bop - explain your 4. for Her Buspass Ancience please? 2 years? Surely The yellow thing laboratory is not in this shock announcement? Thought you'd converted e'thg to remote and trained Raffles up exprès?
kk - your mention led me back to Carl Sagan's Mote of Dust and Pale Blue Dot, which I love. He, too, stands tall in my panoply of Loved Men.

    1. Some happy reading above before bed and more good book.

    2. Didn't stay long in summer dress - too cold, too damp, and then Fen windy across village field. Picked up a decent leather suitcase though.

    3. On way to collect wallet, met and chatted with priest-in-training's rugby son. He's a grand Cornish boy and his Mum works well with our Vicar[both Mums with families]. I do have 2 rugby caps from NZ for him and a couple of bits in the boxes arriving eventually. Had my camera, so was able to answer a couple of his ?s by showing pics of cousin's son NBHS team in various matches I watched while there. Speaking with young men-in-the-making like this is special.

    4. Reduced to cricket listening today and typical - into village shop @46 without loss, out a minute later, 2 wickets down. Not too bad ce soir though. Hold on, is this England I'm being glad about? Mr Boycott will have another apology to make tomorrow after An Incautious Remark...even for he. Could hear the loudly disbelieving Ed Smith Black Hole silence and young Ed is just about the best handler of GB in broadcasting batting partnership.

    5. Farce of Wallet continued. Left another village to return to y'day's to collect it from AE. 'Ah, but S has taken it. It's at the Vicarage. She came in and said she'd see you.' 'Oh, where?' 'At Blah this arvo.' 'But I've just come from Blah, started at 12' 'Oh, she thinks it's at 2' So another loop executed. & re-connected with wallet at Vicarage, where Vic. said 'I came round to your place to bring it back. You weren't there though.' 'No. I went to collect it from AE, after going to blah after I read your email.' 'We're going there. I'm there for the quarter-peel they're ringing' said Vic. 'But Blah is 12>16h. It's X that's 11-17h.' said &. Vicarage lunch will rush a wee bit: we are so lucky with its inhabitants these days.

6.......and we're lucky with so much else, too, aren't we all? Truly, yes. Tealady, isn't it time we heard adventures of your latest IR shoes? Skylarks singing late as I left one of my middle of nowhere places this evening. It's a bit chilly still, so cuddly cardie will be on in bed.

Nighty-night, sweet dreams and pink icecreams.

Frith - multicheers for FENCE! and for allotment. I'll have some strawbs in the morning, if slugs and birds and tiny little snails are overnight kind. That's a terrific sounding card[lit. and fig.] - so Dad is completely OK again?

    Weekend pleasures:

1 - Very busy in work on Saturday. Went quickly and was enjoyable.

2 - Night out with my OH last night. I had treated him to tickets to a comedian he likes and was worth every penny seeing how much he enjoyed it.

3 - Up early to go and take my dad out for a pancake breakfast and give him his pressie. After that spent a little time with mam and dad.

4 - Dozed most of the afternoon. Lack of a good night sleep is really starting to affect me.

5 - Nice long chat with my sister this evening. Can't wait to see her this week!

My pleasures haven't been very MSE lately sorry.

Have a lovely time with your sister. I'd been thinking about pancakes too - might do some myself in the morning, so thankyou for the extra little push:-).

Evening from chilly and damp Melbourne, been a day of very heavy showers all of which I've managed to avoid.

Drove to work, got there early and radio on and happy baking scones and muffins before anyone else came in. Quite a productive day ....drove home, all the while thinking ' ah, this is why I take the train!'

DD1 had GP appointment with very nice GP. DD has just done the ironing...she has discovered she likes ironing!

Popped in next door as saw neighbours daughter was there had a chat with her. Her dad has settled in to his new care home up where they live. So I'm happy that he's settled and I can take lemons of the tree whenever I like!!

Don't think I've managed 5 shall save some for another day :)
  • An apple a day does not work!

