I had a really busy day on Thursday,so I took it easy yesterday.

For yesterday, hhmmmm, let me see if I can find five:

-I sorted and disposed of a mountain of recyclable rubbish (paper, glass, veggie peelings). What a difference it makes in my tiny kitchen.

-I did finally throw on some clothes,in order to go out on slug patrol in the garden. It's been raining here,on and off,for over a week,so got to keep an eye out for the wee blighters. Two hours later, everything that needed to be done, was done.:)

-My raspberry bush has one or two berries on it.I picked my first fennel bulb. Some tomatoes are slowly turning from green to orange.

-I also am in the process of preparing a stretch of garden in order to plant more veg seeds/plants.I haven't decided yet what to plant, but the sun will be a bit limited.

    -eating some HM popcorn

-I had an early night,in bed at half nine!I read for a while, then dozed off, with Foxychops (my kitty) curled up next to me.

    And I'm off!

Back to the land down under where women glow and men plunder.....you maybe have to be a certain age to remember that song!

Yes,I remember it!Is it by 'Men At Work'?

Did they have any other hit songs?I can't remember.

I hope that you have a smooth journey back home.

I've found two lovely sounding cake recipes by Dan Lepard, though I'm not sure about the carraway seeds:

    Here is the recipe.

I'm a big,big fan of dried fruit cakes, and have made vinegar cakes in the past (they were very nice),so these two are definitely on the cards.:)

    Hello <3

I like this thread. My friends sometimes don't get my joy at OS things.

    Today I have:

Learned how to clean my washing machine with vinegar and bicarbonate of soda.

Realised my cleaning rota is working meaning my flat isn't ever very untidy.

Hung out washing on the line as it's sunny and windy... so tonight I'll have line fresh sheets on my bed :)

Noticed that the big load of lavender in my garden smells wonderful when it warms in the sun :)

    1) Decent lie-in this morning, despite Isis deciding at silly o'clock that she was feeling completely better and would like me to get up and play with her.

    2) Gave the climbing jasmine a good prune, giving up only when my garden waste bin was full to the top - the rest will have to wait until it's been emptied!

    3) Big brave Isis has been outside a couple of times today - for no more than a few seconds each time, but she seems to be slowly accepting that the mere act of going outside isn't as dangerous as she thought!

    4) Treating myself to a takeaway pizza for dinner tonight, in celebration of my newly-acquired degree - with a voucher, though, of course! ;) :money:

    5) Nothing much to do tonight except eat pizza and watch football, and a good thing too as my arms are seriously aching from several hours of fighting with a jasmine plant!
Back after a very long break!

Picking up where I left a few months ago, hello again all!

    1. What a glorious scorcher of a day!

    2. The builder we hired to rebuild the wonky outside wall is doing an amazing job

    3. Got an email from DD who is backpacking across Europe with her brother, telling me that they are in Prague and loving it.

    4. I love hearing from DD and DS, I miss them but it is also so lovely to be alone with DH, life is so much simpler!

    5. Local fish and chip shop does a Saturday deal, £5 for cod and chips, one is big enough to share, it has become a lovely weekly treat, especially while we don't have a kitchen (work in progress).

    Good night x
Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).

    1. CCP's degree :)

    2. Sunshine - but dare I say it, I was (and still am) too hot.....

    3. Woke up to DD's chuckles as she watched a DVD in bed beside me.

    4. Nice trip to the library with DD, we both took out lots of fab books and spent some of the afternoon in blissful silence, lost in our textual worlds....

5...and the rest of the afternoon splashing about in the paddling pool :)
