:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:
That's 5 of those for the sort of day I've had today - and still am, so vicariously I'll dispose of them here.
1. Putah's doing viles and infuriatings and remedies are not UnDoing, but I'm looking for help on :money:mse:money:and will have another go later.
2. Dump run with, entre autre, 8 heavy to load double-glazed lengths of tempered glass, 165x60cm. No takers on freecycle. Managed this end in a bit of a Right Said Fred sort of way and was so grateful for lovely dump man, with whom I have the sweetest and best of working relshps:p.Personnel all changed a week ago, he said, when I commented. Mostly East European and Wow, what a difference! I was barely out of car when 2 bounded up to start unloading for me. Had heaps of neighbour's latest bunny housing packaging and lots else.
One of the panes had shattered en route - yes, yes, & tonning it along the A14[nbl]- - but the big broom was at work, even as & fished about for her own dustpan and brush.
3. Lovely man shunted through all the microwaves and found me a triple-lug pyrex plate, so my new-to-me model from Vicar's husband's uncle's estate CAN SPIN and work properly. :T-said &, told him he was a dahlink, and he is:D.
4. Still can't get the N&P card to work in a machine, so have had to phone up the help centre. 'You won't be pleased', said person. 'I see it was cancelled on 10 April.!!! Wh-a-a-at? Last chance saloon tomorrow to phone up and blah blah blah...but he has made notes for a complaint and it looks as though & will be lumbered with card use charges again, in France this time. The whole point of this card was to avoid them. I am not pleased.
5. Nor was I at Mr T when my petrol money wouldn't go in to my a/c. Being told I could go another 16 miles in wrong direction was not well-received. After this will be heading some miles other way to sort it out there.
Whole day swallowed up in backwardses and still unfinished business when I should be all packed and ready for the off.....:mad::mad::mad::mad:
[5 more for symmetry]
A NICE THING - Horatio Clare, The Voice, on this, to which I'll listen again later, unsnarling......http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b048n3fb
It seems far too long ago that I ruefully finished the final Cazalets at wee clox this morn.
Unfortunately bop[yes raffles, I rose to the bait]

Today hasn't been a great day - it turned out I was right about Isis sickening for another bout of her occasional illness, and we were back at the vet's this morning.
On the positive side:
1) My lovely manager said I could take the time as compassionate leave, so I don't have to make it up another time. :T
2) Isis decided not to try to delay the inevitable and ran straight into her carrying box when I put it down, rather than making me chase her down as she did last time.
3) After her treatment, the nice vet held Isis still while I put some flea drops on her, something I have been trying and failing to do by myself for several days.
4) Picked some more HG blackcurrants, and now have enough to cook. :j
5) More football to watch later tonight, although I doubt it will be as goal-iferous as last night's match!
Get well soon sparrer!Back after a very long break!0 -
Live report from the Bridge. Thirst daters night. I have the camera phone, images will be ...
My gawd, there us a table of grannies as well. Run ...
Latest. Tall blonde has pulled. Reckon BF will be up for air at Christmas.0 -
Kittikins - well done on the good teacher stare! One of my favourite lines is "put all 6 feet on the floor, 2 of your own and 4 from the chair". One child fell the other week, despite me nagging. His response? "I see why you tell us to put 6 feet on the floor!" Hmmm
My pleasures for today:
1) A whole £3.46 transferred from Top CashBack! :j :j
2) DH cooked an omelette for supper. Yum!
3) Have found a hotel in Crete for DH and I during October half term, cheap in comparison to other websites and via Voyage Prive. Never booked through them before, just need to take the plunge and book it! Hmmmmm................ (good reviews of the hotel on Tripadvisor, I've checked!)
4) Decided that I'll offer a "Bake Off" club at school next year for our enrichment golden time type activities. One of last years' Great British Bake Off contestants lives locally, and attends my cake club, so you never know I might get her along! Having said that, it would be more exciting for me as the children should be tucked up in bed by the time GBBO is on tv.
5) Credit card paid. More Avios points to add to the pot too!Sealed Pot Challenge #021 #8 975.71 #9 £881.44 #10 £961.13 #11 £782.13 #12 £741.83 #13 £2135.22 #14 £895.53 #15 £1240.40 #16 £1805.87 #17 £1820.01 declared0 -
Hugs Ampersand and CCP xx
1. I'm going to 'magpie' that line VickyA
2. The sun came out!
3. Picked DD up from school againand, as lovely as her car share chum is, it was lovely that she wasn't with us
4. We went strawberry picking nomnom.
5. We picked up my tickets to Plymouth - anyone live near there and can give me ideas of what's good to do down there?
6. We went to my placement school's village park, met up with loads of lovely children and their parents and had a jolly hour or so chatting, playing, watching impromptu acrobatic performances!
7. I got over my boredom by laminating my new class' bookmarks that they made when I went in for the dayDo I know how to party or what?!
8. Transferring my number over to my funky new phone seems to have worked a treat
9. My study is slowly getting vaguely tidier...vaguely being the operative word! I'm not renowned for my tidiness.....
10. Found all my library books to take back, phew! I often misplace one or two.....and have a panic, so am rather relieved0 -
Busy couple of days here!
Pleasures for today:
1) Reasonable sleep.
2) Smaller son made a bit of a fuss about going to the high school transition day. Then he saw his friend in reception and barely said goodbye to me! It was presumed he would be in the autism base all day today but he said he didn't want to go in and stayed in the mainstream classes all day. They sent an undercover TA with him (who pretended to be helping everyone) and she wasn't needed either!
3) I picked him up, he said he had had a wonderful day, then slept all the way home. :-)
4) After dropping smaller son off, I went to hospital to look after my friend's youngest child (aged 1) so she could have a pre-op appointment.
5) Had a cup of tea with her in a caf! afterwards.
6) Did the charity shops (not a town I normally go to) and found a White Stuff red dress.
7) My mum took bigger son climbing.
8) Watered the greenhouse on the allotment.
9) 2 minutes at home then took smaller son to open evening. Very boring talks but met someone I worked with for 10 years - hadn't seen her for about 5 years! Her son is starting at the same high school.0 -
Off out for petrol now, will demand Using Own Bag points.

