Sunday evening, happy camper is just back ( not sure his GF as happy...probably very cold and damp!) glad he is home safe and sound.
Woke up at silly o'clock. Phoned friend form home and had a chat with her.
Nice quiet drive to work, green lights all the way. Okay shift, home with a pile of resumes to sift through and lots of bread.
At work I made the most delicious feta and pumpkin savoury muffins....if I do say so myself!
Stayed on an hour and a half today so I could change the till over once we were closed with new menu prices.
DD1 has a gaggle of girlies over under the pretext of 'study' apparently!
All I hear is lots of laughing and shrieking, she made choc chip cakes. And iced the banana breads I made yesterday.
I've had quiche for tea and made OH an omelette.
Happy Sunday
marmite
Off the top of my head as recipe is at work: banana bread
Mix 3 eggs, 3/4 cup of veg oil and 1 1/2 cups of sugar.
Add 2 cups SR flour, 1 tsp baking powder,
1 tsp cinnamon, 1 tsp mixed spice.
2 cups of mashed bananas and 1 cup of sultanas.
180o for approx 50-60 minutes.
I think when you were last posting here bananas were around $13/kg because of cyclones in Queensland and bananas were a luxury item! Nice to have you back0 -
The boys passport that we applied for on 12th March has just been delivered on 14th June! Hurrah!0
-
mhagstar thanks for the recipe.I was just going to ask you if bananas were still as expensive!0

2. PHEW!
3. Chorus of friendly greeting as I entered The Alma. I am so taken aback, ever and always, by anything like this.
4. The little turn-up black bunny with ginger unders....doesn't belong to neighbour. Where has he/she come from? Prettiest little thing - there it was, munching happily outback, now de-forested, then across to my sorrel. This morning it's next door - again - shaping up to neighbour's bunnies, but he doesn't want to catch/contain her as he doesn't know her bill of health.
5. Church fêtes various hier, inc. ours and the weather was just about okay. Only 2 No More Books, which is astounding for & and dbl cassette of Ted Hughes reading poetry - perfect in car.
6. Another shortly, down road, as soon as I've caught up with Hurrchirz, sitting outside with cappuccino, perfect accompaniment to rtc 9p pain rustique of w8rs species, containing fried Holy egg and lush bacon, so much a not-& brekkie! It's scrummy. Lightly mist spitting, skies grey, but this doesn't matter.
7. More Peter Pan and Railway Children on r4x - love them and will listen again.
8. Wearing an old French summer dress I love.
9. Thanks for your Banana recipe mhags. I have some rtc 3p per kg bag carrots to do cake-y things with. What's your best one for these, please?
10. All things duck done with the carcass>soup; meat>sort of sweet'n'sour/lots of veg thing which is divine.
....but it really looks as though I've lost my dear old vege peeler this time. Did so much using up over the last few days, I think it's gone with Thursday's bin men.

1. Yesterday's school fete was great fun, and blooming tiring.
2. I have a car boot full of things from my own stall....books, some 'rainy day' games, stickers and 'things for my classroom', as well as books and DVDs for everyone at home and at my placement school.
3. We went out today for a scrumptious lunch to celebrate daddykins' day.
4. Last night we watched a DVD of Carl Sagan....very soporific, only DD stayed awake! The music was all new-agey and his voice soothing.....

3 Listening to the cricket again. Just not cricket at the moment. We need to slog the ball into the members enclosure. Good and proper.
2 We had Sea bass, crisp grilled, with Jersey Royals, butter minted butter expired on 11th April 2014. It was ok last week. Yet again we had home made sauce of parsley, not that cheap packet glue variety. With mushy peas, and two week old on the stove soooooooooup. very bread of crustiness. Nom Nom. No spotted !!!!!! this week, BoPsie had whisked up some butterscotch foam dessert and more home grown strawberries, not that under the cloche white forced variety you see in the emporiums.

8. Found the fence paint it just hasn't found it's way onto the fence yet.
Yesterday:
We went over and spent the day with dad, he was on good form for him, we made ourselves useful cleaning and tidying and shifting sofas and chairs where he wanted. And left him in a happy mood.0 -
Pleasures for today:
1) A bit of a lie in. Smaller son stayed up to watch the football last night (bigger son and I went to sleep in bed) so got up late this morning.
2) MrN has replaced the fence! And, as smaller son said, "Actually, we've got more room than we had to start with"!
3) Went to my mum and dad's for father's day. We bought him a new birds nest box and a better trowel for his veg patch. And a lovely card from our local NT place that plays birdsong when you open it.
4) Went to play tennis with sons and my brother. I'd forgotten how much I hate taking part in all sports. There was very little running on my side of the court! Sons are pretty good.
5) Then went swimming which was much more sensible.
6) School friend here for tea and the lettuce in our sandwiches was off the allotment.0
