH and Charlady? PORAGE. Not the man in a skirt version, but ruff milled from Alford. Cheap! Gosh, and I said that also above, and I said no ranting as well. Oh dear!
And whom does I have my Porage with. BoPsie, sat at the table. Then every Saturday we has the BoP SpagYETTI breakfast. Together. And tonight will be, as mentioned yesterday, we have mega pork pie salad, and ifs yous not like that, it will be repeated tomorrow and Friday!

Nows whens BoP bough his plaice, it was that it has separate dining room, so there is no bull ogling from moving wallpaper box. In fact, tv last night there was lots of ruffians, Indians and a deserter as well. And the women, my oh my. The bit were one played piano on the wagon was incredible. Was fiction as it seemed to be filmed in color, by delux! The Guns of Petticoat Fort! Now, them gals, not to be messed with, I tell you!

Only your whites should be separated, and then only in the washing.

1 If you snack and run, you have no table fun!

OK, Man J has been and gone. Affable and competent, nearish mon âge, had many instances of crock-ups to share. Tells & he comes through village, returns through village every day, could have done this yonks ago., the earlier the better, just what & prefers. Even today, it's not on his actual list, I've seen that, only an add-on this a.m.
He's also seen 'Dear An Engin &&&&'.

That's over for another year, dg.

it's good, isn't it? I feel much better for it. Must be tough in your job though.

Hello all - back from my holibobs and need a kick up the bum to get stuff done. Work is piling up and my get up and go is still in a field in Wales.

Still, I hope to post more regularly again and that things will get back to normal

So pleasures for the last whenever

    1. Didn't murder the MiL :rotfl: though it was tough at times. And I have persuaded her to go to the doctors for anti depressants, I think. She said "Oh I have had a lovely time in Wales", was sooooo tempted to answer "well you could have bl00dy shown it". I know depression doesn't work like that, i really do know, but she is so difficult and i am not sure if it is 100% depression anyway. The absence of doing anything for herself, even thinking for herself, is very hard to manage. It is like having another child.
    2. Did loads of exercise - walking, cycling. Managed to mainly stick to the diet - except for one Honey Ice cream, Frith. But, alas, my sugar free new self found it far too sweet :( And i put on 5lb  - though some has gone already
    3. Whilst the weather was not great, we managed to stay mainly dry
    4. DS passed his 2 GCSEs - much to his surprise :rotfl:
    5. Nice to spend time with niece and nephew (2nd FNiece and FNephew, who i don't see very often)
    6. DS had a great time volunteering on the railway and finally got his cleaner's card - now he can train as fireman.
    7. I managed an amount of "me" time - which is rare.
    8. caught up with episode 7 of the honourable woman - one more to go, hopefully tonight
    9. Did my "ice Bucket challenge" - wasn't too grim and someone at work donated a tenner cos i didn't nominate him :rotfl:
    10. Afternoon of baking - experimenting with sugar free. Should have been working though. :o

    S'laters
I wanna be in the room where it happens

At last! I'm back in the world of the MSE forums. It was lovely staying with my parents and spending a whole 5 weeks not thinking about school, but real life prevails and the children go back to school tomorrow in this area! Yesterday and today have both been training days - I feel thoroughly trained!

Right, here are my pleasures for the past few days:

    1) Because of my summer job, I've been able to afford to buy my flight to Dubai for February half term! :j :j My friend moves there on 1st October, so I'm giving her a bit of time to find a flat suitable for me visiting in Feb! She's under strict instructions to find an apartment nearish to a swimming pool and/or beach where I can read my book. :D

    2) Lovely to be back home with DH.

    3) Classroom is ready for the cherubs tomorrow. I've found out that a family, who were supposed to be moving during the holidays will not move for another 4 weeks so I have the lovely mum and child for this time! However, it does mean that the tearful farewell of 5 weeks ago will be repeated....

    4) New colleague in the classroom next door always seems to be making me cuppas. :j :j

    5) Plenty of recipes sorted for adding new dishes to our evening meal.

Take care everyone, and I'll catch up properly another time!

    1. NSD :)

    2. DD and I watched a cheesy film this afternoon, cuddled up on the sofa :)

    3. My new study arrangement is becoming less alien.

    4. A 2-bed house has come up for sale in a nice village that looks cute....I need to think seriously about the location (bit further away from both our schools) and the price and whether or if it's worth me having an £80k mortgage at the moment...oh and of course, the most important question, whether having a house with stairs is a good idea for me for the future! (Think I'm talking myself out of it now)

    5. Hoping to meet up with chums for lunch tomorrow.
