    1. Need to report on this one now while I feel so excited about it. I just came out of the college where I'd been [STRIKE]scalped[/STRIKE] trimmed by a student to see a small group of students staring up at the sky. Now I've been caught like this before so I was very tempted not to look up, but my curiosity got the better of me - like it does ;) - and there, swooping and diving over the farm area of the college, was a pair of red kites. The students were all making guesses about what they were but my DB has a pair which lives at the bottom of his garden so I was fortunate to be able to tell them. One immediately looked it up on his tablet and they crowded round to read about them, looking up to match the colours, size etc. It was a beautiful moment seeing teens so interested in such a beautiful bird :)

    For Thurs

1.I arranged to work at home today, I let DH lay in while I got up for a tele conference. I grilled some bacon, tidied up and let the animals run riot. I found the perfect card that made him chortle, an uncle johns book loo readers as he collects them, a remote control helicopter, and a little piece of hand made jewellery, he’s getting himself something for the car as the main present, and of course there’s a spikey hedgehog choccy cake.:T
2.I have put the fresh hoya seeds both in the airing cupboard and green house and really hope they come up, there were 91 in total.:D
3.A couple of loads of washing done but inside drying as the weather is great for ducks and flowers.
4.Watched a lovely 1963 film on in the background.
5.We are will head out for a bite to eat tonight and the lovely thing is that the commute money saved today will cover the meal. :o

    6. DH using the helicopter to remove “ahem” cobwebs lol.:rotfl:

    For Today.

My dad has been very ill in a hospital that is not local to us this past week, and as such home, work, and the hospital have worn a bit thin for a couple of days. A particular “work person” had me nearly in tears today, the one thing that stopped me was I looked out of the window and thought, I’ve saved time and money on the commute as I am working from home today, and I am going to be leaving soon, numpty features certainly isn’t worth my tears, I kept it together just, so thank “goodness” its Friday.;)
1.I concentrated this afternoon on getting a piece of work done that I needed to get done and out of the way.:)
2.I had written 2 letters but hadn’t got as far as sending them, sheer laziness on my behalf so I walked to the post box.:o
    3. It’s Friday, whoo hooo.:T
4.The £8 yellow sticker shop from Monday lasted well, with 10 day’s worth of sarnies still frozen, the pork joint made a roast dinner, pork and pickle sarnies, sweet and sour, and today I am cooking it up making a mash topped pork and veggie and anything else pie, with enough left to make up a casserole that I will freeze, the food is nicely slowly cooking away better than an air freshener…
5.Dh doing diy things around me while I worked, fixing the new garden light to walls that will come on when the animals are out or movement.
    6. Got the kitchen floor mopped over, thou err it was long over due:o, satisfaction of throwing the dirty mop water away….
Now off out again over to dads…

Evening all, from a seriously dozy CCP - I've been back to not sleeping properly for the past couple of nights and now feel smiley-sleep006.gif, which I hope will at least enable me to get a bit more sleep tonight. :undecided

    1) Another really quiet day at work so it didn't matter that I was largely there only in body - by the end of the afternoon I had given up on even pretending to do any work and just entered some more competitions. :o

    2) Chatting to a colleague about the Eurovision Song Contest - it's nice to know I'm not the only eejit prepared to give up an entire Saturday evening to watch that nonsense!

    3) Worked out which texts I need for my OU essay and ordered them online, using a voucher code from a cashback website so they didn't actually cost me anything. :money:

    4) It's mean of me, I know, but - my sister has decided she's not coming to visit me this weekend after all. I love her dearly, but my own mental health is pretty bad at the moment and I really don't think I could cope with hers as well.

    5) Finally decided I'd had enough of the ornamental grass which had seeded itself outside the patio doors and which was banging on the window with every gust of wind - it has now been pulled up and dumped in the green waste bin and peace is restored!

PK - I'm so sorry to hear about your dad - fingers crossed he picks up really soon.

Kittikins - sorry you didn't get the job, but it sounds like you were very close again - I think it will only be a matter of time before you get one.
Back after a very long break!

Oooh sparrer, I love a good couple of red kites. We had one swooping over the playground a couple of weeks ago. A few frightened children as I was telling them that the birds were looking for their next meal. :rotfl: I hasten to add that the children I was talking to realised I was joking. :D

    My pleasures for the day:

    1) Non-uniform day and cake sale at school raised £145.92 for Spinal Research! :j :j Some VERY generous staff making cakes and equally as generous children and parents bringing in money to spend. Paid straight onto my Just Giving page, so it doesn't touch the sides!

    2) DH is fed up of me coughing and spluttering, so bought me Olbas Oil and boiled the kettle. Just had a steam over a bowl and I now have very smooth skin. :D

    3) NSD (well, I don't count the cake I bought for 20p earlier)

    4) DH cracked under the pressure and remembered to buy online via our TopCashback account! The training is paying off. ;)

    5) Easy supper of pizza from the freezer. Life in the fast lane... :o

    Night all. x

'Tis very early Saturday morning here and it is absolutely lashing with rain! And it seems that is the forecast for today so not sure if our planned day out will go ahead, will see what OH thinks when he gets up.all is quiet in the mhagster household ....I do like being awake and having some time to myself.

