Thank you for the welcome back
Pleasures for yesterday,
1. Got to talk to someone during the day in my new office, think the thing I am going to struggle with most is lack of human interaction.
2. Yummy Chinese beef and rice for dinner. Remembered to put the beef in the slow cooker before I left for work.
3. Nice walk at lunchtime around the local area, I lived nearby about 20 years ago so was pleased that I remembered pretty much a short walk around the block.
4. It only took my 50 minutes to get home as opposed to the 3 hours it took the night before because of the road works. Won't mention how long it took me to get to the office in the morning
5. Other than buying my weekly bus pass a nsd.0 -

The cortege is not planned for today!
Gosh & up to speed! B-Fly, old movies. We has our box tuned to Film4. Balls, eh DD Rum of you. Think of your chest!
Ah, Teachers diary. Thats the ones with 12 weeks and weekends missing!
Sits expectantly with the outward facing chairs, has the music started?
5 I am surprised the Ms Stephenson husband has not commented on recent events. He must be devastated. Though my usual Buck of Face is awash telling me how good some b rate actor was. As with the previous, I did not watch that programme. In my day, and still today, I have other things to do rather that worry about .
Mind you he was contributory by his presence at some
4 Now as you all know, that BoP is Championi at Scrabble, words supplied by the Chambers Official Scrabble Words book, except awer, and checked most dutifully by moi. Today, BoPsie, still in night attire I musk say, removed two of my words from the crossword of Times this very morning. I ask yous!
3 Gave me great pleasure to read today, that a Swedish journalist had talked about buying a blood lust game for his children, and instead took them to see, in his words, a real war. Minded me of the day 32 years ago when Skid marks reflected on the loss of his Welsh Guardsman brother on Sir Galahad. So when you visit the emporium this weekend, remove the filth from the shelves as you browse pass.
2 Also the reason why I threw the sky dish back, it was full of adverts for blood lust games.

Sadly my lovely Mum passed away on Thursday, it was, as you know, expected and a blessed release for her but doesn't make it easier for us. No matter how old people are when they go it's still painful.
We've started to clear her home and it's reminding me so much of mcculloch's signature -
Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.
So many beautiful things in cupboards which could have given pleasure every day. I vow to use the best of everything from now on - not that I have anything of monetary value but definitely sentimental, so no more hiding things away 'for visitors'.
Have a happy rest of the day, don't forget to tell the people in your life that you love them. And as you're all part of my life, I love you toox
I'd been missing longer than I realised. Not good.
I am so sorry I missed this, Sparrer. Very belated condolences.
Thank you for the reminder of telling loved ones that they are loved.
'Pink Rose Candle Philosophy' for want of a better title, is something I woke up to a good few years ago and in almost exactly the same circumstances. My mum, who died aged only 67 in 1991, was the same as yours, Sparrer.
I used her steam iron for about ten years after she died, inherited from her in pristine condition.
It was an iron I had given her some years before in the hope that it would make life a little easier for her, as she just had a non-steam dry iron.
Her house had many lovely things tucked away, that were not worn/sprayed/applied/burned/used.
I have had that signature for all my time on MSE, and although I am no fan of the colour pink, I can't see me changing it.
My avatar does not reflect my tastes, but it does reflect one of my beliefs, linked with the signature, and the belief of mine that I believe is most useful to share for MSE.Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... Sending hugs and prayers to you for tomorrow, sparrer xx

1. Sneaky for yesterday watched operation wild, just stunning.
2. One new coupon added to the pile.
3. Right now watching Inkheart with a cuppa and wispa biscuits.
4. Worked hard all day 8 hours solid no breaks to get it all done.
5. I’ve been looking for jobs but so far I’ve found nothing interesting, but I am hoping its because it’s the summer slump, school holidays etc.0 -
Ooo it's Thursday morning already! ( does that mean it's nearly the weekend?)
My Wednesday pleasures included:
Train...sat and looked out the window all the way there, smiled when I saw a huge, fluffy tortoiseshell cat balanced on the top of a garden fence , lots of lemon trees and some beautiful cala lilies.
Work .. Not busy at all today , so got more ticked off my mental to do list!
Home...with enough bread, sandwiches , rolls etc to feed everyone. Made custard and lemon sponge for pud ( not for me though! )
The big news! I can now get UK programmes on my computer...well my son's old laptop, which keeps cutting out every 10 mins or so and I have to keep logging in ( probably why he got a new one! ) however , I can cope with that if it means I can watch my favourite programmes. So I've watched Holby and currently watching GBBO episode 2 as I type!
DD1 and I snuggled up in my bed last night and watched episode 1.
Sleep well0 -
