BoP - Raffles really is a handsome gentleman, isn't he?
Steaks and Italy, Brrrr, Aye, that'll teach you to rush off back!
5 Had them wheat biscuits this morning, with a dash of milk, tea and lots of Raffles. he has legged it at the moment, obviously there is an open window somewhere!
4 Made some veg soup today, and it has got BoPsie all a gissly. Bit too warm for it today, but hey, done loads. Then we had Salmon, Jersey's, peas and salad. Home made Parsley Sauce, not that packet carp. That was followed by vintage Spotted !!!!!!, well it had been in the cupbored for a while, so it had to be eaten, with the now infamous lumpy custard.
3 Snoggled up to watch 'The Cruel Sea' last night, still an excellent thought provoking film, that leaves you in no doubt about its ability to give you the thoughts of the time. Such a shame another of the era, is bloody confounded because of the Scampton wallah having some dog! Note, when I was at the main centre of activity, R. A Force and Co Ltd, Waddington, these northerners were not allowed further south than the Stonebow!!!!
2 Now BoP does complain, that he really does need a proper wife, but now our weekly shopping is becoming toooooooo much of a joke! Now last week we got £4 of prawns, this week again, it came to just about £22. And it is bull food free. We got salad, bananas, pineapple, toms, lettuce, cheese, milk, mackerel, crumpets, two squashes, and a bloody great decent tart, bakewell variety. Paper and bits. All for £22 again. It is now embarrassing. I cannot imagine what it would be at Mr T. Well, the paper voucher, and the free cup of tea does help.

Am enjoying reading the posts even if my contributions have faded somewhat.
CCP did you find the BL Lights Out candles? M&S sell them for £4, don't know if they have them in stores but I ordered mine mail order. Seems a shame to light them, so I bought 2, one to light and one to keep
Caterina another meet would be lovely, I'd like to do one closer to home but don't go on enough boards to justify one. Having said which if anyone in the Beds, Bucks, Cambs, Herts area would like one I'd be happy to organise/agree a date and venue
mhags wrap up and keep warm
Am home today as so many others want to visit DM. Looking forward to tomorrow when I go again, even though she doesn't know now that anyone is there.
1. The weather
2. Your posts
3. A friend took me to Sainsbugs for lunch, I think she's afraid I'm getting thin - I wish :rotfl:. But I am eating, mainly grapes and bananas and the odd sandwich. Very impressed with quality and quantity, and a pot of tea which didn't drip
4. Had the car cleaned while we were having lunch, don't know how they got the weeks of motorway grime off but it's sparkling again now
5. Loving all the pictures of your mogs, I miss mine enormously but next door's helps to make up for them, he's very loving, and very cheeky!
Enjoy the rest of the day0 -
sparrer - - candle! I forgot to look last time I was in M&$!
I will have a look tomorrow and, if they don't have one, I'll get one online instead - thanks for the reminder! :T
DD - your post reminds me of playing a James Bond game on the playstation with my sister years ago - unfortunately I'm not good at directions so my instructions tended to be along the lines of "go left! Sorry, I meant the other left!"
VJsmum - have a fantastic time, and have a gelato for me.
1) Waking up to the smell of freshly-baked bread, as I put the BM on the timer before going to bed last night.
2) NSD and NPD.
3) Cleared the comps board again, although I don't imagine it will stay cleared for long!
4) Chatting to my DF on the phone and hearing his pony yelling for food in the background - the poor critter was recovering from a nasty attack of colic so an appetite can only be a good thing.
5) A very exciting grand prix, once again with no-one seriously hurt by the end.Back after a very long break!0 -
Happy Sunday to everyone. I am dipping in and reading, but am not being a good responder, but I enjoy reading everyone's post. Thank you.
1. I bent slightly to get a soap from under the sink and. 'Sharp twinge!' Now hobbling, but I'm grateful it is mostly when I try to bend slightly otherwise not too bad. Need to take more care of my back
2. Sunbathing out in garden, closed my eyes put radio four on, earphones in, felt like I was by the pool on some island. Even fell asleep. :rotfl:
3. Lots of leftover roast. Nomnomnom
4. Feeling more positive everyday
5. DHs mood has lifted. Pleased for him (and me ).

Good morning!
For yesterday:
-we had a lot of rain,so no need to water the garden.
-went for a swim.It's so nice to swim in a 50 m pool,instead of the usual 25 m.The rain stopped while I was swimming,and then,once I was out,started again.
-had some HM apple compote.Very tasty and no sugar added.Just some water and cinnamon.
-my holiday plans are a bit more concrete.
-a friend sent me some gorgeous pics of her Persian-cross kitty.
-another nsd captured.
BoP what a beautiful, dapper moggie Raffles is.
sparrer sending you best wishes for your mum.
supersaver poor you, back pain is horrible.
VJsmum have a super holiday!0 -
LOL village life, your number five would truly be a pleasure for me
Bongiorno from beautiful Italia
Pleasures for yesterday
1. Not the getting up at 1.30, but the fact that I managed three hours sleep. I always think some sleep must be better than none
2 flight was bumpy but ok, as I expected it to be a little choppy, with al the waether systems around. Flew sober (which I don't do often) as the fear was better than the after effects of the wine
3. Drove round and round and round Padua trying to park. At least OH didn't lose his temper and the bizarre payment system in the car park was entertaining - at one point we were in a kind of airlock and thought we might be the all night
4 there is a myth that there is nothing to do in Padua - it is correct :rotfl::rotfl: (except if you are "of an age" like me, you annoy your children by walking round singing "I've come to wive me wealthily in Pad u aaaa" from Kiss Me Kate)
5 anyhoooo it killed the time we had to wait before we could get our house, it is pretty, it was warm and sunny and we had a lovely lunch.
6 driving through beautiful countryside to our rental house. And what a house - I can't work out why it was so cheap (relatively speaking), maybe because it is in an obscure Italian town, not venice, not Padua, not Verona, not lake Garda but kind of near all of them.
7 we had a problem, flying meant we could bring no food, Sunday meant there were no shops open. Luckily we found a bar and bought nuts, crisps and cake (and beer :p) so we wouldn't starve.
8. OH and I took a walk in the opposite direction and found a rather obscure English pub :T. We sat in the garden and had beer and wine (twice), olives and smoky bacon crisps - how bizarre. All for €8 - we will be back
9 then - best of all - a pizzeria. So takeaway pizzas all round
10 eaten in the beautiful garden, washed down with beer, deafening crickets.
Lovely. Have a nice day allI wanna be in the room where it happens0
