  • ampersand was it a baby rabbit?

    For yesterday:

-my mum and dad's wedding anniversary -53 years now. They went out for a meal at lunchtime and had friends over in the evening for drinks. They usually don't celebrate, and we've never been encouraged to buy cards etc,so we don't.

-had good walk.I couldn't face going swimming, with this rotten weather.I really want to go today.

-eating lots of my own tomatoes.

-watched the bake off.I'd forgotten it was on on Wecnesday night.

-I've started using up loose tea to make my cuppa.I have it in abundance, and don't want it to go to waste.

-another nsd.I'm now up to 12 for the month. :)

I hope that everyone has a good Friday.

Hello and hurrah for Friday! Almost bedtime and taking a break to do this in between puppy searching and going to watch some UK TV....have 4 years worth to catch up on!

Firstly, I have to pass on Sparrer's best wishes to you all. She will catch up with us all in a few days but appreciates all your kind thoughts.

I had a nice day at work, ever so glad it was the last day of my working week though.

My girls came in after school and helped me close and then we went for pizza to a local wood fired pizzeria ( went there with work colleagues last week) . Had very tasty pizza, absolutely full of carbohydrates and so very delicious !, when I went to pay he gave me 10% discount as I'm a fellow street trader!

Train home and DD1 and I had the giggles at a very rude lady sitting opposite us!

Working with one of my lovely colleagues today who is very fond of my DD2 , DD is having a bit of a bleurgh time just now , colleague bought her a bar of chocolate and left a lovely note for her. She is a star!

Well done Miss V on your exam results!
    DFV happy hols!
Marmite am I remembering correctly or just making it up...do/ did you live in Europe?
ampersand hope you we feeling better and that you have a stress free day:)

Right I'm off to choose a programme or two!

    Wednesday:

    1) Spent 2 hours on the allotment, weeding.

    2) Had a campfire and marshmallows and saw quite a few meteorites.

    3) Had an email conversation and looks like I've got my new bathroom suite sorted out.

    Yesterday:

    1) Started to prepare entries for tomorrow's village show.

    2) Went on the council run "survival" course and made a shelter, camp fire and hot dogs. Everyone was so jolly it overran by an hour!
  • What is it with

There be a lot of talk about cats in the parish recently, and &. What is it with & and beards! Thinks Cambridge, just down the road from us, and has a 40 mph limit, speed camera as well! I think it is those old Black and White science modules from the Open University in the 1970’s that sets her ..

5 Thirst daters last night in the Bridge. Ham eggs and chips washed down with a wobbleade by BoP. BoPsie was checking on the thirst daters, but low count last evening. Think they all must be on holidays.

4 Raffles, it has been a battle of wills. Raffles has been on Whiskas, bought at grave expense from the emporiums, steadfastly has refused to touch the rabbit version. In fact, he has refused all helpings to such an extant that BoPsie has surely given in and bought him cheap emporium version. Unfortunately, the local vermin and bird populace has suffered during his self-imposed Whiskas abstentions. In real tests, Raffles does not prefer it!

3 Well looks like fish is on the menu again, and for sure, that means today, for those that have the twelve extra weeks in the diary, it is POETS day. This is the first one this week as well.

2 Nite, I think we could end up watching another old film on the watching wall. The other night was an Audrey Hepburn epic, Laughter in Paradise. Absolute stunning part as well!

1 Bet you never knew that!

    Cambridge, in Gloucestershire!

I see raffles has started his own Thread:

    1. Left-handers' Day is always right for &.

    2. Took pic in downpour of ludicrously out-of-season solo apple blossom before petals dissolved.

    3. TMS, albion flowering, like Broad's face. 5th wicket just gone.

    4. Alma says OUI, re:screening ABs vs Oz, Bledisloe Cup demain. Can we make it 18 on the trot? The wimmin failed ignominiously, early on. Albion's up for that one that got away demain -Ladies' Day?

    5. If you're not offal-inclined, waltz away now. Have made a wondrous variation on Turbigo of enzed lamb kidneys, hurryupanduseme mushrooms, stock, broad beans, port, courgette, freezer h-g toms and whatever else, fresh h-g herby bits. It is divine. French farm butter recently acquired to start and end/emulsify sauce. Yumyumyumyumyum.

  • I regret to announce, that Raffles, who has earnestly refused every offering and flavour of Whiskas over the last few days, has finally got BoPsie to give in. The emporium, W8rz own has been purchased.

Raffles is recovery well, and is on his third sachet. BoPsie hand looks a little scratched.

    The birds are singing again.

    1) Washing my 'new to me' clothes I got in the charity shop this week. A Bravissimo dress, a White stuff dress, a Fat Face cardigan, and a pair of jeans and other dress - all 99p each.
    2) My kids playing board games (after they were banned from watching tv for misbehaving).
    3) The glut of veg my DH and kids brought home from the allotment.
    5) Thinking about the freebie holiday my friend has just offered us.
    4) My cheap wine from Lidl.

MrsPee - I haven't been able to go to a charity shop since July as my sons aren't patient enough to go round with me! I am missing them. :-(

    Pleasures for today:

    1) Bit of a lie in.

    2) Popped to Sainsburys.

    3) More weeding on the allotment. Decided to brave the village show tomorrow so we will be putting entries in the following categories: cucumber, parsnips, potatoes, biggest marrow (!) and onions.

    4) Worked on our food class entries. Sons have made cornflake cakes, millionaires shortbread and rocky road. I've made a courgette cake.

    5) Bigger son went to play the role playing game with brother and brother in law.

    6) Spoke to sister on the phone a couple of times.

    7) Bathroom tiles arrived!
