Fancynancy I recommend MrTs grown up fish fingers. They are delicious. But Prosecco and Magnum, now you're talking. :D. ps I agree up that gratitude works.

DD sorry to hear you are a little down. I agree with Kittikins, home is where you make it. Enjoy your family time this weekend. :)

BOPS - Cleethorpes 1976 - We had a little holiday chalet bungalow at Humberstone Fitties, fab memories and we could walk to the zoo at Cleethorpes. Those were the carefree days of my childhood (puts on rose tinted specs).

    1. Electrical and boiler work done at very minimal disruption to normal service.
    2. Ironing done and put away
    3. Spare room looking tidier
    4. It's Saturday!
    5. Lovely night out with lots of wobbleade (love that word) but slight head now :o

Evening from cold Melbourne....have felt a bit bleurgh today, which was a shame as it's OHs birthday so I wasn't feeling at my best for being celebratory.

After a hard days work , following a sleepless night , I slept on sofa almost as soon as I got home!
Then slept all night and could quite happily have slept again this morning! I am so over jetlag!

Anyway on to more pleasant things than my sleep pattern!

Saw some stunning calla lilies growing on the grass verge next to railway line.

Nice chat with someone who works in next shop on the train home..we put the world to rights!

DD1 dealing with an issue at school. One of her teachers was very rude to her in front of another teacher ( who had asked DD to help her with a subject/ career expo) , the way she was spoken to left my daughter in tears. Now I could have intervened but she has went to her year head and reported it and followed up this meeting with a very eloquent and mature email.

Nice birthday brunch at our usual cafe late morning then I came home to bed for another few hours sleep.

Then OH and I nipped next door for some fresh lemons off the tree. The house is up,for sale so not sure how long free lemons will be available ....unless we make friends with the new neighbours! ( we do have permission to pick them at them at the moment!) I took OH so he could reach the high branches :)

Have a lovely Saturday....back at work tomorrow !

    Hi all

    Struggling to keep up......

Supposed to be packing as off to Italy tomorrow. - they have changed our flight time from 7.30 (bad enough) to 5.00  to avoid a strike by Italian ATC. It means I have to get up at around 1.00 am double :eek:

    Pleasures for last few days

DD turned 18 and had a lovely day and is thrilled to be going to New York next spring.
Colleagues at work easing my path into the holidays when I was just about ready to resign over some stupid poxy form filling
Lovely meal out for DDs birthday
I will try to shut up about the diet, but will just celebrate that I am 13 lb down in 14 weeks.:T
DS finished school for the year, I love the school holidays. Proud that he achieved 100% attendance this year :T. So they gave him (and others) a day off to go to the local theme park :rotfl:
DD and I went to Miss Saigon on Thursday. It was our Christmas present. Amazing. I went through the emotional wringer, and I wasn't the only one judging by the sobs and sniffs going on around us
    Lovely lovely warmth and sunshine
    Spectacliar storm ;)
Lots of walks in the evening sunshine
Spent my £50 Joe Browns voucher colleagues gave me for my birthday. Spent in the sale and got two pairs of jeans (one white, one "baroque") and a top.
Watching "an honourable woman" while doing ironing

Right, my open suitcase is looking at me so I'd best fill it. Laters
I wanna be in the room where it happens
  • Here is the weather forecast from Raffles

I'm out, so the sun is out.

And as for the water that was in the yard around 2 pm, you will notice it has gone. If you live further down the hill, no problems, it is on its way!

BoP - Raffles really is a handsome gentleman, isn't he?

VJsmum - have a fantastic time in Italy. Will you be treating yourself to some gelato, or is that off the menu following your fantastic weightloss?

whichwhydoIturn - it's great waking up next to a purr, isn't it? My Isis has started dozing at the top of the bed, rather than at the bottom where she has previously been, so I've started getting a 'good morning' purr, too. :)

    1) Very long lie-in this morning - the previous night's storm-watching obviously left me more tired that I had realised as I didn't wake up until nearly lunchtime. :o

    2) Had a raid on an online clothes sale, making use of a money-off voucher and cashback as well. :money:

    3) No sign of the thunderstorms promised for today (:() but a decent amount of yellow stuff this afternoon.

    4) A lazy sort of day, catching up on comps, earning swagbucks and playing games.

    5) Making amatriciana French bread pizza for dinner.

ETA - I think I might have slightly over-done the chilli in the amatriciana sauce. If you hear fire engines, it's probably because my mouth is on fire!
Back after a very long break!

    2. Found the dish I wanted at the clearance jumble sale

    3. Also two lovely ceramic pots to store things as am trying to reduce plastic dependence

    4. My two OS friends came to the jumble sale and then we had tea at mine

    5. Dinner of fish and chips, ice cream and wine.

    Good night.
Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).

Have a lovely holiday in la bella Italia, VJsmum x

    1. Sunshine - but I do wish it wasn't so humid!

    2. DD went to two birthday parties this afternoon and had a brilliant time at both :)

    3. I'm cutting out carbs as much as I can, and after 2 and a bit days am already feeling less bloated and meh. Missing bread though...*sigh*

    4. DD's school report was lovely, her results show her hard work :)

    5. Reading two fab books, do love a thriller :)

    Brrrrrrrrrrrrrr....that is all!

Back at work today and very busy but my lovely husband came and helped me close. We then went to pizzeria across the road and shared a pizza. Brought some home for DD1's tea....as we are nice like that!

Possums in the tree when I drove into driveway!

Being grateful that I live in a safe environment when you see all that is going on in other countries at the moment.

That's me for today ...final week of masterchef starts tonight.....hoping I can get a life again once it finishes:)

    Have a lovely day :)
