Kittikins - glad candles are allowed at your school. Had to be banned in some classrooms at school my sons went to as the fire alarms went off on everybody's birthday.

    1. Ham bake for tea - used up ham and veg.

    2. NSD

    3. Managed to finish little jobs at work which I've had to do over past couple of weeks.

    4. DS1 counting down till he leaves work.

    5. Watching Holby.

Evening all, been a pleasant enough day, milder than of late and days stretching out again, ever so slightly.

Train....passed 3 levels of candy crush on my phone....my secret vice !

Work....well work was crazily busy today, we seem to be picking up more passing trade as well as our usual which is good....but could they just give us 5 minutes to draw breath? Please and thank you :)

Out on time, not long to wait for a train and a quick pop into fruit shop for some bananas and mandarins.

Easy least tea of pies from freezer and boiled new potatoes from the garden.

DD1 is ironing again ....she just keeps doing it without being asked!

    Have a good day :)

    For yesterday:

-it was a lovely, sunny day, with no rain whatsoever!

-the washing drying out in the sun.

-I did a lot of pruning in the allotment.A neighbour advised me to cut off some leaves on the tomato plants,so that the fruits get more sun.I think that I went a bit overboard.Hopefully the plants won't die of shock... :o

-I was given a courgette plant, which is in fact a pumpkin, and is flourishing like a triffid. There are some good sized pumpkins growing already.

-I never got to the pool,so did some skipping instead.

-some more long overdue housework done.

    -another nsd.

    Happy Wednesday everyone.

Five years ago today my other kitty (Big Whisker Face) died after becoming ill the day before. When I was working I would always ask for the day off,but actually thinking about that day is too painful.I'll try and think about happier times with her.
  • And while you were out.

Cakes, candles, fire alarms. No forest fire then! Aye, Note gets passed the DD. SS get the wobbleades inn. Welcome BFly. Oh not, not another teacher. Rings ‘ed in fancy! Where are the Social Workers? No, not put you off I hop! HairCut? Did you ask for something for the weekend? Easy trains and no sugars. KK, that’s it gal, Mhags, look away. And if there is a kin of & Qu'ils mangent de la brioche. And VJsRun. You should have one with a cup of tea! Oh, and & as got a bug. Guess it calls for a :heartpuls from Jenny. No take BoP tip. Flu jab, local honey. Lemon and hot toddy. You could add whisky to taste and leave off them grapes! Now I shall rattle on as normal, leaving three chairs in the room. One each for the educationalist, shrink and unsocial worker. The only problem is they are outward facing.

5 Now back at the salt mine, nothing changes anything. March is on to the oblivion of a band on hope all ye who dared to stare at the puddle in the yard. Be a while for the salt to dry this month.

4 Last night watched the Arsenal, or the wannabe Arsenal. So many seekers and no fortune yet.

3 BoPsie decided to let her BoP have a school day pop, as I downed a wobbleade as well. Now really should had done that Monday with the livers of chicken. Still, Saturday there is hope. Now I ask, BoPsie when I did the livers of chicken, with onion and toms, she only set the table for one. I have a delayed rollover Sunday S’s Sit, Shave. Shower and Splash, to be groomed perfect for Tuesday. But, she did not want to venture into to see the feast. And to think, Saturday lunch is on as well!

    2 No news!

1 The pan has cooled, yet those who walked the coals are now suffering.

marmite - I do that with my tomato plants all the time; as long as you leave enough leaves that they can still live, they'll be fine (and, at the end of the year, you can take off all the leaves to ripen any remaining tomatoes - they won't need to grow any more by that point, so can just sit with no leaves on for a while).

mhagster - I had a go at Candy Crush yesterday, and kept telling myself I couldn't see what all the fuss was about, before playing just one more level... :o

    DD - la la la, I can't hear you. I'm not jealous - I'm not! ;)

VJsmum - sorry to hear about your nightmare journey home, but glad you're back safe now. I'm not at all jealous of your travels, either! :p

    1) NSD, unless you count buying virtual fish for my virtual aquarium, which I don't as it's virtual money, too!

    2) Lots of rain overnight so the garden's all watered, and lovely yellow stuff now when I want it.

