Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker I've been Money Tipped!
    1) Woke up this morning with a nasty sinus headache which refused to go away, so I phoned in sick to work and enjoyed an unscheduled day off playing Candy Crush (although it terrifies me how quickly you can run through money if you're foolish enough to connect your credit card to your FB account :( Have now promised myself I'm spending no more money on it! :o).

    2) My handsome fox friend dozing peacefully on the patio, unconcerned by my presence. Frith - I think you're right that he's a youngster, which might be why he's so unafraid of me.

    3) A very interesting phone call from a very nice lady from the Open University: charged with re-investigating my complaint (it having been rejected the first time), she called to let me know that she agreed I had good grounds for complaint and will be encouraging the University to uphold it. :T

    4) Isis sleeping on the sofa and not leaping off when I stand up, which is a first.

    5) Placed an online grocery order to take advantage of a 20% discount code they sent me.

ampersand - hope you feel better soon.
Back after a very long break!

From the front room of the BoP manse, with updates all night.

BoPsie, was within one of getting two on the pounce this week. At one all, is anyone's game for the faking. BoPsie to bag thirst. BoP is on spitfire wobbleade. Game on!

24 plays 10. BoP in an early lead. Poor BoPsie's first down including theZ for ten was forcibly removed as she spelled BLITZ incorrectly.

69 plays thirty, but we know BoPsie has up her sleeve the Z. Will she get lucky? BoPsie plays her Z at least. 82 plays 80. Anyone's game! BoP has rrrr in his hand. Tight game, BoPsie has had another word not found in the Chambers Official Scrabble Words book, and it is now 88 plays 80!

Bollardski. BoP plays Awer, a hole waging device. Not in COSW. Bollardski. BoP trails 104 to 120. Typical, a book fit by educationalists does not contain proper words!

BoP back in the game, leads 163 to 155. Q laid for 39. Bring my wobbleade, wench! Crash wobbleade is pored. Easy pickings now for BoP. But BoPsie picks on BoP's play, and trundles to a 220 202 lead!

BoP has both blanks, 211 259 arrgh. Correction. BoPsie has had her latest word removed, not in the COSW. Yippee!

Get in, WAGOns played for 43. One tile left. BoP leads. 258 242!

BoP has a minimum of six, and out. BoPsie had to score twenty odd to win. BoPsie ad clear site of AH HA to score twenty to take it pass the wire, but decided on some Singapore detective instead. CHAN not in COSW. Ceremoniously removed. BoP lays IN for 6. Final score. 264 242. BoP wins. BoPsie still one win away from being close to winning two on the pounce.

Apologies to & and a educationalists.

    Evening Peeps,

5 recent pleasures mark 2. Another lost post!!!!!

    1. Tuesday. Last visit to DD in London. She is coming home after 3 years at Uni in London. Sad because she wants to stay in London, but it will be cheaper until she has a proper job. Made it fun by riding around on 'Boris Bikes' and going to 'Ed's Diner' for dinner. (Vouchers made it half price!).

    2. Wednesday. Loaded up car with some of DD stuff to bring home and went off to Thorpe Park for the day. DS2 and I have annual passes, (thanks to Mr T and his CC points). Only had to pay for a Friends and family ticket for DD. Good fun, but thinking I may have to hang up my Adrenaline Junky hat as feeling a bit old in the queues these days. Had to sit out a few of the big rides!

    3. Yesterday. Picnic at Carding Mill with old friends from when I was a SAHM. I miss them so much! It was lovely watching DS2 playing in the stream, building dams, climbing up the hills. It was like watching 1950's children. Not an electronic device for miles!

    4. Today. Took back DD's tent to Argos and got a refund. She is performing at Boom Town festival this weekend and we found her a tent with gummy bears on the material. much more appropriate then the boring black one I have returned today!

    5. Doing housey things today. gardening, cooking and de cluttering. (Trying to get back into DH's good books, as he was a bit jealous that we went on yesterdays picnic!). 5 Ebay parcels dispatched. Made Bibote and apple crumble, branches lopped in the garden. The time has flown!

    Have a good evening.

    Love HE

    1, Slept a good 4hrs last night - appreciated.
    2. Another nsd/npd.
    3. About to choke on more throat yuk spray, usw through night, but improving.
    4. More watering interrupted by Bertha's arrival to show & how. It's mad outside. Trailering will be fun demain. Who else is having big rain? Thunder?
    5. Decadent brekkie just happened down under dense-leaved elderberry tree until rain grew - green tea, 2 apples, 5 de luxe chocolates. Where did they come from? Enjoyed them all, looking out over golden back field and just listening.

pk - I've loved re-reading your post. Your feelings and observations re: tides and places and times chime with so many of mine. Lovely writing.

Just lost a long post and know this one won't be as good!

    1) A bit of a lie in.

    2) Went to meet my school friend and her children (of 1, 3 and 4). The 4 year old is a boy and loves my sons. He said "When I'm big I'm going to be like those boys"! He also calls smaller son Daddy which is odd, but then he can't get his real name right and uses lots of variations.

