Evening all, almost bedtime for a tired me, been up and about since 4.30am.
In at work since 6.15am ...I have no cook so had to get cooking and baking! I quite enjoy this it's cooking breakfasts I just don't like! Anyway, no brekkies on offer this week so just cooking and baking for lunchy things!
Finished at 2 pm , which was lovely. One of our weekend girls came in to let me go early, it was so nice being home in the afternoon rather than the evening.
Walked to local shops for fruit and veg and got rtc meat....'twas like a committee of vultures ( having just googled the collective name for them!) as the man was reducing the meat!
Made a lovely chilli for dinner.
DD2 did her silly ice bucket challenge! I complained about the waste of water...made her stand near the orange tree so it got watered! Huge brother was quite happy to pour a bucket of water on her head!
I made a donation to the hospital where OH had his treatment .
Nice chat around the dining table tonight, one of the few nights we are all in.
Picked a posy of camellias, anemone , freesia and lavender, very pretty.0 -

still take it easy skint yet again!
I am struggling to remain motivated and am so fed up of not having people to talk to/ go visit around here. My pleasures today:
1. I have lit some lovely smelling candles so my living room looks all cosy and smells nice.
2. No spiders spotted in the house today!
3. A day to myself so have just lounged around the house.A big thank you to all those who post on the forum and make it a worthwhile place!!!:j0 -
Tres jolie & i am back to mes chaussette but then decided to watch the scrummy signor montalbano and cannot knit on 4dps at same time as reading subtitles. So sock still little more than a cuff.
1) remembered to scan dd2's tickets for harry potter studio trip and email her. It's not till next saturday but she left the tickets and has already gone to the big smoke
2) gbf came round to my office for lunch bearing gift of chicken and mushroom soup
3) lovely day so, having consumed soup, walked up to po to post aforementioned tickets
4) despite us not doing english bank holidays in scottieland turns out the po does :-( but did weigh envelope (po is in spar and spar was open). Letter now posted hooray
5) home and i (whispers) put the heating on. Taters! Macaroni cheese left over from last night and montalbano.
The lodger is back safely from her weekend with bf. They seem to have had a nice time. Oh and dd1 is applying for a job all fingers and toes crossed. It's only 8 months but would be a brill first step on the ladder.
So now to bed with the tantalising question to hopefully be answered tomorrow - did elizabeth stay with roy overnight?MrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

Consumerism is.....buying things you don't need with money you don't have to impress people you don't know and probably wouldn't like even if you did know them.0 -
1. Lots of help and advice from people on this forum re the situation with my daughter.
A special mention to our very own Ambersand. You words have been cherished and used as a bolster to my day bless you xxx
2 Fun but wet day out to the seaside. Had to pop into primarni to get replacement trousers and pants as wet through. Cheap and cheerful. Bonus being the girls now have autumn trousers
3. A yummy hot chocolate while sheltering from the rain.
4. Sealife centre. Bliss seeing all the fishes. I want a turtle they are so cute
5. Snuggled in my bed, with my seaside goodies, rum and raisin fudge. Peanut brittle and dinky doughnuts and a nice hot cuppa.
Night all xxSIMPLY BE-££577.11:eek:
Very BNPL - £353.000 -
First my apologies for wishing everyone a fine day for BH Monday, I definitely put the hex on it! Even the poor dog dashed out and back in at the double with me kneeling at the door, towel at the ready.