CCP Eurovision is very big out here...this did surprise me when we first moved out here!!! But I suppose there are many different European nationals living here! An Australian singer will be singing in the interval :)

PK ah the joys of work colleagues......grit your teeth, bite your tongue...whatever it takes and know you are the better person for it!

DFV I love your style of posting your pleasures.....you do a beautiful recap of everyone's week!

Vickywell done on your cake sale. It's great that parents/ staff and kids still support these events and that a charity benefits from eating cake!

skintos and tealady hope all is well with you both and chicken

Anyway, here are some of yesterday's pleasures:

Went to work...on the train, beautiful morning, well wrapped up as it's so chilly at the start of the day. Bumphergumps was certainly bumping them! I'm just learning to switch off slightly! Realising it's just her way....and in other ways is actually okay!

We had a new girl back to trial for second shift, BHG ( as I shall now call her....spell check doesn't like bumphergums!) wasn't happy that the decision had been made by me and other colleague to have her back. The girl is quiet but efficient and makes a good coffee. Can't all be life and souls! By the end of her shift she was being quite chatty.....I never underestimate how challenging starting a new job and meeting new people can be. I was very shy as a child/ teenager and even now my inner shy person twists inside me on ' new ' occasions.

Lovely colleague that I was working with admired my new choppy bob hairdo...tis no longer choppy and goodness knows what it will look like once I wash it this morning! This lovely colleague only works a Friday ,which I don't normally do , so I like working with her.

Home and straight out to physio with DD2 ....we saw 3 possums coming out of their tree for a night on the tiles!! Her physio is a really nice helpful chappy! Gave us some free tape, so I can strap knees up on DD. He called her through the week to see how she was getting on! That's what I call service. Was reading a magazine whilst there and realised I put it in my bag....oops! I will finish it and return it on Wednesday :)

Then out for a hot date with my OH, we went to our local cheap and cheerful Chinese restaurant , ate as much as we could and then brought the leftovers home for kids! Nice to catch up with him, properly ,after a busy working week.

Text from son , whilst paying for physio....' Is anybody at home?' , replied ' at physio will be home in 5' .physio is literally in the next street to us so home quickly, house still in darkness , other than back porch light that I'd left on .....son ( aged almost 19) sitting on back steps, looking all forlorn. He'd forgotten his key! Hopefully life lesson learned....always have a house key :) your mammy might be out!

And that was Friday:) I have a whole weekend off work , going out tonight and it's Mother's Day here tomorrow , so we have a table booked in our usual scone cafe....I live and learn out here! Only get in if you have a table booked ....most caf!s / restaurants will be the same.

Daylight is just peeking through the rain clouds, so I shall find something to watch and start my monster ironing :) whilst all is quiet...apart from the heavy rain on the roof ( a comforting sound of home)

Have a good nights sleep all :)

What a lot of annoying people around me today :-/ The one who nearly knocked my car mirror up the road for me when I was parked outside school (he didn't stop), the neighbour who filled my wheelie bin with her rubbish (I took her bag out again then later saw she'd put 2 of her bags on top of my bin!!) and MrN for being especially weird when I bumped into him and not mentioning the fence letter at all...

    Anyway!

    1) Not a bad sleep.

    2) 3 hours on the allotment in the sunshine. Planted: more lettuces, mizuma and watercress. Dahlias. Cleared out an enormous pot (half a barrel) and planted it to look like a wheel with spokes of coriander, chives and parsley with a sunflower in the middle. Stuck a few patches of basil in too.

    3) Had a bit of a drama when I couldn't work out what the noise was when I was in the greenhouse - it was a swarm coming from the hives on the allotment behind mine! It was above the shed for a while then settled on a raspberry cane on the next allotment.

    4) Cup of tea in Sainsburys.

    5) Posted little gifts and a card for my friend's son whose naming day is coming up.

    6) Smaller son got a certificate at school and is looking forward to his SATs (!) including the breakfast school is going to provide each day beforehand. :-)

    7) Went to bingo. I won some tins of soup and some part cooked rolls. Bigger son won a gammon and all the veg to go with it.

Grrrr, despite making me leave school early to get home for a 4:30pm call, my interview school didn't contact me.......so no idea if I've got the job, but am now 99.9% sure that I haven't. Hope everything is okay with them, odd that they haven't contacted me, an email telling me to naff off would suffice.

    Anyway....yesterday's treats:

    1. Wore a dress to school and was drawn a few pictures of me with a crown on looking pretty :)

    2. My favourite Reception girl chose not to play after doing her work, but spent an entire hour doing maths with me :):):)

    3. Hopefully I made her and her mummy's day by going out after school to have a chat with her about how impressed I with RG's work. As a mummy I know I love having these kinds of conversations :)

    4. DD's sports event has been cancelled for today, but she's going over to play with a chum instead, so I won't feel guilty about needing to plan a gazillion lessons.

    5. Delicious dinner - I knew it 'wouldn't keep, so had to finish it off :)

    6. NSD