Anyway, we had a picnic, walked through the woods then played on the playground. Obviously, with so many small people, the whole trip took 3 hours!

    3) Smaller son got his new glasses. I can't get over how strong they are. :-/ He keeps saying, "I can see EVERYTHING!" They look OK on him.

    4) Went to the allotment for sweet peas, gladioli, spring onions and potatoes.

    5) Had a NERF gun fight.

    6) Tasty tea of HM chow mein then not HM cheesecake.

    7) Prepared for Bertha by putting stuff away and emptying the water butt. Beautiful weather today. Not a drop of rain and the sky is magnificent - at the moment....

    8) Brother took smaller son for a game of tennis and to compare glasses.

and exciting news.... 9) a builder has been crashing around at MrN's for a few days. Got home today and MrN has swept the path between the houses (a first in 12 years! I've never seen anyone do it apart from me) AND stained the gate! (Also a first).

then.... (whisper it)... an estate agent arrived and showed TWO couples around. :-) :-) :-) :-)

and one of them stood by their car for ages afterwards talking to her! I can p.m a link to anyone who wants a look!

SSaver: Is your current role turning out to be a stop gap?
Ampersand: Thank you, and the wild weather has started to arrive also here at the moment. I’ve got to be honest I could do without a hurricane weekend, but that said the garden disagrees with me rather and it is being naturally watered I can't read the weather gauge from here but it's "lots"..:rotfl:

It’s one of those days where the broom broke in half and is now held together tape again and the pull out blind has worn rips creating holes in it that are filling up the watering cans….
    5 pleasures for today
    1. Filled in a camping form for another steam fair and sent the cheque off.
    2. First day of handover – done.
    3. Wrote another 2 pages.
    4. Received the Costco vouchers through, we are planning to head over there when they start next week.
    5. The freezer dinner I made, prompted a Lidl run:rotfl:, we really need to do a T run but Mr T on a Friday in a school hol - there is just no chance.
    6. We have a kitchen basket full of fruit and nuts for the weekend further to No 5.:D
  • SSaver: Is your current role turning out to be a stop gap?

Yes, it always was, with a bit of hope for the future, but it depends on two things and one of those is funding. My aim is to learn as much as possible while I can. :)

Hello, it's late afternoon here. It was a bright sunny morning but has clouded over and has been a very cold wind all day.

Got up bright and early and enjoyed pottering around all by myself.

I made a banana loaf and lemon drizzle squares ( with one of next doors lemons)

Hung 2 loads of washing outside...they got a good blow and smelled lovely when I brought them in.

Watched an episode of Holby which I've discovered someone has been uploading on to YouTube again, so I've a few to catch up on :) ( haven't a clue who half the folk are though!)

We dropped DD2 off at work and then went to our usual cafe, I had. Sour dough toast and peanut butter which was lovely and a mooch through the papers and supplements.

Then grocery shopping...very expensive this week, I actually checked my receipt before we left the shop as it seemed overly expensive....but right enough!

Quick in and out at home, picked up wardrobe that we'd ordered last week
And then a quick half hour clearing the veg patch. The spuds were very unwell looking after the heavy frosts this week. So they were dug up, our parsnips didn't do well so they've been dug up too. Did a lot of weeding and then we went to ...

Next cafe ...the one in our wee town is teeny and tiny and just lovely, I had a pumpkin and feta quiche with salad that was very nice......

Then on to work to pick up DD2. The train lines were closed for line maintenance today and she would have had to go on the replacement bus which takes ages!

Home to find our son had constructed about 3/4 of his new wardrobe! :)

We had a lovely dinner last night with friends , good food and good company

Today has been a day with many parrots heard and seen...usually heard first, they are very noisy. Blossom noticed on trees and magnolia ( one of my faves) starting to bloom.
Even on my work days I notice and appreciate the beautiful nature that surrounds us over here, I meet many lovely people every day ( meet a few roasters as well! ) , so she I say I've just been at work all day, I've actually for the main part enjoyed it, chatted all day and shared some laughs with colleagues:)

Do have a lovely weekend, sparrer you are in my thoughts x

CCP what a handsome fox.I agree,he looks young.

Has Isis seen him?If so,how did she react?

I had a very nervous cat (Big Whisker Face),and the one thing that helped her come out of her shell was being brushed. She just loved it,and the change in her was amazing. She was still timid but turned into a very chatty kitty, who used to bustle around the flat and really blossomed.A big regret of mine was that it didn't occur to me soone.rFoxychops also loves being brushed too,and has a love/hate relationship with the comb:rotfl: Have you tried brushing her?

    So yesterday:

    - I had a good swim

-I sorted out another few things on my list.

    -chatted with a neighbour.

-watched an interesting film on the telly.

    -gave myself a manicure.

    -did loads of stretches.

-sorted out my slow computer myself. :D

-was an nsd,and have got my 4 in a row.

    Have a good weekend all.

I hope that you're on the mend soon &.
