5 OS Pleasures in your Day Today part 2

Shall pop in and say hello whilst I have time! Another busy day in the life of me!
Dreadful nights sleep again, a combination of rubbish bed, a wriggling companion and jetlag. Jetlag has not been too bad and I think the lighter nights have made a difference and the fact we've been very busy in the evenings. Anyway the pleasure was finally being a decent time to get up!
( trying very hard not to wake up my MIL too early!)
We are baby sitting today watching my friends DD whilst she is at work....so far so good!
Roll and slice and a tattie scone for breakfast!
Going to another friends for lunch and hopefully a riverside walk weather permitting. She lives in the countryside.
Then it will be a dash back with friends DD and then quick change into more glamorous clothing and drop my DD at a friends for dinner there and then dash again in my glad rags for dinner with friends.
Time is ticking and we leave on Friday, after today everyone has had at least one visit if not two. Tomorrow I need to start to repack and see if we have enough room for everything or if we have to buy another bag! We travelled with less than half our baggage allowance but as usual I go slightly daft when I'm here!
I have loved seeing everyone again , being topped up with love and friendship once again, taken a zillion photos which salve a sore heart once I'm home and away ( see what I did there:)) from everyone again. marmite I think you asked a couple of pages ago if this was first visit, this is our 4th visit in 4 years. We are lucky that we get paid trips every year as part of my OHs contract , we certainly could not afford it!
Have a lovely day0 -
Quick skinny dip. Bin in meeting at Salt mine to the now. As we don't want commoners to know what we do, it is against four wall, and no natural light. So I will be back later.
Though I hear on the pitter-patter it is raining.0 -
Music club tonight, bit of a rush but I thought I would share with you Angrove Rumbaba's day - he was at the Great Yorkshire Show today in the Retraining of Racehorses ridden show horse class.
He was up against 46 other ex-racer show horses, most with years of show experience and he with just a few months.
Here is what his lovely owner said:
"Today has been one of the nicest showing days I have had, 47 ex racehorses in a ring and Rummy acted like a pro, not in the placing but not bothered at all. This little horse's attitude made my day, within the 8 months I have had him he's come on leaps and bounds."
All due to her remarkable talents with a horse who knows he is loved and cared for and only wants to do his best for those who love him.
He made history again, first coloured retrained racehorse to make it to a major show ring.Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.0 -

ampersand - thanks for the link to the Cambridge Open Studios. We're visiting friends at the weekend in East Cambs and there seems to be an open studio just around the corner from their house! :j
Kittikins - welcome to being a "proper" teacher. In order to practise your new found status, I am ordering you to do 100 "teacher stares" and 100 "teacher smiles".
We have a Year 10 work experience girl in my class this week. I did a happy dance when one of my Year 3 girls eventually *got* a particularly tricky mathematical operation. According to my class, the Year 10 girl thought that I'd completely lost the plot. Erm, yep! :rotfl:
My pleasures for today and yesterday:
1) NSD today! :j
2) £3 worth of cashback has become payable!
3) I have an offer of a place to stay when I next visit Sydney, Australia. Only problem is that I have to find the cost of a flight. Hmmm.....
4) I've joined a new survey panel for Avios. I'm hoping that I'll get loads of points and therefore loads of flights.
5) Yet another story written about events in my school for the local paper. The deputy head wanted to know whether I was applying for a job as a journalist with them. Erm, not yet...Sealed Pot Challenge #021 #8 975.71 #9 £881.44 #10 £961.13 #11 £782.13 #12 £741.83 #13 £2135.22 #14 £895.53 #15 £1240.40 #16 £1805.87 #17 £1820.01 declared0 -
