5 OS Pleasures in your Day Today part 2

Good afternoon everyone :hello:
I'm afraid I've been MIA for a while again. I'm still doing my summer job, but will finish on Friday as I go back to school during August Bank Holiday week. On the plus side, I've earned enough to buy a ticket to Dubai to see my friend next Feb. Admittedly, she doesn't move there until October, but I'm keen to get things sorted!
I've had a rare weekend off from this summer job (last weekend I worked both days), but this was worthwhile! Pleasures are over a few weeks...
1) Spent the weekend with old friends. DH has very few friends(he's basically incredibly shy!), so this weekend was a a chance for him to catch up with those whom know him best.
2) More money coming payable on TopCashback. :j :j
3) Placed an order through Lakeland, using a voucher which I had. :j Free postage as I clubbed together with my summer work colleagues.
4) Enjoyed spending some quality time with my parents as I'm staying with them during my summer work.
5) Came home on Friday to see that DH had done all the ironing. He's a keeper!Sealed Pot Challenge #021 #8 975.71 #9 £881.44 #10 £961.13 #11 £782.13 #12 £741.83 #13 £2135.22 #14 £895.53 #15 £1240.40 #16 £1805.87 #17 £1820.01 declared0 -

Quickly 5 more[really &?] 'cos I'm thinking of them.
1. From terrific Lucy Mangan's grauniad column yesterday, on exams:
'I came across this line in Garrison Keillor's Lake Wobegon Days just after I finished my A-levels: "I silently earned a small reputation as a [child] of superior intellect, a little scholar… while in fact I was smug and lethargic and dull as a mud turtle." That's me, I thought, and hoped it would be enough to get me into university. And it was.'

-and I know this line, loving GK as I do.
2. More raspberries to freezer, morning and night. More are always ready at bedtime.
3. Lovely last season's h-g beans with The Turbigo Variant, unless that's a new non-book by Brown Dan.
4. Crochet started, has to be in NZ for 1 Sept.
5. Vic Marks is wise:

-although roses of albion have won a certain World Cup.
6. Heads up for a delicious Charles Paris episode ce soir:

7. Gathering up all my recent France and Kent beachy stones with holes.
A Life Rule: One must be picked up from every beach ever. They're threaded about the place.

Big bear hugs and lends of barky GSD (can be quite scary to hear but he's a softy to lovely people) available bagpuss x
1. Sunshine! Okay, lots of rain as well, but when we went out, it was glorious!
2. Lay on the grass at the town's castle gardens and read the Waitro$e weekend paper, whilst DD perused her Mo$shi Monsters mag that she saved up for!
3. Popped over to see the friends we went to Wales with.
4. Friend was delighted with the book I bought her, which will hopefully give her tips on helping her son, and children in her class, to enjoy reading. We shared lots of ideas for enthusing our class to read and think. Here's hoping they agree!
5. We've recorded another Indiane Jones film - DD will be pleased!
6. I've bought a HPotter guidebook for the tour I'm going to book her and daddykins on over the C****mas hols. Good old bay of E, it was half the cost of buying it on the day and is apparently 'brand new' so will be a nice thing to wrap up together with the tickets
7. FINALLY managed to get in to my MrT credit card account - I've been locked out for ages and eventually had to be talked through the process over the phone as the codes that were sent through by the automated system just didn't cut the mustard!0 -

Consumerism is.....buying things you don't need with money you don't have to impress people you don't know and probably wouldn't like even if you did know them.0 -

It wasn't a criticism.I sometimes think the same thing, that I shouldn't complain because I take for granted what many, many others have never known.
For yesterday
-I'm a bit of a 'biddie-in',so my entertainment is often found on the telly.I have a package deal, and was interested in the latest upgrade, except that it would cost 90 francs (about £60?).I decided today to treat myself to this, whilst I still have a full salary. When I phoned up to organize it,the women said, right at the end, that I wouldn't need to pay the 90 francs.I was gobsmacked.I asked her why,but I can't remember what she said.
-When I got to the swimming pool,I realised that I'd left my padlock and key at home.I asked if they sold them,as I'd forgotten mine, and the woman lent me one.
-all this meaning that yesterday was an nsd.
-no rain all day.In fact it was a lovely, sunny day.The forecast looks good for the coming week.
-picked two beetroot,a cabbage,more tomatoes,some Swiss chard,some green beans and a pepper.
Someone nicked one of my cabbages.
I've only got four!
I have an idea who it might be.0