1. Although the weather kept me indoors I managed to do some housework including waxing my new sheesham side table. Now all my sitting room furniture matches for the first time in years. Seems every time one of my offspring got married/got a house of their own they raided my home to furnish theirs! Luckily the style I have today is too traditional for them so I may be able to hang on to it for a while, at least
2. Started to rub down the new-to-me Shaker style headboard prior to painting it white, but the dust was a bit much so will have to wait until I can do it outside. Very pleased with my bargain though, it's going to look super when it's done
3. Enjoyed a roast chicken dinner - the chicken did 8 meals, 3 of them man-sized - and the carcass is in the sc with some veg to make soup for another day. Doglet had some with his dinner too, spoiled mutt
4. Went through my photograph drawer, a huge underbed drawer full to the brim with photo's, to find a free standing frame for a photo of my grandparents which DM had hanging on her wall. Found what I needed, then downloaded some photo's of family which I took at the funeral and much to my surprise, and pleasure, there's one of my cousin and his wife in just the same pose as the one of our grandparents. I've printed them off and will send them to him when it stops raining
5. I've been reading a book given to me by DS, Virginia Ironside's 'You'll Get Over it'. subtitled 'The Rage of Bereavement'. It's a very common sense book which I'd certainly consider passing on if the occasion arose.
I won't, daren't, wish you a fine day tomorrow, just hope the sun shines for you whatever the weather0 -
Yesterday....
1. NSD
2. DD trounced me at backgammon - a pleasure, because it's good to see her playing becoming more sophisticated.
3. Am going to help a chum out with some display ideas for her classroom.
4. iplayer, watched Holby and Casualty, neither of which I've seen in months but somehow managed to work ut who's who, whilst cutting up number arrows for the classroom.
5. Made wheat-free walnut bread, nomnomnom!0 -
Is not what we want to hear.
Well dones to the ship’s Tom Cat, BagPuss OH gets a better job. And Jenny gives it one as well :heartpuls KK, use Rule 1654 Part3 Section 4.2 when playing games. Always keep your opponent within one with of a chance to go two on the bounce. Even better though if you let them win, then sneak in with the offer of Best of three!. BF. Your always chatting here. Tip from BoP. Rule 4 Section 2C, sub section UR1. Get a camera, just a cheap one at thirst, and join a camera club. & chasing peanuts again! PM2DD Mariners Mariners Mariners Mariners Mariners . New Glad rags, and graduation times. Any excuse, BoP got new hair covering vests yesterday. Sleeved ones as they are comfier! Now I forgot what I was going to say.
Rites that’s you
Rant on. Well on Sunday took a visit to the Gloucester Docks, not the punter scoop area, but to look see. Now as some of yous know, I come from Fish Town! That is, my veins run full of sea water and my lungs are filled with ozone. So we have now moved our heritage of the seas to some form of piracy! They had a training Tall Ship, Earl of Pembroke in the dock, so I would always want to see the connection. To say I was disappointed is somewhat short. Why was this rig dressed up with the black flag and skull and cross bones. Piracy was evil, not some kind of Hollywood adventures. Did not set foot on the ship, as I cannot be associated with evil. I suppose the emporiums will again be thrilled with the annual evil event shortly. And the only ones who get fleeced are those stupid enough to buy the evil.
Rant over.
Apols MIA. Just too much to rants about!
5 Well, the £3 voucher was used in earnest on Sunday last. What I actually need is a proper wife! Only £19.75 for food this week, and that included an extra large Pork Pie and Biscuits. OMG. We are just food tolerant. Oh, and extra Bee Sting breakfast for Monday of snorkers and Toms mushrooms etc.
4 Good job I cancelled the hols this week, as looking out of the Salt Mine winding shaft, I see grey clouds. Yippee.
3 Another car was off the road this morning, north bound M5 at Almondsbury. Noted to be of Germanic extraction.
Degree of difficulty 9, Artistic Impression 7 Technical Ability 0.
Was facing traffic, but more that 30 feet from hard shoulder. Occupants waiting fireman Stan with cutters to remove roof, though no visible damage to vehicle, apart from large track marks on the verge. It is unknown if a caravan was involved. Other traffic could easily get past as car is currently off the road.
2 nite is mackerel tea, with fresh salad. You know fish is good for you and that is why I have perfect complexion!
1 The world just went on by, but some slipped off.
Don’t live backwards!0