I do quite a good line in "mother stares" with my classes. One student said quite recently "I bet your kids are really scared of you" :rotfl:. Erm, no, I just reserve those looks for you lot
Glad DS got on well, Frith, he seems to know what he wants
Pleasures for yesterday
1 cleaner came, we had a good chat, and our holidays coincide so no awkward arranging to do
2 work was ok. A colleague and I had some fun winding up another colleague - he took it well.
3 really loving my whole food eating regime, but risked some Doritos with my huevos rancheros last night. Didn't think to look at ingredients and had a fairly dramatic reaction to the MSG  that stuff is not fit to eat..
4 colleague showed me this

Look left
Black Forest beach cricketers. That was said once before, oh no. Isis goes to the vet, Raffles pulls the birds! Blackcurrants, that will be jam then. Sparra :heartpuls Enrichment Golden time. No, nearly gluten free now. Magpie, Raffles, Magpie. See them birds. Strawberry picking. Scons (& and suvverners, SCONE!), Clotted Cream and topped! Strawberries should be eaten fresh, not made into jam. Study clear and Library done. Plymouth. Hmm, went on a course there years back. Naval place. They would not let us off base til liberty boat had come ashore! My ex chief told them what he thought of the old salts. The Hoe and Smeaton’s tower. I think there is an open air lido as well Greenhouses and climbing. After the Lord Mayor’s show. Did some actually stay that long? Tonigh, interesting film on ESPN around 7:30ish. Will be different aspect after watching Simon’s War back in 1983. Though that bit is not available on liedepedia. Be a Contrast to Skid Marks brother, who lain on that boat.
5 I looking ahead today, as I seem to get my pleasure all in the future. Well last night, BoPsie bought me a black sheep. I thinks she goes by name nowadays, so it comes as she sees fit. I had ham egg and chips as well. Only place I get chips now. Though the waters were nice.
4 Whole food eatine. Well BoP has nearly gone totally gluten free. But I note that the Doritas has snook in. Now, when the nice Ruskies ran out of food in the 1970’s, and not for the first time in their dim lighted rooms, they needed the help from Nixon. They just happned upon the husk syrup from the corn, after those toasted flakes had come from. Now this syrup was a bit unrefined, so over to the Ruskies it went. Now they refined this syrup, and kept their people in the old black and white film world for another 15 years. Now that syrup eventually found a use in some coffee whitener, and other materials. Now why do I say this, them nice cheese bits you ate, they are real? Nearly, but one off the husk. Now, but that nice cake that you have with the foam coffee? That orange flavoured chocolate drink? You looking at the ingredient list now, but you say, I am only drinking coffee, diabetes is for fatties? Well, that corn syrup, is called Glucose Syrup. Now look again at the nice pink cream in the bun and that foam coffee. Then another foamed Chocolate orange drink. Still, those cheese and onion crisps for lunch.
Then look at the plain packet and see them naked, no not the one with ready salted, those plain ones. What. No sugars on the cal list.
Now, that coffee, nicely foamed. Good for you with that blue creamed topping?
Now, you may notice where that every little extra help comes in!
Sits, sips tea, chain oil style and with no foam.
Sorry, went off there, but I first found out because we had a diabetic at a previous salt mine and the coffee in the machine was foamed to perfection, not. He could not understand why his blood sugars went awry at work! All down to the Glucose Syrup whitener!
3 Did anyone actually watch that, we watched thirst daters instead! Lot more interesting.
2 Night, as I said above, watching ESPN at around 7 o’clock. Now for those who need telling, this is when the big hand is on the 12, and the little hand is on the 7. More tomorrows.
1 Don’t walk round in black and white, when you see in colour.0