    3) Sorting out the annual statistics for student disciplinary cases, which is reliably entertaining in a '!!!!!!?!' kind of way. :rotfl:

    4) Dropped my chef's knife on my foot while cooking dinner, and somehow ended up with only a minor scratch on my foot - that thing's so sharp I could easily have lost a toe!

    5) Chorizo, tomato and bean soup with bread and butter for dinner.
Back after a very long break!

    Busy day here!

    1) No lie in as had to get to hospital for 9 but not a bad sleep.

    2) Hospital! Massive wait as someone was taken poorly. Had to leave sons in the canteen. Checked on them at 9.30 and they were playing cards! Got out at 10. Scans completely clear. :-)

    3) Saw this.... not exactly a pleasure but quite something: http://www.kidderminsterartsfestival.org.uk/events/the-transormation-of-vicar-street/

    4) Went to the opticians. Bigger son sailed through. No Fuch's Corneal Dystrophy for me (have a 50% chance of inheriting it). Smaller son's glasses will be ready on Saturday.... he is not altogether pleased!

    5) Went to the allotment and got a good bunch of sweet peas.

    6) Went swimming with sons and my brother.

    7) Exciting afternoon! By chance, read something on the internet about ROC posts (built to withstand nuclear attacks and watch out for aircraft during the cold war). There aren't many (and certainly not many left) and, after 15 years living here, I found there is one 300metres away!! Not only did we find the aircraft gun housing shed, then the ventilation shafts, but brother got the hatch open and he and smaller son went down the long ladder underground and had a look round!

    8) Watched GBBO.

    1. Relieved I hadn't wasted Dr's time. Spray and tabs should help in 3-4 days. If not, back again. Had to promise.

    2. Not long in from monthly Compline. Always want to go, tho' not in great nick for up/out atm. Glad I did, as always.

    3. Paced self through day. Optician first. & lunettes underwent 101% transformation in France. Knelt on them, then stood on fallen lens. Frame price has not changed for over 10 years. 2 fencing panel runs done next. & uses B&Q Weds. discount card for neighbour when poss. Took a couple of hours, then up to hedge for bus and Library AND 1st free John Lewis drink+cake, aka cappu+carrot cake[with marzipan carrot on each slice:-)] No probs over expiry date of 4 Aug as young man spoke up for me. He'd been present the other day when & was unavoidably late. How lovely it was! & settled into leather tub chair, overlooking old Colleges, y compris her own, gazed far to Gog Magogs and wind farm, Felt totally skewed about as this was always a pointer for &'s visits to long-hauler over >2 years. Chap diag. opp. commented on &'s Brian Sewell title. & had looked forward to last chapter+JL freebies as happy interlude, but 'twas not to be. Man made quirky observations, was waiting for wife's gift pedicure to run its course, said 'Wednesdays in here used to be full of college maids on their days off. I always remembered that, thinking how unfair it was that they had only a half-day off and it was called a day off.' Then, 'See over there, past Emmanuel?....Well, I put that roof on that one, years ago, instead of going to New Zealand. We nearly did, but we went to Spain instead. Now we've been back a few years and we're moving again this weekend. Last one....I think. That's how I knew him' pointing to the very good cover portrait of BS, 'Good talker, knows lots. They're not all like him. He's not a pseud'

Things went on from there. Bookoholic of & resonance, he had his wife's returning comment to a 'T' and we all laughed. I liked her, had pleasure in telling I'd noticed her very stylish cut swagged tunic as she was Downing the escalator and I Upped. One of those pleasing crossings of paths:)

    4. Last bus back to car, still enjoying recalling 3, still with BS to finish, watched hare race across a vast stubble field while bus stopped for red light.

5..........by which time, might as well read that last bit until Compline. No point in doubling petrol>squat+out and back again. Done. All good, including one of the protected bats[no chance for Raffles]circling high in chancel. As & left, C14 stone arch framed tall chestnut, 2/3 moon cupped in ancient forked trunk beyond and again, bat circled. Taiz! music still drifted through as always for Compline. All good, very very good.

Frith - weren't Hassle-free Son Haircuts something of a first? That's worth celebrating. And what a find/explore! Could be a very cunning geo cache?

Got DD a computer game and she was very pleased.

    Watched the bake off

Made Jamie's couscous and all snaffled - very satisfying.
