    1. Had a fab night away at my lovely friend's house, with DD and her youngest child monkeying about until they dropped! We continued....

    2. ...on the rose, until silly o'clock, whereupon we sensibly decided to call it a night, as she knew her 3 year old would be up early this morning...

    3. DD very sensibly left me sleeping and I got up at a civilised 8.30 :)

    4. Scrumptious dinner last night of smoked haddock and roasted veg, carb-free too! :)

    5. We all went for a swim this morning, blooming expensive, £19 for the 4 of us.

    6. Sunshine!

    7. Fab chats with one of my bestest friends in the world :)

    8. DD and I had a lovely picnic in our old village rec today, whilst putting the world to rights and laughing lots :):)

    9. Got home in time to watch a film with the folks, as per tradition.

I also had some desperately sad news about a little girl I know, and would invite anyone with faith or spiritual feelings to join me in asking for full healing for her x

    Pleasures for today:

    1) A bit of a lie in.

    2) Went with sons and brother to check the eel trap and go swimming.

    3) Did a few jobs before the arrival of Bertha! (Lovely weather today save a little fall of rain at 11pm). 3rd load of washing on in case the power is off for a few days.

    4) Pie and chips from the van.

    5) Casualty.

marmite - re fox - Isis is Not Impressed, particularly as he's so fearless that he keeps coming up to the patio doors and pressing his nose against the glass to peer in at us! :rotfl:

I'm sure she isn't impressed, with a lot of strange smells to boot in her territory!

Talking of foxes, yesterday when walking to the bus stop,in the distance I saw a smallish fox.I was sure of it,then couldn't decide if it was just a big ginger moggy with a bushy tail. It's ages since I've seen a fox around here.
    pm 2 dd #utm

Sorry, but what do you mean by this?I've got the first bit I think, but not #utm.

sparrer and Kittikins sending hugs and positive thoughts

    For yesterday

-I had a another good swim.

    -another nsd.

-I made a mincemeat cake, made with ingredients that I had in.That's my newest challenge,to adapt baking recipes depending on what I have in,instead of following the ingredients list to the letter.Very nice and very moist.

-I've got a few packets of vegetable suet that need to be used up.I've decided to make more mincemeat with them. They are OOD,but I don't think that matters.

-I picked some more courgettes, some gherkin cucumbers and lots of Swiss chard.I'm going to make a tomato-based veggie stew today with some kidney beans to use them up,and also see about pickling the gherkins.I had a cucumber that was just waiting to be picked (my first one),and somebody nicked it.
I did a little bit of weeding.Hopefully I'll get more done today.

    -I had an early night.

Wishing you all a pleasant and relaxing Sunday.

Ooh just a word to the wise - i did this once with out of date suet (not vegetable), and had to chuck the whole lot as it went rancid. Better to chuck a few packs of suet than all that lovely fruit.
I wanna be in the room where it happens

Very briefly as I'm out of synch with myself:

It's thoroughly wet, so carbooting is off. More sleep! Unexpected pleasure.

Heroic child has excavated sundry kilner glassware from under kitchen units (please don't ask).

Got a load of strawberries for an excellent price so jamming session ahead! Box of cheap mango, too so chutney after a night in salt.

Book on jam making (updated War publication with WI help) arrived yesterday - just its *presence* is influencing the household!

Child curled up with a good book on kindle - unexpectedly in plain sight but simultaneously recharging gizmo at mains...

Hugs to all who need them & hoping this weather not a massive inconvenience!

    Evenin' all!

Nearly bedtime again. I've had a very pleasant Sunday and feel ready to start a new week.

Toast and papers. I'm giving up bread from tomorrow for rest of the month.I'm trying to ease back into low carb rather than plunging straight in which I wasn't able to sustain.

Cut down a tree between us and next door at our veg patch, lets in more light .

Housework dealt with so we are tidy to start the week at least....how long it lasts though?

My next door neighbour ( 94 year old who is now in a care home nearer his family) called me today for a chat which was lovely. The house was sold this week so I'm getting a sprightly 80 year old as a neighbour next month!....hope she doesn't like lemons!

Chat on phone with my favourite sister:)

Made a rather delicious lamb curry in the slow cooker. Lamb with pumpkin, mushrooms, peppers, onion, carrot, new potatoes ( from our garden) , various beans and tomatoes and spices and slowly cooked for about 7 hours was lovely!

    Watched another Holby episode.

    Have a lovely Sunday :)

Given a cucumber by a friend.

    :rotfl:

Wet, windy, stormy and horrible here on the south coast - there was meant to be a Thai food / culture fair on today but they cancelled it - good decision there, I think!
Back after a very long break!
