It seems to have got rather late!

    Pleasures for today:

    1) Bit of a lie in.

    2) Went into town and got the right fitting for the new lampshade.

    3) It was some sort of bellringing/church open day so we went in a church that is redundant (hence rarely open).

    4) Lunch at a caf!.

    5) Popped in to see my school friend's mum on the way home for a cup of tea.

    6) Popped to the motor racing with my brother. Never got there so late in the day before (stayed about 4-5pm) but still interesting and lovely weather.

    7) Got chips from the van and ate them with a very tasty pheasant curry.

    8) Enjoyed watching the men's double final.

Quick post as in a certain burger chain to avail of their free wifi before church. Haven't read back but hi to everyone and hope all is well.

Had a lovely last couple of days , pleasures include:

Early morning walks with great niece , niece and friend and her daughter. We went to our woods, in our river...thank goodness for GN's wellies!

Dinner with my old boss, who I love to bits and we had a fabulous dinner and a lovely catch up.

Lunch with daughters friends and were able to include her as we face timed! Her face was so full of happiness, I know how much she misses the girls. Lovely to catch up with them and listen to their plans .

Lovely catch up with aunt , uncle and cousin yesterday.

Lovely early evening chats with forever friends in their garden in the sun.....I have a bit of a tan thing going on on my feet!

Today's anticipated pleasures include early service at church , returning some things to primarche and a barbecue at friends this afternoon. Hoping the weather holds for us.

It has been amazing catching up with everyone. The bonds of friendships strengthened again. I truly love my friends ,they are great!

Right , I'd better log out and go to church,

Have a great day will catch up when I can :)

Sorry to see about the job ccp but good to read all your pleasures
    Haha re bopsie and G
    5 for yesterday
    1) after perishing start to day (really had to fight putting heating on fri night) a gloriously sunny afternoon and evening
    2) having agreed we will share the house for the foreseeable future xoh and i got stuck into the garden while dd2 continued to strip the stairs
    3) bought 2 4m by 1.5m bamboo fence thingies (i know, very technical!) for a tenner from home bargains. And a pair of snippers (cos i cant spell seceteurs) for a squid from l!dl
    4) went to an american themed bbq. Made a stars and stripes from putting bits of strawberry, melon and blueberries onto wooden skewers and placing on foil-covered tray. Very effective, simple and tasty
    5) got home 8:30, took dawgs for walk round to mum's with dd2 and dd2's bf. Mum looking much much better after her fall. I asked if we could watch the match. She sed why is Luton playing? Mm luton world cup contenders? Mum not a footbal fan, kept asking why they kept passing to each other rather than shoot at goal. When we got into extra time she suggested they should add an extra ball each 10 minutes :rotfl: then first penalty shootout she said 'oh good they've scored a goal'

Sorry to hear about the job CCP, the silver lining is not having to move and I hope you find what you want a bit closer to home soon
VJsmum so pleased you enjoyed Glasto, I never got there but Reading and Knebworth on more than one occasion. Don't you just love the atmosphere?!
mhags good to hear you're still catching up with friends, and having a great time by the sound of it. You have a lot of good friends 'back home', just goes to show what a lovely person you are
Vicky/Giddynmg now my Summer events are on hold this year they'll be watched on television, although we did have to go to Henley to get some more clothes for DM so got caught up in the crazy last day celebrations.

Time taken up with visiting atm, little time for anything inc the garden which looks like a wilderness. The birds, bees and insects are enjoying it though, so it's not all bad. The laundry can wait, luckily I have enough (too many!) clothes so will last out a week or so yet. Very grateful for the weather, there's nothing worse than mway driving in rain. Catching up with tennis and the Tour de France in the evenings which gives me a chance to unwind.

    Wishing everyone well :)

ampersand - pleased to hear that I've been Wombling, with a capital wubbleyoo. I will be brave enough to search out further unclaimed points.

Frith - your crops are looking good!

VJsmum - good to see you around!

It's been MIL's birthday this weekend. This means that the whole weekend is given over to the celebration. Now, don't get me wrong, she's lovely (apart from the incessant chatter) but TWO days of birthday celebrations? It's not even a big one. Last year, my best friend had the audacity to get married on MIL's birthday. This was VERY selfish of my friend to ruin MIL's birthday plans for her wedding. Could she not have chosen another weekend? :o

However, it is good to spend time with family BUT......

    My pleasures:

    1) Time spent with family. I appreciate this is precious.

    2) I was released for good behaviour this afternoon and went to cake club! My cake went down VERY well. :D

    3) The sun has shone, when the forecasts said it would rain all weekend. :j :j

    4) Planning just about done. Having a breather for a few minutes. This includes for science, we'll be looking at creating chocolate crispy cakes. We will discuss the need to melt the chocolate to change its state etc. Honest. :D

    5) Organised with a friend to see her and her family next weekend. DH gets on well with her 4 year old. Think they're both on the same wavelength. :rotfl:

    1) NSD and NPD, for the second day in a row.

    2) A grey, damp sort of day, so I didn't feel too guilty about having a lazy day watching sport and entering competitions.

    3) And the rain meant I don't need to water the garden tonight.

    4) Easy dinner of baked gnocchi with garlic dough balls.

    5) Cut my finger nails. My nails grow really quickly, which is a pain as I like to keep them as short as possible - I'm much happier now they're back to the barely-there length that I like.
Back after a very long break!

    1) dogs slept in!!!
    2) got loads more done in the garden while listening to the tennis
    3) at the really exciting bits switched to coming in and watching. So gardening got less and less :rotfl:
    4) got a splinter from yesterday out of my finger. Felt soooo much better
    5) took dogs for long walk after the tennis and admired the views. Dundee is looking very beautiful at the moment

Just a quick update as the smallest cat thinks there is a shrew in the porch and she is tearing the room apart to get at it (there was a shrew in the porch that she had caught - I let it out!)

    1) Bit of a lie in.

    2) Neighbour who is always oblivious of everyone else's discomfort was supposed to be looking after her friend's dog today. She did this by tying it to a tree and blowing a dog whistle at it out of the window every few mins. :-/ Cue ALL dogs in the village howling and barking. She didn't notice. So a pleasure was MrN wading in to get her to stop it!

    3) Went to my school friend's parents' for lunch. :-) Just like the old days (they always do a lovely Sunday lunch), in the gazebo.

    4) Got house clean and tidy.

    5) School friend came here for tea.

    6) Sons OK.

    7) Watched Casualty and didn't realise there was an episode sometime during the week so I might catch it on iplayer a bit later.