Muffins, them mules get everywhere. Big Sis. Try dark curtains. Aye, remember if the people from Venice had not invented blinds, it would have been curtains for us all. & No, not responsible for lack of sun. Fencing. PK. naughty, not get the early worm! Legs gone.

5 Off to the docs one hath gone. B 1 oody chest infection. Rubs tum. Now when I were a lad, about size of little Frith, pills came in bottle. No Problemo. Then in blister packs, the size of a match box. Todays poppers, to keep Jenny oiled, come not in the size of a pack of cards, but more like a packet of Shredded Suet, a variety is available at your emporium. And the sweeties, 7 per blister. Not looooose thems if I drop them on the floor. Oh, and bits for the chest and skin as well. Jenny is not happy!

4 My previous 4. Man Cave, a hole when men live, without them comfy pink things that gals hang up. Normally located in yard, has pointed roof. No looking at liedepedia, there. Mine contains comfy chair, ex three piece, stool. Heater and beer. Real beer. Closing, well it is closing on Thursday night at 9:15 for 2 years, as Engerland will be coming home. Ooops, forgets & is from far off lands and France. Football dear, not Rugby!

3 Just had lunch with BoPsie. She put BoP cream on his back, as he got rash as well. back I said Sparra, not ...

2 Blooming Uruguay. Was going swimmingly with me accumulator and they loose. Still, back where we started thanks to Mesi.

' Ooops, forgets & is from far off lands and France. Football dear, not Rugby!'

In said real lands, 'footie' IS Rugby. No other kind.

A better day, thank goodness. Here are the pleasures from it (so far).

    1) Not a bad sleep although it gets hot upstairs.

    2) Went to have a cup of tea with my school friend and her 2 youngest.

    3) Finally got back on the allotment after a week! The man with one tooth helped me put the tap connector thing on properly so I could water everything. Everything growing OK. Took home 2 sorts of lettuce, 2 radishes, strawberries and raspberries.

    4) Popped to Sainsburys.

    5) Smaller son's teacher wanted to see me after school. Cue cringing from me.... but it was OK! The teacher from the high school who saw him get so stressed last week had popped in to see what he is like normally. They had a little chat and he is looking forward to going again on Wednesday. One of his classmates is going to be in the communication centre (alongside the autism base) so they are going to meet together in high school reception before they go in. :-)

    6) Had a laugh with the other mother who talks to me outside school sometimes as we were both wearing blue trousers, a red t shirt and plimsolls.

    7) Just had a tidy, put lots of washing away, cleaned the fridge out and made a big pot of veg soup.

    8) Listening to Oasis now whilst working.

    9) Dad of Frith is OK, not in hospital but now on antibiotics and being tested for gallstones....

    For the past few days
    1. Chaired a meeting on Friday
    2. Chaired the first half of a full day convention on Saturday
    3. Sunday morning spent mentoring, Sunday evening ditto
    4. Early bed for me last night (10.30pm!) as up early this morning to go to DM - thank goodness the traffic wasn't too heavy - where DB and I cleaned her flat top to bottom, end to end. She has an agency visiting on Thursday, hopefully they'll be able to provide some help as DB at 72 post-cancer/heart attack really shouldn't be doing it, and I can only get there every other week or so.
    5. I think I have a free day ahead, so shower, early bed with a hot chocolate then zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Have a good evening, with footie if that's your choice or perhaps like me, with a good book. In my case about the history of the region my ancestors originated from, been looking forward to reading it for ages and as I (hopefully) will have no interruptions....

    Sweet dreams :)

Thanks ampersand. Hope you enjoyed your pancakes if you had them!

Frith - Glad to hear your dad is out of hospital. Hope they find out what is wrong and he gets better.

    My pleasures:

1 - (Yesterday but forgot to add it) The Loveliest Chocolate Shop in Paris book for 50p. I really enjoy a bit of chic lit to dip into from time to time.

2 - Varied day at work with lots going on.

    3 - Getting a pay rise :)

4 - Started early so finished up at 4pm. I really like finishing early as I feel I've still time to get stuff done.

5 - Getting some financial stuff sorted out.
