Good evening everyone :hello:
I have the lurgy again! DH commented that it was only last month that I was ill; I corrected him as it was 2 months ago!!!
However, I still have pleasures:
1) Dragged myself off to a local town where there is a branch of my bank open on a Saturday. Managed to pay in the money from my fundraising yesterday. Phew!
2) Went to see my "boys" playing rugby today. The last match of the season at home, so they did a walk around the pitch in front of all 24,000 fans. I shed a tear for one of my favourites (ie looks divine!) who is leaving to play in France. *sob*
3) DH has been ensuring that I have been fully dosed up. Bless him.
4) Received my running number for the 10k I'm doing in a fortnight. Argh!! All so real now. Seemed a good idea at the time....
5) Have started to save Tesco stamps. I figure that so long as I get £49 worth of stamps this year and spend them during December, therefore qualifying for the extra £1 bonus, I will have earned a decent interest rate!! Far more decent than the current interest rate anywhere in the UK!
About to collapse in a small heap with my lurgy, so I'll bid you all good night. xSealed Pot Challenge #021 #8 975.71 #9 £881.44 #10 £961.13 #11 £782.13 #12 £741.83 #13 £2135.22 #14 £895.53 #15 £1240.40 #16 £1805.87 #17 £1820.01 declared0 -
Get well now Vicky
1. Up at sparrow-f@rt to try and sort out the water butt as it's not filling. Can't see why so wondering if the guttering is blocked but no sign of over-flowing. Put buckets and a couple of spare tubs out to catch the rain water
2. Dyed a top and a pair of trousers, they were grubby beige and are now fresh green
3. Met with friends for lunch in Cafe Rouge using a voucher so was only half price
4. Walked back to the car through the market as they were packing up and got a carrier full of veg for the freezer for £1.50p
5. Make no apologies for this one - having a choice of channels to watch while prepping above veg and avoiding the song contest. Instead I've enjoyed an evening of NCIS, New Tricks etc.
Sweet dreams0 -
Get well now, Vicky!
BoP - listening to everyone booing when Russia gets some points.
Pleasures for today:
1) A lie in!
2) Lots of texts from smaller son (they're at their father's).
3) Popped to see mum and dad.
4) Went to Ludlow for a look around and some lunch.
5) Have done a big chunk of my last distance learning course.
6) Pie and chips from the van.
7) Watching Eurovision.0 -
Sorry yes memory like a sieve (indeed several jumblies have applied to take it to sea) & is idd testing ourt coriolis force and the vexing question re direction of flow of water down the plug hole
kk fingers crossed. No news could just mean you and someone else are neck and neck and they're having difficulty choosing.
1) another 2500 words for my chapter (5130 -> 7696 to be exact). Today i have written about the college or barber surgeons, and burke and hare and the anatomy act of 1832 amongst other things. Now over the pond 19th century.
2) got my washing dry despite unpromising weather forecast - well dry enough for ironing which i shall do tomorrow
3) nice walks with the dogs when i needed a break from writing
4) mum's gone to venice and gave me her ticket for live from the met (she has a season ticket). Tonight was rossini's la cenerentola -cinderella to me. Absolutely fab (just as well cos it was 3:40!)
5) gbf and his partner, total opera fanatics, were there and bought me a drink in the interval and drove me home. Truly spoilt :-)MrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

Sparrer: A fantastic hawl, and a great choice of watching, I like them! I miss criminal minds and Bones which was on Sky.
1.We stopped by Mr T last night to pick up things requested for dad, wow it costs a fair bit more when having to pay full price, while there we picked up fresh milk and bread for us thou it was lovely with a slice of grilled bacon this morning.:p
2 and 3 DH and I were called out on search request for the rest of the day which was close to home, we’d finished for the day at 4.30 and decided to shoot over the bridge to Costco thinking the mad rush would be over – wrong, so we shot round only buying literally the necessities for us, but we needed some expensive bits an ultrasonic toothbrush we got a great deal on (I am trying to save a tooth), and a new router as ours keeled over, with research we were able to get it with 40% off and I paid for it with Nectar points.
4. Picked up a Chinese takeaway from our local wonderful place, at last good food for the first time this entire week I do feel bad as we are still watching what we eat but the food has been dull
5. I am a bit of a clothes hoarder, and I’m doing alright at beating it, 3 bin bags full of worn out holey beyond repair clothes filled up and thrown out as no good for animal bedding or charity.0 -
Quick post on Sunday morning with my Saturday pleasures....was in too late last night!
Up at early o'clock and enjoyed the peace and quiet.
Went to a nice cafe and had peanut butter on toast and a hot chocolate.
Parked near the river Yarra, it was very high with all the rain we've had.
Drive, drive, drive and then stop as there was a kangaroo in the road watching us watching him, he sat for ages but then waited until I had my camera ready to take a photo and bounded off. Thrilled!
Then ( as I've been warned, it's not the kangaroo you can see that does the damage it's the ones that are following him) in the scrub next to the road was another one so we got a photo of him as he bounded in front of us....though he did stop to have a second glance at us! I love kangaroos!
Home via, ridiculously busy shopping mall carpark....it's Mother's Day today and everywhere was so busy, it was like Christmas shopping! We drove round and round looking for a space and I said let's go home but not to be thwarted OH was determined to find a space......we ended up in a much quieter carpark that required a 5 minute walk!! Everyone wants to park right outside the shops! Anyway, went in, got, bought and straight back out!
We wandered up to our little tiny local cafe and had a drink there in the afternoon. OH does like his coffee! Handed in some read magazines to box in library and bought some more veggies at f&v shop. Original f&v shop closed for day ( as it usually does on a Saturday at 1pm) and new shop enjoying the trade!
Home and a little snoozette....wasn't planned just happened and I woke with a crick in my neck and pins and needles in my hand! But it topped up my energy levels for later.
We had been invited to my boss's house for dinner with our other friends, we had such a lovely night. She is Turkish so it was all traditional Turkish fare which was lovely ....stuffed ! Changed out of my high heeled boots ( electric blue foot tape in place! ) into my trainers to drive home.....I live the high life!
So all in all a very pleasant day, didn't spend too much money, spent time with friends, chats with my girls and saw kangaroos and enjoyed the stunning colours that nature provides in autumn0
