Frith - crayfish! YUM!
vjm - mine is simply called 'virus':rotfl:. I said this sounds fraudish, an over-used drama word of older times. Dr agreed, but said there it was and a nasty, hence swabs et al being sent off. Sense of smell has also gone.
Yes, re: Robin Williams, although as a non-cine person, know only Dead Poets' Society. Do, however, know more about boys>men who never lose the shadow of the Black Dog.

1. Sunday. Cabin fever after Church, still full of dead or dopey non-stinging bees. A swarm arrived in time for Sat wedding, landed on bride's gown. Heard all about it. Fortunately, everyone unphased and it made for a memorable celebration! Afternoon/evening - & out to one of her middle of nowhere spots, close by, with books, Thermos, big walks, hares running as stunning moon rose.
2. Hier - another npd so optician, Library[net/printer not working, again]via many free buses, took all day. Country meander via bus is good when time allows. Lovely bus driver - gentle with some who spend a day on a special remote farm en route. New bi-focals not right. Could be re-done for Thurs.
3. Explored £land, fittingly spent £1 - batteries.
4. In bed as soon as I rtn'd, exhausted by Archers time atm. Slept till 0100h, but woke:throat. Thought of sparrer, wondering if she was awake too. Felt I was treading memory of own same day path with her and still do. Spray and reading and listening all night till now. Shower and out to College next. Bus pass for another npd.
5. Raspberries are big, more picked. No blackberries found yet.

Hello from the land of chillyness but heating on and cosy inside .
Can't press the thanks button but have read and enjoyed all your pleasures....lots of early morning posters today.
Grrrr to doctor running late this morning, we had first appointment and he was 20 minutes late but to be seen again in 6 weeks.
Anyway, I got to work and we were not madly busy which is very unusual for a Tuesday but got some other tasks done which I ticked off my mental to do list ( it's a long list!)
Train home. I enjoyed the walk home, said hello to the magpies and appreciated the flowers in bloom.
Nice chat with friend from home on phone when I came in.
Made tuna pasta bake for tea, haven't made it in years!
Enjoyed 2 Satsumas one straight after the other
Have a good Tuesday0 -
Pops head around the door sheepishly and waves.
Sorry I have been missing for so long but life has been very hectic and there just didn't seem to be enough hours in the day. I hope everyone is well as I have not had time to catch up with all the posts I missed.
So there have been some fantastic pleasures over the last couple on months so in no particular order
1. This one is actually the best, I have a new great nephew. He was a little bit early and gave his mummy lots of problems before he made his appearance but now he is here he is just perfect.
2. I didn't get made redundant, I managed to get a job with the same company working in our operations department. I no longer have the luxury of the office being a 20 minute walk away but I have a job. My office is in the luxury setting of a hospital boiler house,
3. DD has her first full time job. She qualified as a level 3 nursery nurse a few months ago and has started work in a nursery and is loving every minute of it. We are so proud of her, learning has never been easy for her but she now has a qualification that is equivalent of 3 A levels in a field which she loves.
4. OH has been offered a new job, which he starts in just under 3 weeks. He was so fed up with where he was working so this again is great news. Our little family is going for all change at once.
5. I got to spend time in the North East for work which meant I could also see my family. Got to have lunch with my parents on their 44th Wedding Anniversary, also got to meet my new great nephew and enjoy a cocktail making class with my lovely DD. For a work trip I had a very good time.
There have been lots of other pleasures as well but think these are more than enough to be grateful for. Now I must make sure I allow myself a few minutes each day to post and read everyones pleasures as I know it gives me a grounding to my day and makes me smile.0 -
Radio Silence.
Just back in from quacks. System test. Ok.
5 Tight game of Scrabble last night. BoPsie called a count back, but BoP won by 5. BoPsie still one win away from being close to winning two on the pounce.
4 The footballs on. Thirst home game of the season coming up. Camera bagged ready. Car park will be interesting as charge has gone up to £4.
3 Quack confirmed that it has bin arduous work for BoP t o get this far. Bit, aha, I maid it this far. So there. Problems caused by pneumonia from a few years back
2 Morrow, at the salt mine should be interesting. Sid moment. Think we may have progress on chief miller.

Very very sad about Mork. Sobering.
Having good days at moment. Although the sunshine is showing up all the cleaning that needs doing, I'm enjoying the lovely weather.
HM flapjack is the best, with seeds and dry fruit, yummy.
Learning is great and learning to relax is greater. So is self confidence.
Keeping the positivity going.
Off for an Indian banquet so although a spendy day, a no cooking or washing up day

Caterina: I genuinely didn’t think that M&S would do mark downs, a pleasant surprise..
KK: Glad you can enjoy your week.
Very sad news about Robin Williams.
1. I have meal planned the rest of the week around a cheap chicken we picked up, well we picked up 2 but one has been chopped up into numerous animal portions.
2. Another work day done, another travel amount in the pot as working at home.
3. HM burger n bun for lunch, spag bol for tea, I have to be honest if dh wasn’t here I don’t think I would bother eating at the moment.
4. Quite enjoying the weather, it means I can’t paint the fence yet. Hoping for better fence painting weather next week as it would be nice to knock it off the to do list.
5. Pleasure to be - I have reckied over the wall to the woodland at the bottom of the garden and there’s berries, tomorrow they will b snaffled.0 -
Good evening,
Adding my voice to the sadness expressed about Robin Williams death. Poor soul, may he rest in peace now.
PK you better believe that marks do markdowns! Some of it is ridiculous, still silly prices even on YS, but if you strike gold some real bargains can be had. Late in the evening I had some amazing artisan breads for pennies. It seems to be luck of the draw, not a regular thing. Also w8rose do, and sometimes it offers breathtaking bargains!
Here's me for today:
1. My last full day babysitting for the summer holidays is over. Got a bit of money and the boys were well behaved. Will see them back on school starting day.
2. We went out to a community farm, where I bought some free range (Truly so!) eggs and some tomatoes, as well as a book for 20p.
3. Visit from DD after work, she started a new nannying job with a family she used to do babysitting for and she is happy.
4. Lots of hugs and cuddles from DS
5. Received a gift of Sardinian pastries, shared with my kids and their friends as they are very moreish and fattening.
6. Talking to DH on the phone. I miss him, but only three more nights and he is back.
Good night. Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0 -
Yes indeed, terrible to succumb to the black dog, and terrible for those remaining. Phoned my dad (who lost his mum to the black dog, my beloved grandma). Had nice long chat tinged with a few sad memories.
1) cooked a near as dammit perfect mushroom omlette for breakfast
2) ate one of the rum balls (now now bop no smirks) - it was scrummy
3) went to Taypark Hotel for tea and cake farewell to summer student. The house is where we were based till last spring, so great to see what they've done
4) and had a pot of ginger chai. Yummy
5) dd2 home when i got in. She's out now but had a lovely 75 mins with her

Hello, Tealady!
Quick pleasures for today as I am tired.
1) Up early and went to catch crayfish. Not as many as yesterday.
2) Posted Ebay sales.
3) Brother popped round to play on the Wii and eat brownies.
4) Got new blind for sons' room from B and Q.
5) Emailed cheapy bathroom suite place to see if I could have a bath panel with their job lot (bath, loo, sink) instead of the taps they wanted to provide and they said yes.
6) Gammon, pots, peas and carrots for tea and sons most appreciative and wanted to know how I'd done the gammon differently (?)
7) Holby.
8) Set sons off doing the washing up then looked across from the living room. One washing, one drying. Both singing "I've got a brand new combine harvester" and doing a bum wigglying kind of dance!!!
and 9) My sister went for a midwife appointment this morning and was able to hear the baby's heartbeat. :-)0
